Got the summer doldrums because you're missing your weekly dose of collegiate StarCraft? Don't worry; we've got you covered.
The Collegiate Starleague is happy to announce the Summer Collegiate Champions!
While CSL is a team league throughout the school year, the Summer Collegiate Champions will give rusty players a chance to prove their mettle in the individual arena. Eight invites will be announced. Eight players will qualify. Sixteen will play for the title of Summer Collegiate Champion.
Games in the Summer Collegiate Champions will be played on classic AND brand new maps from a community contest.
YOU MADE THE MAPS! Aug 3, 5pm PST - DreamForge Mapmaking Team Tutorial
Check out the winners of our community map contest. We will use at least 1 submitted map for the Fall season, from the maps accepted into the Summer event, after judging them and taking in feedback from the participating players. This means you could be playing on this during the academic year!

Tipjar Tournament!
We need your help! The Summer Collegiate Champions is a for-fun, for-glory tournament so that our talented individual players (KawaiiRice, Tbeezy, SnixSnipe, Theory, to name a few) have a chance to shine. With this tournament, we want to support players who pursue eSports alongside their academic careers and give young amateurs a platform to play.
If you would like to support the collegiate eSports scene, please help us raise the stakes by contributing to our tipjar. All donations go to the prize pool.
Thanks for your support, and here's to a summer of collegiate eSports!

can you please tell me if something is planned for another csl season for europe? that would be very nice to know

We are planning a European season. European players can play in this, but all games will be on the NA server.

Also, as it has been asked in the reddit thread, we will address it here. Graduating seniors from Spring '13/Summer '13 can participate, as this is a Summer/Pre-Season event, which we consider a part of the previous school year; once the next season begins in Fall, then they are no longer eligible. Incoming freshmen cannot participate, as they are not technically current students yet; there is also the off-chance of them not attending the school as well (people can withdraw, their acceptance revoked, ect.).
|
An initial email has been sent out to registrants who do not have the standard .edu suffix, in order to participate you must use your official school email. If your school does not give students an official email service, please contact us separately. Any participants without proper registration will be dropped from the brackets, so please make sure to input the correct email type as well as checking typos, as we will send out the information through the registered email; we are not responsible for bounced emails due to such errors.

Oh, yay seems I'm eligible. This should be fun :3
