Spawning locations are now fixed again after that distinguishable colors(for spectators).
If you are playing on Fighting Spirit RED color, you are located at 1OC. BLUE = 11OC. TEAL = 7OC. PURPLE = 5OC.
Same goes to all ladder maps ATM. I hope someone delivers the message to the Blizzard forum.

PS: Heard a rumor that this affected for ASL matches also. + Show Spoiler +and I think this is true.

This was an unintended consequence of the red vs blue implementation, and we'll be reverting this change in a hotfix as soon as possible.

Too bad the ASL integrity was already destroyed with that Island map

the ASL hosts its games in TvB and not melee mode.
however on reviewing yesterday's games, both transistor games had different spawn points.

but the player with the color red spawned left position, blue spawned top right and teal spawned bottom right. so as long as you scout his color, you know where his base is.

It's given us some of the best and most entertaining games I've ever watched in StarCraft. It's thrown some diversity into the game and given players a chance to stretch their strategic abilities in a setting that isn't comfortable.
This is StarCraft, it's supposed to be challenging and pushing the status quo for 1v1 strategy and ASL have accomplished that with these new bold and exciting maps.

Not to mention now that we have more information on how island maps function, going forward we can tailor them better...

So Tournaments are a testing ground for special maps? And more information on Island Maps? Was that the first island map in 20 years of Starcraft?

You are confusing showmatches with a tournament match. The trick is to have a competitive, fair and entertaining game. What did Artosis say? 100% Winrate for the favored race across all ASL matches? And for some reason they got rid of the map

Sparkle is one of the more balanced maps in this ASL, and it'll be back in the ro8.

I hate to burst your bubble, but tournaments have ALWAYS been the testing ground for "special" maps. Here's a few to consider: Monty Hall, Outsider, Pioneer Period, HitchHiker, Peaks of Beakdu, Blue Storm, 815, Baekmagoji, This isn't even factoring in the proleague only maps like Arkanoid that were equally experimental.
As a result of this innovation, a game that hasn't had a balance update since 99 is still a spectator sport.

Do you really believe that this one thing should be the testing ground for a map like that?
