Mind shows great preparation and improvement in his play and Ssak deserve to crash out for not rising to the occasion. Last: got relatively lucky in his SSL10 run where he mostly cheesed in nontvt matchups and did not have to show his true hand in such matchups. was brutally exposed by Killer (thanks HBR!) and Zero this tourney. Mong: seems to be very busy with his Honeynchip online business since his ssl10 run, any regular afreecans will observe he doesnt stream and practice much at night recently compared to his glory pighead days. his form and overall play slipped which was enough for a improving hero to beat him comprehensively. Hiya: Never been the type to practice seriously, got by on his best matchup TvP for SSL10 and ran out of luck meeting Bisu early this tourney. Still he always has a relatively good TvZ and has no excuses for losing to hero and especially freaking Larva, even if the latter was just a pride match..

And if it did, would it have paid off in an even fight too, or only against an outmatched foe such as Mong?

I was really impressed the way he was able to deal with Mongs mech... Now, Mong wasn't able to keep up and it was kind of evident that Mong doesn't have the necessary multi tasking to play at the level of Hero. But still, very well done Hero.

Games where great but I'm so glad I got a seat. My dodgy leg could do without standing for 40min games. In other news when did all the PC Bang's shut. I've got no phone and assumed it would be a breeze to just go into a PC bang anytime I wanted and contact my friends. I guess everyone having internet on thier phones is killing the demand.

Mong was very solid but lacked a bit of star sense with his early to mid game MnM play. There were a few openings where he could have pushed Hero's third a bit better but he sat back too much.

About finals: honestly I think no matter who advances, both Bisu and Mind will make a great confrontation and opposition against Hero. But Mind really likes to apply semi all-ins and cheeses against zerg like in his KSL run (Well, Bisu is known as a well cheese performer too).

A girl held up a sign saying she came from Geoje too (I wonder if we where on the same bus). I met Nick who came from Daegu and someone else held up a sign saying he was from Busan. Many people travelled along way just to watch some Starcraft. It's good to see. Games where great but I'm so glad I got a seat. My dodgy leg could do without standing for 40min games. I guess everyone having internet on thier phones is killing the demand. Are you sure there weren't any signs? Cuz from my experience they're all over the place but they're usually hidden underground so you won't see them by scanning the horizon, but by looking at the signs. I literally didn't notice a single one in three weeks until this guy with me at the KSL finals told me 'but they're everywhere, look!' and just a few feet away from us there was one, so we got in and it had Brood War and LoL all over the place. Had a good three or four games, perfect way to end the day.

While having solid performances against Protoss and Zerg, his weakness against Terran prevented him from going far. By defeating Mong 3-0 to advance to the Ro4, it seems that Hero has now eliminated even this weakness. Q: How do you feel about making it to the Ro4? A: I expected the Ro8 to be really tough, so I'm very glad. Q: Why did you think it would be that tough? A: First of all, because the opponent was Terran, preparing for the match as a whole was difficult. I thought a lot about it, and felt that if I didn't put a lot of effort into the preparation, I would lose, so I thought about preparing my strategies. It seemed that even with preparation, victory was in no way guaranteed. Q: During your progamer days, your vs.-Terran play always held you back. A: Yes, in the old days I really couldn't play against Terran. But recently I think I've improved a lot in this match-up. Back in the day I still felt I should at least not be worse than other Zergs. Q: It looked as though, after winning the first game, you were more comfortable preparing the rest of the match. A: I put everything into that first game. But it seemed that whatever I do, the game would come down to a build order rock-paper-scissors fight, so I just planned for the best outcome. When I saw what my opponent was doing, it was easy to make the right decisions. Q: You just barely held off the Terran attack. Was that on purpose? A: That was not intentional, I just tried to do everything to make sure he doesn't get through, and it ended up just barely working. I think that I might have won thanks to that engagement. Q: It seems both your attack and defense skills against Terran have improved. A: You won't hear such words coming out of my mouth, but it does feel a bit like that. But in order to make it to the finals, I think I need to improve more. Q: You're being picked as the player who could take out Bisu. A: That is an honor. Of course it's nice to be thought of as the rival of another player. If I can make it to the finals this time, I want to pay him back for the defeat in the Sonic Starleague finals, so I hope Bisu will also make it. Q: Your Ro4 opponent will be Protoss. A: Free and Movie are players who have been doing well since old times. Still, if I'm not careless, I think I will win. Q: A few finals words? A: I want to express my deepest gratitude to Mind, Ssak and Last for helping me prepare for this match. I'll make sure to get to the finals.
