Hey all,
I have a steelseries kinzu which I have been using for the last 6+ months.
It's been fine up until recently where I disconnected it from the USB port to bring to a mates house. Ever since bringing it back to my place, it has begun to occasionally disconnect for 5-6 seconds and then reconnect. I'm not sure why this has begun happening and you can imagine how frustrating it would be whilst playing SC ><
Any help would be great guys, thank you very much!

Dont know if Kinzu has a cable on it but if there is , you might have damaged a part of the cable. Same happened to my Previous MX 518 Logitech , Cable got stuck behind the desk and while i was playing , i wanted to pull a bit more cable on the table so i can feel more comfort and less pressure while moving and with it i damaged the cable which is inside the mouse. Easily fix-able you just need to find the damaged part of the cable , cut that certain place and rewire it again.
note : DO NOT ! try any of this until you are sure its the problem i had. You can test it out by moving different parts of the cable and seeing the laser if it still works. If the cable is damaged at some place the laser will stop when you are moving the cable.
If you have never done this and you dont want to waste your mouse while experimenting on it ,than take it to a professional so he can find the problem.
Hope this helps. Take care.

I think i have the solution for you, i have a kinzu and i had the same problem (ocasionally, from random time to random time) when i just bought the mouse.
I read somewhere (i usually google every freaking aspect before buy something) that some usb ports do not support properly superior reports rates than 125hz. So i set the rate in 125hz from the usual 500 or 1000hz. Then i never had the 5 sec disconnection problem again : ) Also, in practice there is negligible difference between those rate settings, so its ok. GL!
