Maru will play sOs and then most likely Stats which are the people that knocked him out of GSL super tournament 2 and GSL vs the World. I favor serral over dark, rogue and TY, but ZvZ is a weird match up so we will see. But Maru is clearly not playing how he normally does in both of those tournaments. He deviated from his proxy every game strat vs Stats and he definitely didn't seem to take his match vs sOs as seriously as his GSL matches. The context of the losses are more important than the losses themselves, and the context of his super tournament 2 and gsl vs the world losses point to Maru relaxing a bit and taking those games less seriously than usual. Serral's ZvZ is incredible and I would be beyond shocked if he lost to Dark. The European scene has always been a bit of a specialist region in the ZvZ match up and Serral has managed to take firm control over it. Serral also proved himself in TvZ and ZvZ at GSL vs The World. I would not be surprised if they meet in the finals

SOS definitely has the potential to beat maru, especially in a tournament like this where maru does not have time to do heavy prep for the games. SOS knows maru inside and out and his volatile style might be enough to eliminate him. I sense an upset coming. Rooting for maru to win the whole thing though. Except Maru's style isn't all that volatile. If it was, he wouldn't have won 3 GSLs in a row, a feat literally no player has ever accomplished before. Maru does proxy, yes, but he has managed to turn proxying into a safe, reliable opener that's hard to punish.

Korean ZvZ is so far behind Europe's. From what i recall there was a lot of 3-2 from Serall in ZvZ 3-2 vs Scarlett two times, 3-2 vs Lambo, 4-3 vs Reynor... Yeah i'm not sure that's his best matchup Rooting for a Stats vs TY final EDIT : i just noticed that serral isn't on the TLPD top 10 list lol (it's still hots)

Maru > sOs 3:1 , maybe.. maybe 3:2............ Stats > Special 3:1 / 3:2 maximum.. i hope i wrong TY > Rogue ? i think serral would rekt ty so easily, just watch the games between lambo and ty. serral could play x4 better and ty have no a little chance.. Serral > Dark 3:1 to be honest we all know that serral's macro is much better than all zergs. super stable and so smart. always scouting and also petroling with zerglings against drops.... guys you really think dark will beat serral in best of 5?. the only way i see dark win is in short games not in long macro games but even in short games he will lose.... dark is idiot, the risks he is taking vs rogue & vs solar is very bad risks. serral and dark are opposites. will be so stressing to watch those games.. i think this serral is a bit better than the serral we know because of all the crazy practicing...dark too,,. 3:1 serral.. i won't be surprised if we will see 3:0 P..

He looked mortal there. What Rotti pointed out was that Serral ahs been incredibly dominant in the zvz matchup the whole year, only dropping maps in that one tournament. Sure its the most recent tournament so its relevant to discuss but if you're going to bring that point up also remember Serral has dominated all year and the players that took those maps off of Serral played very specific styles to counter him. Serral won because he adapted his playstyles fluidly. Yeah so after being super dominant for the last six months the EU zergs found kinks in his armor after analyzing his playstyle but the fact that they did all that and still didn't manage to upset him says a lot. I woudl say Serrals zvz is crazy scary, I believe he is favoured against Dark and Rogue (even though I believe in Rogue getting the win if the match happens).

Ty can roll Rogue if he does the bio to mech thor+liberators build that maru is so deadly with. I think Ty will 3-1 if he gets his build orders right.
