A year after returning from the military and giving StarCraft II progaming another shot, MMA announced on Twitter that he will be joining Gen.G/Seoul Dynasty academy team (Overwatch) as a coach. MMA told Inven that "I'm sorry to my fans and so thankful to them at the same time. Their support and love let me be a progamer for so long."

Guy has had a hell of a career - culminating with the storybook ending by winning HSC back in 2015. How many pros can retire with a premier tournament win like that? Even when he came back, he managed to qualify for GSL Code S, and won Nation Wars for South Korea (adding yet another accomplishment to his storied career) Thanks for all the memories MMA, and here's to many more!

Good luck in your new path, MMA! We love you! Yeah, it was really unfortunate that his new team disbanded so quickly after his return. I don't think that Bomber will be able to come back successfully - he alredy delayed his military service for a very long time. I think Taeja is the next big chance of real comeback.

MMA was one of two players who would have made GSL this year if not for the influx of 'extra' foreigners. I noted this fact at the time. People outside of Korea playing in GSL would be alright, except that these same foreigners were also enrolled in Circuit. At the same time, Koreans were not allowed to play in both. People have to live. Life costs money. Money costs time. When time is blocked out for 1/3 of a year, you need to find a new job.

Wasn't MMA in GSL Season 3 ro32? Anyway, I do agree with you, he sure needs to make a living.

I'd much rather see the strategic minds crafted by Starcraft live on within eSports than fall into obscurity. While it doesn't directly benefit Starcraft (sadface), it will be great for eSports in general. Secondly, being an eSports player isn't exactly a cakewalk. It's grueling, as is two years of S Korean military training (look it up, it's pretty crazy and something that usually isn't talked about). Sometimes a change of pace is good. Best of luck, MMA!
