Format:
2-day event
- May 18th will be an open bracket available for anyone to compete, no restrictions outside of the BaseTradeTV ban list. Ideally this will feature dreamhack-like group staging, leading to an eventual top 4, however may be "dumbe down" to a simple double-elimination bracket depending on participation numbers & sign ups.
- May 19th will be the top 4 from day 1 challenging the 4 players flown in from the online playoffs. There will be a FFA to determine seeding in the RO8, it's highly encouraged players come prepared to make alliances & back stab.
FFA (There will be a time cap to prevent stalemates, similar to the recent TwitchRivals event) to determine seeding order

There are lots of hotels, and cheap AirBnB's in the area, and most noteworthy the Abereen Skytrain Stop. The Skytrain stop is a 5 minute walk away from the venue, and is accessible easily through all of Richmond & Vancouver, so you could easily stay in downtown Vancouver and take a 30 minute trip to the venue (the Skytrain is very cheap!). This is really important due to the fact there is NO UBER OR LYFT available in British Columbia, so plan accordingly.
The Venue Address is Net8 Arena #101-4411 No.3 Road Richmond, BC Canada
Event will be approximately 11:00AM - 6:00PM (PDT, local time) each day
Be prepared to see this a lot, and get some cash before coming, as most non-chain stores in Richmond will not accept credit cards.

The one time there's an event in Vancouver, I happen to be out of town.
Ah well, I'll be sure to tune into the stream.

Always looking forward to offline event!

Got my ticket, can't wait! Super pumped to support Starcraft events in my home town!

Jealous of...Vancouver-ites? Vancouverians? Whatever the case, will definitely be watching.

Nice to see the northwest getting a live event. it seems Blizzard compensates for being in the southwest by putting a metric tonne of sponsored SC2 events in the north east.

Considering buying a ticket since it's only like a 40 minute drive but I'm trash at sc2. If you buy a contender ticket do you have access to a computer for the entire event or just when you are supposed to play in tournament?

hope this all goes well for everyone - super cool to see a tournament in the region and I am regretful that I cannot attend

I’m here! Everyone is just getting set up. Spotted ZG, Wardii, and Maynarde.
|
Got to talk to Maynarde a bit. Maynarde is a super cool guy. 14 hour flight doesn’t even faze the dude one bit.

It would be nice if the be right back screen gave some information about how long to wait and what match is up next

Damn wish I had gone to this. I'm outside Vancouver, but need pass for the wifey too.
