The GSL Code S RO32 concluded with the final four players securing their spots in the RO16. Group G saw Dark and Neeb advance at the expense of aLive and Losira, while Group H saw Rogue and KeeN triumphing over SpeCial and soO.
Code S will take a short hiatus for the upcoming GSL vs. The World (Aug 2-5) tournament. Code S will resume with the RO16 group nominations on Wednesday, Aug 08 9:30am GMT (GMT+00:00).
In terms of ro16, soO, Classic, ByuN, Solar, Dear, and Patience were replaced by Impact, Leenock, herO, Keen, Reynor, and Neeb.
On paper it seems like a downgrade but some of the latter did play much better in the ro32. Hopefully they keep it up and don't flop in their ro16 groups.
My prediction of SpeCial being able to beat soO and having a good a chance as any to get out of the group wasn't far off. Sad for soO but he just wasn't good enough. Keen deservedly moves on after some great performances in GSL and barely not making it through before.
I am really happy for KeeN because he deserved it. He reminds for early version of Gumiho back in WoL with an incredible multi-tasking but not so polished micro yet. Special played really well, actually he was sick, but he combined some brilliant moves with really bad ones but I guess he always was that kind of unbalanced player. aLive did the same but after all I preferred Neeb to continue in Ro16. That is why last two groups were very strange and the decider's matches were shaking until the very last second.
This time I really wish Ro16 with no groups of death. Every time Dark and TY get stuck in groups of death. The first half of the qualified players are in a sick level now, but the others are shaky. Let them prove that they can do it better.
Not going to lie but SpeCial played really well this season. I hope he qualifies for the next one and makes it to the RO16. I was up watching Neeb play. That was crazyyyyy
