For the TSL2, ray1234won the raffle and went to Seoul for a 5-day vacation with his girlfriend. They watched the Korean Air OSL Finals, which was held in an airport hangar. He also met up with some TL members there as well.
And a few words from the winner about his vacation:
On June 01 2010 00:40 ray1234 wrote: Hi TL,
I'm back from Seoul! The night before the finals, we meet up with lilsusie and co (lilsusie, quesadilla, artosis, midian, luddite and a couple other non TLers) for Korean BBQ, then we had some good old fashioned drinking. At the OSL Finals, we got out at Gimpo airport and waited inline with the rabid fans and got on the shuttle bus to the hanger the seats were pretty good since quesadilla gave us VIP tickets. Effort arrived on a cargo lift while Flash made a grand entrance from a commercial jetliner.
As you can tell, we had an AWSOME time in Korea. I've never imagined I'd be so lucky to win something like this! Of course this is all thanks to TL, the organizers (Manifesto, Chill and others), and all the TL celebrities who came out to greet us! (Susie, Andrew, Jamie, Charlie, Nick, Dan, and everyone!)
Thank you all, I hope you guys can do this again next TSL to send another lucky winner to Korea!
Nice contest thanks pokerstrategy, really glad ray1234 wrote about the trip and I hope the new winner does the same and shows us some epic pictures of the TLAF-OGS house!
I think it is hilarious, awesome, and amazing that there is FINALLY a contest for people who aren't US citizens.
Except that it totally blows...I was actually planning a trip to Korea with my father this summer, but we chose not to because he didn't have the air miles to go to Korea. Ah well, off to Brazil!

In the registration section, there's an option for "referred by." Is there a teamliquid account or something we could also put in there to help out more?

Wow, you guys don't even read anything on pokerstrategy's site do you? Talk about ignorance.
Even if you end up at the home page, signing up should still credit you with the TL referral and enter you into the raffle, provided the first time you visited PokerStrategy.com was with the TL referral link. If you're unsure if you used the TL referral link, you can clear your cookies then visit the link again.
"Please be aware that due to the current legal situation in the USA, we do not accept players currently residing in the USA. This means that we unfortunately cannot allow you to have an account at PokerStrategy.com and ask you to refrain from using our bonus codes."
This has to do with the messed up poker legal situation that is kind of in a gray zone in the U.S.
It is because of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAFE_Port_Act They piggybacked an online gambling legislation onto something about US ports. The thing is so incredibly vague that its not really worth it for the poker sites to allow US citizens and risk being prosecuted for it.

Way to flip out at obvious joking.
Anyways, with no US entries, chances look pretty good.
I mean, I understand that its sorta a gray area, but signing up to a website as an American shouldn't be illegal, and if no gambling is actually occuring why can a prize trip not be given to Americans?
That said, I guess that'll be my last post in this thread, will read possible replies later :\

He couldn't of made that joke more obvious. Stop being a sensitive sally and get your lawl on.
Also a shame we can't sign up in the states. I'm visiting Korea next year though to visit my grandparents grave. So either way I'll be heading over there.
Oh man me and my cousin have been talking about planning a Korea trip, this would be an epic raffle win. You guys are the best for giving us all this opportunity :D
i wanted to register to a poker site for a long time, and i thought the TL supported website will be the best, but now i'll definetly sign up, even though i dont really want to win, i want them to see sponsoring TL events and stuff like that is worth it
how do I know once I'm entered? I created an account, and passed the quiz. But I'm kinda skeptical about downloading the poker software and registering. To what extent do I need to go to get entered in the contest?
You should be glad you live in the US and not a 3rd world country
I guess I'll sign up and pray for super duper amazing luck during the TSL :D And what the hell, maybe give the whole poker thing a try, maybe I'd finally learn how to play that.
Hope the winner has a good time! I saw a Raffle mentioned in one of the TSL3 posts, wasn't quite sure what it was (as I'm really new around here). Saw this post, went "oh, where do I sign up" then "what's the double asterisk about?", and finally, "ah, yeah, that moronic piece of legislation where you can't gamble online, just so they could protect the lottery revenue of the roughly 40 states with government run lotteries". Then I remembered again why that was really stupid legislation.
But, someone is going to have an awesome time. Make sure to take lots of pictures!
I already signed up to Pokerstrategy at the last raffle - and my email is still registered in there... Will i have to create a new account with a new email address?

Kinda sucks that it punishes people(well thats being overdramatic but w/e) who've been around longer, unless you are going to allow making a new account just for the quiz, which I don't think is really in the spirit of what PokerStrategy is trying to do with their extremely generous sponsorship.

No, provided you have completed the poker quiz and received the $50 bankroll you should be good to go. One of the benefits of PokerStrategy is you do not need to risk any of your own money to try your hand at online poker.
i wasted like an hour of my life doing the quiz and going through all the steppes necessary now i have to download some clients and give them my address and phone number and send a copy of my ID?

The address/phone/ID is a security process they have to have in place in order to protect the legitimacy of their $50 free action. As you can understand such a thing is very fraud sensitive so there's no other way to do this.
I was so pumped...just until the moment when I saw, that some real money had to come in play.
I guess, end of journey for me.
Edit: Good luck to everyone who wants to do it. The test is a bitch, but just read the articles carefully - all the answears are there. I passed it while watching GSL.
So, if I have no interest in poker at all, is it okay for me to participate in this raffle? Also, for those who had accomplished all the needed steps, how much information about myself do I have to provide? Giving your own personal info in the web is a pretty much fail thing to do, I always thought. 하하.

You dont have to deposit any of your money. All you have to do to qualify for the raffle: create an account at one of the available poker sites and then you will recieve real money from pokerstrategy on that account.

Well the idea behind this raffle is obviously to get people interested in poker, but its not like they are going to sue you, if you just sign up to qualify for the raffle
About personal information: It has been a while since i signed up, but if i remember correctly they will ask for stuff like adress and day of birth and they might even request some kind of ID scan. One reason for this is the fact that they dont allow us citizens and underaged people, the other is that they give every new account 50$ for basically passing a quiz and you can imagine that this gets abused alot if there is no ID check...
If you want to make sure to not get bothered with newsletters/spam just create an extra free email account somewhere to register.
Awww, people living in Puerto Rico can't get the free $50 deposit because of a US law:
"The President of the United States has signed legislation that now causes PartyGaming to have to cease taking wagers from US customers. We will also suspend accepting deposits from US customers while we reevaluate our business model for the US and assess potential offerings to US customers that would be within the new law."

The fact is that if this is how you want to do it there's nothing we or they can do about it. However we strongly want to discourage this and ask you not to. Pokerstrategy as a sponsor shows a great interest in SC2 and helping this scene grow, and this raffle and their investment depend largely on whether people show a genuine interest in poker and the Pokerstrategy system.
Just think about it like this: If 100 out of 100 people did what you're suggesting; would there be a TSL?
I just want to give props to TL and pokerstrategy for a great and fun way to moneytize and fund the TSL. I hope more companies take note of this type of approach instead of just relying on playing the same commercials over and over again between matches.

Also i wanted to add that i didnt meant to encourage anybody to just sign up for the raffle. Really nice with these kind of raffles, thank you!
Totally signed up. I thought I needed all of the questions right in order to "pass" it. So I spent ages trying to figure out what the different terms even meant. Then I gave up, and just guessed on the questions I couldn't find an answer on in their tables. I passed the quiz, so I assume you only need a certain amount to be correct.
Waiting for my requested 50$ to be transfered to my partypoker account. I don't quite understand the software part, I thought you could play these kind of games through a browser, but what I don't go through to get a tiny chance of winning a trip to Korea. Especially since my country don't often allow these kind of things. Don't even know why this is different, but who cares, I'm gonna try my luck anyway.
US citizens can't participate because of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (among other regulations) that prevent them from signing up to the website, and therefor from participating in the raffle. Its quite unfortunate, but hopefully this post sheds some light for anyone who was wondering why US citizens got the short end of the stick. Its not TL's fault! They love us all equally.. kinda ;]
Yea it's not Team Liquid's decision or Poker Strategy's decision to disclude US-Citizens, it's just US Law that regulates and blocks certain form of online gambling (I think the specifics is that pokerstrategy.com is just an organization for the gambling that links to actual gambling sites, as in there is no actual gambling that goes on at the site, which violates some bureaucratic law). And it's not just the contest, the reason US-Citizens can't enter is because they can't even sign up for PokerStrategy.com.
awesome contest and good luck to all who enter, from the pictures it looks like an awesome trip to take maybe one day i will be able to make my way out there
Question. I'm quite suspicious about those 50USD for everyone. Can I simply make an account, go all-in once, get my money and quit forever without paying anything? Cus I don't wan't to become a poker addict
Poker community – it’s a place where you can talk about and live poker – just what TeamLiquid is for StarCraft.
wouldn't that be liquidpoker?
Is this site called LiquidCraft?
what is the point of this? implying an analogous name to liquidpoker would be liquidstarcraft, not liquidcraft. literally asking, the obvious answer is "no, this is teamliquid." as a rhetorical question, it's a non sequitur. any way you read it, it doesn't respond to what is quoted.
Awesome! Just finished my application and setup, man it takes a while but it's pretty cool that these guys are pretty much giving you 50$ for free and the poker knoweledge in itself is pretty helpful. Probably took me about an hour to read the articles and I think I'm a smarter poker player already lol. Really cool resource though for anyone interested. For me there was a button right beneath every question saying something like "Read about blablabla here." and it would directly take you to the article that holds the information you need to answer the question.

cool, can you name some of these articles, i know how to play poker, i even played on full tilt a bit but i'm not too familiar with the tactical terms, abreviations and stuff like that, especially in english
I was doing the quiz (on the right side) while the strategy articles were linked in the middle column.

This. I just dont have the time! And the questions are so high-level! Damn I signed in too.,. If anyone wants my username and password PM me!
if you cant spend an hour to get 50 dollar and a chance to win a huge prize you dont really deserve it now, do you? The questions are "basic" level and they even link the article from which you can get the answer right there.
I cant seem to find the dates for this trip, can anybody help? As a poker play i would happly do this and get the $50 on a site i dont already play on for messing around drunk on but i cant realy be bothered if its dates i cant do as loyalty rewards realy add up for the grinder.
Ok, I have lived in Mexico all my life and have all kinds of mexican documentation and credentials (ID, license, insurance, etc.) but I hold a US citizenship. There's no way that I can participate? -_-

The dates aren't set yet, they will be arranged so that you are able to go!!
What if you are a US citizen BUT you have a computer and credit card in Mexico/Canada and you go down there so you can sign up to PokerStrategy and get the 50 bucks legally. Would this be an exception?
Sup everyone, my ID check for the $50 dollar offer and entry into the raffle seemed to have failed here for some unknown reason and I am just wondering if there is anything I can do on my part to try and correct the issue?

Ok, so ... i think i might have fucked up :D ... i pressed the referral link, did the quiz ... got the $50 on Full Tilt Poker.... but now i remember that I wasnt logged in on teamliquid, when i pressed the referral link, so I guess im not entered into the raffle then, if so ... can you (admins) ... fix it?
Edit: I didnt use the same username either , on Full Tilt Poker and Poker Strategy my username is "wogge" ... sure hope this is fixable.

D'oh, I'm in the same boat.
Edit: Reg'ed over there with a different username though, so please let me know what I would need to do.
what if i signed up for pokerstrategy earlier? do i have to create a new account? and do i need to use the same email on pokerstrategy as i do on TL? Thanks.
Well, this sucks. I'm in Australia, on an Australian ISP in the nations capital and it says I can't join because I am in the US. I know we get a lot of TV from the US, but this is ridiculous.
This is kind of a disappointing way to hold a raffle, not only is the registration required so long, but at the end of the day there's also a chance of your account verification to fail for no apparent reason, even though they actually talk with you on the phone.
Well, that was pretty fun. Took some 3 hours but I finally lost all of the $50. I've played poker/hold'em for money a few times IRL, but luckily I don't get addicted to gambling.
Signed up, and it's so much more fun than I thought it would be.
Never played online poker before, thought I'd just blow the $50 on $2/$4 and never play again, I went down to $14 in the first couple of hands, but then climbed my way back up to like $60. I'm going to go micro stakes though and learn it properly now. Much more to it than I originally thought, it's already super addictive.
i got declined without a reason. contacted them no answer. now they got a picture of my id, and I nothing. doesn't feel serious. want my data deleted again
If you have any questions about your PokerStrategy.com account, try the PokerStrategy.com Q&A Thread. Xantos (Lutz) answers questions pretty often there.

Passed the test first time with flying colours now waiting for my account to be credited, have played live poker in casinos and amongst friends quite often in the past. Never tried it online though, hope this goes well!
So I already wrote TL about this, but unfortunately didn't receive an answer yet. I signed up and did everything as stated, received the 50$ bankroll and afterwards contacted pokerstrategy.com to make sure I was in the raffle. Unfortunately the CSR did not know anything about a raffle and I had to point him towards this site. I asked him how they communicate with TeamLiquid so they know who did go through this time consuming process and who didn't and he just said - "I can confirm you have a been registered using the TeamLiquid promotion code, and you are also registered at full tilt poker" please contact TeamLiquid for further information.
So I asked him again, "HOW" does pokerstrategy inform TL who did receive the bankroll and who didn't and he again evaded the question and pointed towards TL. Now I am a bit confused... since on the one hand I just start to realise that I don't think Pokerstrategy is communicating with TL which would make sense as the data we give to PS is private and I don't think they are allowed to provide to a third party who signed up at what poker site and received money. Also PS says they have nothing to do with the raffle it's all TLs responsibility.
So maybe I just talked to a bad CSR or so and someone preferably from TL can answer my question here:
"How does TL know who went through this time consuming process to receive the 50$ and is therefore eligible for the raffle?"
You do not need to download their software to receive the $50 Dollars, but you do have to download a third parties Poker software to use it.
I've entered the contest, and I could not be more pleased with Poker Strategy, you guys are seriously awesome sponsors with an awesome website. I will enjoy my 50 dollars on FTP. :D

So just sign up to poker strategy with your referrer as TeamLiquid, take a look around the site. Make an introductory post I guess. Have a go at poker from one of their links/ads.
The US rule means you can't get the free $50. Doesn't mean you can't support PokerStrategy for supporting TSL.
Is there any way for us lame Americans to support pokerstrategy outside of just watching TSL? Seeing as we can't sign up, how can we make it known that we support them supporting us? zzz
Edit: Didn't see above post, will definitely do that.
Edit 2: To the above poster, I got a message saying I couldn't even access the website due to the unlawful gambling act. T_T
Can someone post the answers to the quiz? I know it's probably not possible, but I really don't care about poker and just want to support Teamliquid... I'm having trouble.
Xain, posting answers to the quiz is strictly prohibited and is grounds for having your account terminated. If you care about supporting TL, you should be able to read the 4 articles and pass the quiz just fine.

I promise you, I know absolutely NOTHING about Poker, and I passed the quiz easily. It just requires you to read a bit and use some logic.
I used the referral link but messed up on my first attempt at creating an account. It should still count as a TL referral if I never left the page, right?
i dont have a credit card or a account with any of the listed accepted sites to use as my credit card any way around this or can i just not get the 50$
this might seem like a silly question but please bear with me OK, I got the answers right, I've sent it to a poker site [waiting to receive the 50$] how can i check that I have entered the raffle ?
I passed the quiz and it said "You passed the quiz" or something and I realized that I didn't use the referal link. I clicked on the referal link while still logged in and it went to the "You passed the quiz" page again. Did it work or I have to do it again? I also posted this question to the Q&A thread.
Just passed the quiz, wasn't all that hard especially since it gives you a chance to read up and even provides the resources. 50$, possible trip to Korea and signed SNSD album? TL is the best!
Just a quick question... is there a way to confirm if we're actually in the raffle? I followed the instructions using the TL referral link and received my $50 already, so just wondering... ^^
FYI, should put in the OP that only certain rooms can recieve the bonus. Full Tilt and Party poker and some smaller ones. You cannot recieve it at Pokerstars.com. Which might be useful for some people who signed up for pokerstars first. LOL
Haha, I've been playing real money poker with the $50 credit and it has been very enjoyable. I can't wait to see who won this raffle! Hopefully they'll take pictures of their trip like the last winner.
I have a question for anyone who is running this Raffle thing..
I want to sign up, but I already did the PS test and everything like 2 years ago, so I cant do it again.. Can I still enter into this raffle thing? I didnt enter for the first 2 TSL's.
Hey guys, I have a quick question, When I click on the referral link, it goes straight to the pokerstrategy homepage, will it still be valid if I sign up from there? Or should I be using some sort of referral code, I've skimmed through the thread and I can't find any info on it, or maybe i'm just being daft. Any advice is appreciated. thanks.

1 day. Did you regester as the right country ? Im up 150 dollar at the moment but I've pokered before on other sites and just tried to blow it all on a 50dollar table. Working out great .
I've done this before (through a friend, not for TSL2) and done the quiz but i never claimed my bankroll (well i did but it didn't let me use it on partypoker without entering my CC info which i wasn't comfortable with at the time)

one question, I'm very confused. I registered via the TL link like two weeks ago and I now thought I really need to do that quiz! :D But, PokerStrategy says that I already passed the quiz?! O.o
I mean I'm happy, OK, but I hope I'm still eligible then??
Also, which Poker room would you recommend? Should I just take their recommendation?
Hey guys, I did the quiz ages ago(ie a few weeks back) but only recently did I use the promo code while signing up for poker stars and have not received the $50. How long does it usually take? I've done all the details and stuff.
Are there any of the sites that do not require a deposit? Signed up to Party Poker and to receive my $50 i need to deposit at least £15 which i have no intention of doing.
EDIT: Nevermind, in detail guide says you dont have to deposit.

jesus, i have no idea about how to play poker. That wasn't too easy. Had no idea there was so much 'standard tactics'. I think I'm gonna get owned once I get my free $50 though. haha.
Hopefully it works just fine. I assume it's not a problem I used a different email than my tlnet account. I wouldn't mind a trip to Korea

Try contacting PokerStrategy.com support.
The problem fixed by itself. 10 minutes after tried again and went to the right page and was able to register normally. Just finished the quiz... thanks
Ok, i finally got myself to sign up for the raffle ! The whole process is very tedious and took me about an hour furthermore i had to give my contact details to pokerstrategy.com and sone thirdparty pokersite ( I chose full tilt ) I was a bit upset by the whole process actually. The fact that i have to open a money account with a pokersite and even give them my contact details to be able to enter the contest is bothering me. I dont even know if thats legal. I guess its not in US anyways thanks a lot for the awesome contest, and yeah i hope i win
I really want to sign up for this raffle. I'm a Swedish citizen and live in Sweden however I was born in the U.S and I also have a second citizenship in the U.S. Can I still take part or do my U.S citizenship prevent me from this?
Tried to sign up but seriously for someone who dont play poker and honestly never want to play poker, that quizz is a bitch. I spend close to more than half an hour before I gave up. With that much of an effort required its hardly suprising there are so few entrants into the raffle.

International rules on dual (or triple, in case of my wife, who was also born in the US) citizenship requires you to identify yourself as being a citizen of the country you're in if you have that citizenship. So for all intents and purposes, as a Swedish citizen in Sweden, you're Swedish (it's even illegal to identify yourself with your US passport in Sweden, though the extent to which this is enforced differs dramatically between countries).
I wasn't logged on TL while doing the test, passed it though and received money on Full Tilt, my ID there is different from TL ID (Galek on TL, Galekk on full tilt). I have no idea if I have done everything correctly and if I'm in raffle. Would be nice to check it somehow. Used the same emails for TL, pokerstrategy and full tilt.
i already got an account on pokerstrategy. i clicked on the TL Referral Link and logged in into pokerstrategy... am i now automatically registered for the raffle, and can i check it somewhere, to proof, that i´m attend?

You don't need to be logged into TL or use your TL id or email. You just need to use the TL referral link, or put "teamliquid" in the referrer field.
To verify that you've entered you can either contact PokerStrategy.com support, or post in the PokerStrategy.com Q&A Thread.

So I created my account just to say this. Its a really really hard quiz and it takes alot of time. I spent like half and hour reading and the gave up. Because I am sorry I really dont care about poker but I freaking love starcraft. If u dident have the quiz thing u would have some much people signing up.
Heyo, just signed up both here and at Pokerstrategy.net. And the quiz isn't that tough, I mean, you can have all the reference material open in other tabs the whole damn time.

I actually contacted their support, and they replied with that if I did it correctly my "account should be created successfully". For more information, they said to contact TL. :/
I'm still waiting for a response in the Q&A-thread here on TL though, but from what I can tell what they do is check with support there as well?
So now I see why there were less than 100 people who signed up. They want a scan of my drivers license and a scan of a telephone bill. Ontop of all the info I've already given them like address, phonenumber date of birth and everything.. Yeah no thanks.
@DwD - They want a scan of my ID aswell, they say it's random to prevent abuse of the free 50$. Never heard of the site before TSL so idk if I really want to upload anything... -_-
@DwD: You probably have a name which is similar to someone already in the database or something like that. I bet you they have at least 50 'Jan Anderssons', or 'Mikael Jorgenssons' or whatever
Where does it say they have less than 100 participants?
Yikes. You lost me at step 37 in the sign up process. The barrier to entry for this raffle is way too high for me. Best of luck to those of you that actually completed the entire thing.
Yeah I'd love to check as well whether or not I'm properly signed up for the raffle, since there's no confirmation or anything! (I haven't received the 50 bucks yet though, 2 working days the sign up said until that's done)
About a month~ ago, I clicked on the link except nowhere on the page would it indicate that I was referred by TL. I did pass the quiz and get the 50$ but I have no way to know if I am in turn still eligible for this raffle. Is there any way to confirm if we followed the steps correctly?
probably been asked, but regarding this line: "if you signed up last time for the TSL2 raffle you cannot sign up again." does this mean we are unable to be in this draw at all, or we are already in it?
has anyone else sent their ID to Pokerstrategy. If it checks out ill do it. tho i must agree with basilfawlty. it is a huge deal to just sign up for a raffle (not that the price isn't worth it tho)
How great. I did all the process took me almost 2 days to complete everything.
Guess what? pokerstrategy didn't set me my 50$bankroll yet. I'm waiting for 2 day and nothing yet. Now I'm out of the raffle. Damn this.

sign up to this.. a few hours later my emails hacked.
oh joy. saved it all thankfully thanks to googles nifty system where you can hook your email up to a 2nd email to have a link sent to that to change your password

I actually contacted their support, and they replied with that if I did it correctly my "account should be created successfully". For more information, they said to contact TL. :/
I'm still waiting for a response in the Q&A-thread here on TL though, but from what I can tell what they do is check with support there as well?
If you got the $50 and used TL as your referrer (either via the TL link or by putting some form of "TeamLiquid" in the "Referred by" field when you sign up) in 2011, then you're entered. PokerStrategy.com support should be able to tell you who your referrer is.
On May 11 2011 04:06 Shiladie wrote: probably been asked, but regarding this line: "if you signed up last time for the TSL2 raffle you cannot sign up again." does this mean we are unable to be in this draw at all, or we are already in it?
You're not eligible this time, sorry. You had about a 1 in 90 shot last time though.
On May 15 2011 04:05 nakam wrote: Do the referral link really work? When I click it I get redirected to the frontpage with no indication of having been referred. Does it work if I register and use TeamLiquid in the "Referred by (username)" field?
Yep!
I think the way it works is it sets a cookie when you use the TL referral link, so if you sign up any time within 24 hours it will count TL as your referrer.
I posted this in the pokerstrategy Q&A but i think this is the proper place, sorry for the double posting:
Hi, i completed the quiz and signed up for the first pokerroom presented, mansionpoker around a week ago and waited 4 days for the money transfer. Unfortunatly it seems mansionpoker isnt part of the 50$ program anymore, so I quickly contacted the support, signed up for WilliamHill and wrote to support for the new trasfer.
I dont think they are gonna get my money transferred before tomorrow, any chance i still will be in the raffle?

Guess what? pokerstrategy didn't set me my 50$bankroll yet. I'm waiting for 2 day and nothing yet. Now I'm out of the raffle. Damn this.
2 days for nothing, I'm really sad right now. IS there a ways of validating my raffle even without receiving the bankroll? I really tried to sign up for this raffle. =/
------ NVM!! Yeah!! just got my bankroll. Hope it's not too late. I love you all, much love TLovers
Man that sucks. I hope you get in. But srsly? 2 days? You REALLY didn't know much about poker, did you? But in that case, this has been educational for you. So it wasn't all for nothing. You will play better poker now. Passing that quiz through trial and error will teach you some fundamentals.
Still waiting after a week I hope i will be able to sign for a next raffle and not be handicapped by this mess
okay, everything is done, I'm waiting for there email they say they might (would) ask me to prove my ID before sending me the 50$... will I be entered in the raffle ? I've listen to the caster in the TSL 3rd place match today and they said we had to do it today to be in, which I did... can anyone answer me? I want to make sure I'm in, I want my name into this raffle so much you have no idea! ICEprelude on pokerstrategy and on william hill poker
Registered today, and man, that was one pita sign up process, to be perfectly frank... Never the less, it's for a good cause I guess
Question; will I be in the drawing even if I haven't received the 50 bucks from PokerStrategy.com on my fulltiltpoker account yet? Afaik it could take up to two days...
We're actually going to push the deadline back a few days to make sure everyone can get in. The winner will be announced next weekend during TL Attack.

Great news, Pokerstrategy have confirmed my transfer for within 48 hours so hopefully that should mean im qualified. Thanks again TL .

errr.. i dont think it took 2 days because he was failing the quiz...
Well he did say that it took him 2 days "to complete everything". I did realise that probably wasn't what he meant to say. Was trying to be funny (fail).
Anyway, I have to say I'm a little bit bummed about the delay. I really feel we vere given enough time.

I understand the reason for this but I feel that it's highly unfair towards the ones of us who did this months ago. If you set a deadline for such a raffle, it should be held. Will I have to be online during the TLAttack if I'm drawn? I don't think that I'm able to.
I don't want to sound like a whiny bitch, I've just been so exited about this drawing for about a month and feel cheated...

More time? they had 2 months... this is kind of disappointing, the raffle was the real reason i was excited for the finals (as a zerg player pvt isnt that exciting)
I wonder if we have to be viewing TL Attack to know the raffle winner. I had to make time to actually be on to watch TSL finals live today and I don't know if I watch TL Attack live.
Please give us an answer
By the way, changing the deadline the day of the raffle makes things look not too serious.

I agree with you Kfish. I really hope TL won't force us to be online during the TL Attack. I mean.. I had to make time for this as well..
Wow, this is ridiculous. Took time off to watch the finals, especially for the raffle and just find out now that it was postponed a week. Very frustrating. Please post the winner because I definitely can't take more time off to be online for TL Attack. If we are forced to be online to actually win the drawing then that is a crock.

I'm almost certain you don't have to be online to win the drawing. Like, 99.9% certain.
Gotta admit, I feel a bit cheated for your decision not to keep your word. You are post-poning it so more people would submit to the raffle, and I understand that, but the truth is that the people that submitted earlier would have deserved the decision now, not when there are 2x amount the contesters.

This, I also took time off work specifically for the raffle (i don't mind watching VODs as long as they aren't spoiled for me) and now it's postponed until next week when I do have work. Honestly I don't mind that there will be less of a chance of winning the trip but I will mind if we have to be online to watch to see if i've won.
Come on, TL! I love you but this is a tad frustrating!

Well... Can someone from pokerstrategy or teamliquid confirm that we don't have to be online for TLAttack to win? because I cannot be there and I feel as others a little bit snubbed that it was moved at the last second. Not to mention it's a little unfortunate there will be more contestants but if there are so few I guess I see their reasoning.
ALso... I used the help thing on pokerstrategy.com and received no confirmation can I confirm that my user name Saddening on pokerstrategy is indeed eligible?
To me this decision to post-pone the drawing is crap in several ways. To start with, those of us registering in time will now have lots of more participants to compete with. I can't be online for the TL Attack and actually took time to be able to watch the drawing tonight. (yes, the games were epic, but still). I really feel cheated and in a way I feel that despite the obvious reason, lack of participants, this makes TL look kind of bad and nonprofessional... It's unfortunate on so many levels...

i call bullshit on this. there is no way someone will take work off solely for a RAFFLE. do you also take days off work for lottery drawings too? just for that chance to see it live? jesus christ.
postponing it is unfortunate but why the hell is there all this QQ? it's their contest, they gave you notice, just be happy it's happening. you are not ENTITLED to anything.
To be fair, letting more people take part in the raffle just encourages more prize events in the future, so I don't really have a problem with it. It's extremely unlikely you'll have to watch live next week to win anyway.
Besides, the matches tonight were suspenseful enough already without the raffle adding to it.
Sorry, we didn't take into account that it can take up to a couple days between finishing the quiz and actually getting the $50 and entry into the raffle (due to ID checks and such), so it wouldn't be fair that people who entered on Friday or Saturday might not actually be in the raffle.
We also want to give at least a couple days' notice after announcing the deadline. So the deadline is Wednesday at midnight EDT, and the drawing will be during TL Attack.
On May 16 2011 05:58 Renoir_scII wrote: Do we have to watch TL Attack to be eligible to win or will the winner be contacted through other means?
The winner will be contacted either via their PokerStrategy.com account, TL account or email. You don't need to watch live, but it'll be more exciting if you do. :p
Cool indeed, as long as we don't have to see it live it's quite okay! The chances of winning are so minimal anyway! And the more participants the more money I suppose pokerstrategy somehow gets. Which is good for SC and e-sports!

I was originally intended to pen a response to news of the deadline being extended in a somewhat disappointed tone, as the more proactive entrants would now be punished with a smaller probability of winning. I had (incorrectly) assumed that it was extended to help draw viewership to Episode 1 of the new TL Attack and to hopefully show higher numbers to PokerStrategy for the increased likelihood of them showing more support towards future TL events.
Thankfully, I opted to step away and clean my kitchen while I let the adrenaline from the finals subside and thus I came back to see your post. The explanation is greatly appreciated, and indeed extending the deadline long enough for those who entered the raffle this weekend to be confirmed seems like the most fair choice.
Thanks again for the clarification, and thank you for the existence of the raffle in the first place!
haha i was a little bit upset since I don't think I'll be able to watch TL:A, so I thought I had 0 chance of winning then. Good thing we don't have to be online for a chance ^^ but TSL finals were amazing so I'm really happy I caught them no matter what. Still kicking myself that I didn't sign up the first time, i bet the odds are hell of a lot worse than 1 / 90 now >.< Best of luck to all!

I was under the impression that we needed to watch live incase we won - but it isn't the case at all so now i'm just glad i was able to watch an epic grand finals live.
Anyway - I DID actually take time off work for the TSL finals but like i said also specifically to be there if I needed to be contacted (as it says in the thread that you need to watch the grand finals).
Glad i pissed you off enough to post though
Cheers

A bit disappointed with the delayed deadline but I do understand the reasoning behind it. I finished my ID check on Saturday and was a bit nervous whether it would finish in time or not.
In the meantime I've been playing a bit on PartyPoker and lost $4 so far :D.

Indeed, same for me I really wanted to know on saturday, already. But hey, it's also the sponsor for TSL. It also means that we will have slightly less of a chance to win though, and that's sad because I NEED to go :D My guess is that there are something like 500 competitors? Could you also name how many people signed up for the raffle in the TL Attack? I'm interested
Sorry for this stupid question, I have been traveling for a week, am dead tired, almost don't know what timezone I'm in, and just started to watch the VODs of the finals.
