Hello I am Vojdan (VOJ) Paligora and I’m proud to introduce you to my Starcraft project!
ASTARA (Amateur Starcraft Academy) is all about creating an in game community. We’re striving to get a large motivated community to hang out in game group channels to meet new players, of different or similar levels, races and styles. Our focus is on helping make Starcraft II feel more social than the lonely place it currently feels like for many players. How are we going to do this? Have an active channel for anyone to come and join with games, training and overall enjoy the game with other people. With the future holding training schedules, fun days and KOTHs with whoever wants to play it should be active for most of the day!
FAQ
So is this a clan or what? Sure, you can give it a sort of clan environment, you can get the ASTARA clan tag for the first 100 members but the point of it is to just have a consistent community in game where anyone can come in and have some company playing the game. Most of the competition will be between members, but if the demand is there for it, we can challenge clans and teams to wars or show matches.
How many people do you currently have? We have about 9 members including myself. We are hoping for many more people to join up and the goal is to get over 100 players. If the low player count puts you off, please still show your interest in the comments below or in the channel because without people joining at the very beginning, the numbers won’t ever show.
So where are you guys? Well you can find our group and clan if you Search ASTARA on any server. The chat channels might also yield results. But you can also have a look at our Facebook and Twitter pages: Facebook Twitter

This is cool because indeed: compared to all other Blizzard games that I can think of that I have played in the past, SC2 by far feels the most lonely.
|
I definitely like this idea, and agree with the guy above me. Compared to BW, WC3, D2, SC2 feels so lonely
|
Sounds pretty cool. Nobody wants to play customs these days. Everyone is addicted to ladder. But customs are not only necessary for improvement, but very fun.
I hope this will be a success.

really like this idea, may pop on in now and again.

Good luck! I'll support you guys! I'll hang around chats for game and help if anyone needs it.
|
|
oooh I'd like to maybe join the group...when I have the time
|
I'll definitely check it out
|
I'll definitely check this out, at the very least. :D

Sorry guys I only have one computer I can't be on all the server channels. Mostly on NA at the moment. Come have a look!
|
i have always been looking for chat channels. but whenever i join one (like teamliquid) i always get a chat filled with people, but nobody talking. i talk alot in games like WOW and its the reason why i am always looking for social guilds in that game. but in sc2 the only people i talk with is in arcade or 4v4. never outside of playing. hoping this clan will show me different.

I might be interested, but only if its clean, cba with an ingame twitch-chat.
|
Well I'm totally up for it!
20 members and counting, not bad so far.

When you say clean what do you mean? At the moment we'll have about 6 people, who do swear, but not about stupid things. Everyone gets angry but we aren't a bunch of trolls.

Looking for more people who play on Kr server! I have since been spending more time on with the Koreans and looking members there also!!
|
NA chat almost always seems empty :/
|
So is this clan the right place for me in case I am just looking for some people to play some arcade games together?
I rarely play ladder nowadays, most of the times because I kind of hit a wall in skill and I am not willing to invest more time to increase my skill beyond this point. Especially since chances are that they will deteriorate anyways, once I am on a business trip or during a hectic working week (happens frequently).
