Different story in Japan though from what I heard where the arcade business is still booming because of cultural factors. Such as how for a tightly densely packed population where homes are tiny it's not very comfortable living inviting your mates over to your house for a game and it's better to go to the Arcades instead. Hence why Japan is the top in the world of fighting games.

I hope the fighting community sees this loss as "man, all the good fucking times we had there. RIP" instead of "no, it wasn't it's time to go yet!" Keep on fighting.

Arcades have been around for a long time; the evolution of technology pushes out the social aspect and brings in the impersonal. Natural bullshit almost. fyp np.... There is a huge difference in playing someone in person compared to sitting alone in your livingroom. sad days :[

It was arumor that they were gonna close, the worst case scenario is that they relocate, but they will not be closing straight up. http://twitter.com/#!/zlasher12/status/39868301815463936
