TL has Hot_Bid and Tyler...both with sub 7 second times. As long as they don't go over 8 seconds (*cough* TLO ), they should have this in the bag. Plus this time, HuK is coming!
Idra is fucking ready to go. He's pumped, psyched, just itching for an opportunity to prove himself. He takes off and thinks he's starting well... then to his right he sees a blur. It creeps up on his peripherals and then is in front of him. Getting to the line and coming back towards him. This beast isn't even panting in fact... what the hell he's smiling. All IdrA sees is:
: )
As cruncher blazes past him for glory!
On his way back he just leaves the race without finishing due to a photo of HuK which somebody glued to a passing truck.

It's like hiring the ex-minor league players just to show up for the company softball game.
Those people actualy Work at MLG ever sence its start. Their a bunch of old Halo Bras and slasher. Mad jocks with skill.
With the korean Reinforcements I'm predicting TL to take it from MLG in a close win. EG 3rd FOXO 4th and complexity 5th. Unless their allowed to use The dong then hes going to eat everyone and set the road on fire and the whole thing will be akward to tell the police about.
looks like TLO was the weak link in Tl's team at Columbus, with Huk joining the ranks maybe they can sure up their roster .................<3 you Dario
FXO to upset everyone, they have been training hard in Korea recently. Most people think they have been playing Starcraft, but what you don't know is that they have just been doing marathons everyday. GGs.
I'm glad this time honoured tradition of a relay race at MLG is being continued :D Hopefully the camera work is a bit more solid so we can see properly this time :D
No one has mentioned that HuK played running back (american football) all through his high school years. If he's participating and Tyler remains anchor, TL will take this one to the bank.
The biggest question is who is planning on doing the stream coverage for this event? Last time the coverage was spotty and hard to locate.
Who will step up and be the eBaller to provide full coverage? I'm talking pre-race interviews, multiple camera angles, post race analysis. The Full Coverage.

OR Huk/Haypro to replace him. Haypro was vocal earlier so chances are he will be running.
Tyler's really fast, and Hot_Bid is speedy too. I think if HayprO replaces TLO they'll be all good and can take it, but it'll be close. MLG is fast too, and FXO isn't too shabby either.
Somehow watching pro gamers run a race is more exciting to me than the finals of MLG colombus maybe becauses they are out of their zone. But either way this was awesome to watch

you obviously havent seen a pic of Cruncher then, im pretty sure incontrol could outrun him >.> (no offence brah, your job isnt running, its making dating Beauty Queens look easy, and searching for CombatEx at any LAN event to see if he was brave enough to show up)
They should all run buzzed or drunk. The course should be zig-zaggy as well if that ends up being the case. Now that would be exciting! If not, Im still excited for it, TL FIGHTING!
On July 26 2011 10:25 bkrow wrote: EG will probably poach Slasher days before the race, strongly asserting they were waiting for Slasher to speak with Sundance :p
TL hwaiting! Let's see if someone can beat Tyler's time!
I love you for going there <3 You guys should make the anchor leg double the actual or there and back to stack it in TLs favour. Otherwise, I still think MLG will win, though it should be closer.
Slasher looks pretty unbeatable. Imma have to go with the defending place champ. Although i wouldn't be opposed to him wearing longer... less revealing shorts haha
Team Liquid and staff should do an internal race to see who are the 5 top runners to represent them. This is some serious business and Team Liquid better take down MLG and win .
Also, stop hating on TLO. They asked him at the last minute, so he wasn't able to mentally and physically prepare him ahead of time. FFS, he was wearing jeans to the relay. If you give him another chance to redeem himself, I bet he will do awesome.
Plus, he was injured and now he's somewhat rested and healed.
On July 26 2011 12:32 p4NDemik wrote: Hope we have some one more fleet of foot than I to take the leg. Need to gain a second on MLG!
Huk or Hayder?
I'm sure HuK could easily beat my time easy. HS Running Back? Yeah definitely could blow me out of the water. HayprO I dk, didn't see him run in Columbus, could be the wildcard.
I don't think coL has many fit dudes. I'm gonna pick TL/MLG neck and neck again.
Edit: Haha. Just noticed there was a post in this thread about TLO wearing clogs and the ad banner at the top is a link to nextag's page on women's clogs sales.
My money is on TL this time. Slasher has got fat and slothful, living off his fame. TL is determined to put up a good showing at MLG, the relay race is their opportunity.

If HuK runs I'm pretty confident TL will have the 3 fastest guys there. Then it will all just come down to #4 and #5.
TL will definitely take it this time. TLO should be more fit now since he has been working out due to his CTS and with Tyler and HuK in as well it should be an easy win. Plus HayprO is pretty fast too :D
I'm pretty sure Huk is pretty fast...he used to play football or something...and has spoke of his speed when they play soccer in Korea.
Looking forward to seeing it! (Hopefully we can get a better camera angle to try to capture more of it this time...I felt we were missing some last time - although I haven't seen it for several weeks so my memory could be wrong)
I ran 2nd for MLG last time. Not to take anything away from Tyler and his speed, but you realize our anchor slowed down before the finish right? To anyone who is saying it was close, that won't be an issue this time around.
If TLO has shoes and HuK is as fast as everyone is saying, well then this should be a very good race. No idea what coL, EG, or FXO has up their sleeves either. Regardless, good luck to all!

Hopefully that's the case because he looked the slowest from TL ;o
It's nice to see all the players participating. It will be interesting to see how they do.
Still going with the MLG team though. Might have to include HB and Ken in the next one because other than Tyler they're your 1-2 punch. That's only if you guys are using HayprO, Huk, Jinro, etc.

Feel like now that the teams have time to plan a counter to Slasher's build order of biker shorts + knee socks they'll have an appropriate response in mind.
All faith in tyler's ability to discover the proper reaction after many hours of researching it's weaknesses.
@MLGBestMan "Going to stream this, tune in!! RT @MLGshibby: The @MLG vs @TeamLiquidnet relay race is going down at 8:30pm in front of the venue!!! #LFG"
MLG cheats, grabbing randoms from their forums. Well the randoms are mods, but recently added mods. TL needs to start pulling randoms so they can compete. Or make it a 2 person event and HuK and Tyler will own all.

No, they didn't. They're all staff members. lol
If they want to win so bad, they know where to look Even then, its supposed to be about the personnel.

Krillin is a ref and a forum mod. So he's staff. But yeah, even if you include just staff, they have a large pool of folks to pick from.

huh? Who would Walshy be running for? Certainly not MLG.
I was just going off of the chat from the live stream. Quite a few people were saying that it was him who fell, so I assumed it was true.
Bad idea to assume anything is true from a stream chat.
Otherwise everyone anyone faces on a stream would be Day[9] :D
Haha, you're right. Although there were only like 250 viewers, so I thought figured the percentage of trolls would be lower, but looks like I was wrong.
no idea why they are running in the dark and why they allowed somebody to hold a camera while running the race. Oh well hope DeMuslim is ok enough to compete.
Lol... i bet when demuslim got tripped he was ready to beat the shit out of Raelcun as Demuslim is known to openly display his frustration when he is frustrated, especially if this damaged his hands, cause it would suck to have to play with scraped up hands.

It didnt look like Raelcun tripped Demuslim. It looked like Demuslim turned his head back to see Raelcun fall down and tripped in the process of doing so.

they should make slasher run every leg next time for his victory celebration
thanks for uploading the videos, its awesome to see these types of out of game events just for some fun and bragging rights, i feel real bad for Demuslim tripping and hurting himself just have to a little more careful next time maby a little more room to run dunno. Great to see everyone having fun though

All the members of MLG's team are current MLG staff. Not sure why their gaming background is at all relevant - TL's original challenge was to any official member of their organization.
Good race everyone! I hope Raelcun and DeMusliM are both okay though. I was also kinda bummed that Tyler couldn't make it because that would have made for an even better race. I will say, that HuK is very quick and definitely surprised me. One last clarification about who our team was too:
Krillin - Forum Mod & Event Referee MioFF - H2 & H3 Player & Content Producer Curran - Production Manager Shibby - Production Coordinator & On-Air Talent Detach - H2 Player & Pro Player Manager
In the future, they should make this purely SC2 related. Direct management (like sundance or nazgul or whatever) should be ok. But I don't want to keep seeing halo players/coaches/random forum mods that I have never heard of keep competing. Really sucks the fun away from the starcraft community

It's not an sc2 only event so I don't see the problem really. It's nothing serious.
Though sad that Tyler didn't show, he could've pulled out the win :p

Are you kidding? They need to invite some of those Halo Teams to compete. Now that would get the competitive juices flowing. Team Liquid vs Instinct? I think so.

No hate, but I doubt Demuslim could beat up an 8th grader, he looks so frail T_T Then again, I bet his gamer rage is pretty fearsome.
Still, love how this is becoming a tradition. Hope TL will finally secure their deserved first place at Raleigh. Tyler, HuK, hot_bid and Kennigit should be insanely fast :O

well team liquid initiated the first relay race for sc2 pro teams and mlg / justin.tv staff + Show Spoiler +
so there is reason to be a little ticked that others are joining in. but at the end of the day its a friendly event, no need to get too worked up over something thats meant to build unity and make some fun.

People were complaining about people from the MLG staff and they were invited from the begginng, there is no reason to be ticked at that. Aren't mods in TL part of the staff? They were not just random people from the forums.
Why didn't anyone complain about Hot Bid before? It's just a friendly race, I don't get why people need to overanalyze everything.
So is someone gonna give us a step by step report of this? as the vid is very dark How did Haypro do? He had some ballsy talk after the last MLG relay race
