Most people try to reform themselves after the first silence, or even the second. Yet this guy has now been reprimanded by the Silence system 7 times with large volumes of abusive chat reports and is still parading around his in-game and forum ban like he's the victim. Other publishers like Riot would have probably perma'd the guy by now.

Won only 40%. I can understand why he has the lowest winrate in QM. Sad because he became my favorite hero and QM is my prefered gamemode. Had a lot of soul chrushing games. But I think the last one vs. genji, tracer, maiev, valla and junkrat cured me of this urge to play KTZ.

He's really not a QM friendly hero my man, KTZ needs to be brought out in a draft with no super dive heavy heroes on the enemy team and a solid burst heal and peel heavy tank on his own team, that way he can be protected early game while he get's his stacks. KTZ is a feast or famine hero, I think if you keep practicing him, maybe at least get a friend or two to crank out some games where one person is an ETC and another is a nice bursty healer and you'll have a much better time.

My problem with the penalty is four-fold: 1. Blizzard outright lied to the community about the automated nature of the report system. They claim that silences are only applied 'after investigation' yet there have been plenty of instances where the system has been proven to be automated. Look at pro gamers like Grubby and Chu8 who have been silenced live on stream due to players throwing bogus reports at them. If these reports were actually investigated by a human like Blizzard pledged, these types of unfair silences wouldn't be commonplace. Look at this /r/wow poster who got muted and was forced to change his character name just mere minutes after he he ganked a salty multiboxer and had loads of bogus reports thrown at him with all the multiboxer's logged in characters. The worst part about this case is that Customer Support actually refused to restore this guy's character name because another player took it - until the thread actually blew up in their faces on Reddit and sparked the intervention of a Community Manager. Look at the case of PreparedWoW, a multiboxer who got a player swiftly and wrongly auto-permabanned by throwing cheating reports at him with all 60 of his characters. Unfortunately, the thread about this and the Twitch VOD were nuked from orbit and I can't find any archived pages or footage. Or what about the case of Asmongold, a WoW player who got auto-silenced for typing "My name is Asmongold and I love WoW" 2. Blizzard's Customer Support currently refuses to give chat logs and rudely shuts down appeals with automated cut-and-paste replies without giving any evidence. They have argued that due to their policies they do not reveal details of account investigations beyond what is in the initial email, when this in itself is in breach of EU data protection law and EU GDPR, which gives a person the right to access information held on them. Want sources? Here and here (although in the latter case, this streamer worded his argument horribly and came across as really rude.) 3. Silenced players are not allowed to queue for Ranked play because Blizzard feels that 'communication is integral to a team's success.' Yet despite this, you can still queue for Ranked game modes if you have Team Chat disabled in the Options menu. Players who optionally choose to mute their teammates are an even greater liability than a Silenced player, because at least Silenced players can still read chat. This is hypocrisy of the highest order and a double-standard visible from space. It also tells me that the Heroes of the Storm development team have no idea what they're doing. 4. Blizzard's Customer Support currently rejects silence appeals for trivial reasons. Want sources to prove this? Russian streamer's appeal rejected for 'sarcastic remarks about a player's skill'. As shown in the actual chat logs, he was not being sarcastic, insulting or offensive at all. Even then, banning somebody for 'sarcasm' for just one day is unacceptable, let alone the weeks and months that some players have been getting. Another player's appeal was rejected depsite Blizzard finding no evidence of abusive chat. Instead they justified the chat ban by arguing that the community perceived his gameplay as being toxic. _________________ The annoying thing is that the Silence penalty and new Report system has been in all of Blizzard's games since mid-2015, and has been openly criticised for being entirely automated and ripe for abuse. Yet Blizzard has done nothing to address this feedback in these three years. The most we actually got from an official statement from Blizzard was an empty PR statement from Kheluriel, an EU Community Manager

Following a review of your case, I can confirm that the evidence presented was correct, and that the subsequent action taken was appropriate. Our decision in this matter stands, and will not be overturned. Please find below some quotes from your chat logs that were considered as part of our investigation into your appeal: "let me get god damn soloed tyvm" "10 minutes in aand you only hit 6 heroes with Flame Buffet. Honestly, if you do not have a clue how to play Alexstrasza, stick to Vs AI games." "Then I hope you get banned from the game :nexushappy:" "l2heal" "'first time' is no excuse" "for how dumb you've been playing" "awful team, nobody listens, noboddy knows how to play their role" "let me get killed why don't you" "jesus christ" "Wrong. You don't even know how to play Valeera" "you just stood around like an afker" "idiots" "but if you do less than 10k hero damage as valeera 11 minutes into a match, you should uninstall" "Or better yet, why are you playing Quick Match when there are game modes that cater towards your lack of skill like Co-Op vs AI" We now consider this matter closed, and would not look to enter into further communication on the matter. Can anyone tell me how any of this deserved an 8 day ban from Hero League? Especially when I regularly see, screenshot and report much more offensive and hateful chat in the game and never get any of these reports actioned by Blizzard? The fact that my next silence (should I continue to play this game after how I've been treated by Blizzard) will be 16 days long and that anything this petty will be used against me doesn't make me want to support Blizzard anymore. Blizzard made a good game but I swear their current report and silence system is a fucking joke.

In any case don't compare your actions to the worst you can find but rather to how a decent human being would act. Some of these (like "jesus christ") are quite bening others however have no value for the receiver, spread negativity and serve only as a vent for your frustration (at the cost of everyone else). Would silence too. Actually it would depend on if this is really everything and over how many games this was. But I imagine that there is much more that wasn't looked at because this was already enough.

And let me elaborate on the stuff I’ve typed. No, I did not type more offensive stuff than this. You’re implying that I’m hiding something to make myself look better when this is not the case. This is legitimately the evidence that Blizzard gave me of my toxic chat. It’s not like they cobbled this from one match either because I remember these lines from lots of matches. I used to be a far more toxic player than this who would throw out cruder language, and I honestly deserved the first two silences which were applied to my account. I’ve been a player since Closed Alpha too. The third silence was one I didn’t deserve but unfortuntely I don’t know what I typed to deserve it before the reps kept refusing to actually provide me with chat logs and just kept closing down my tickets with no further reply when I kept asking them. There is a lot of benign stuff in there. I mean silencing for typing stuff like “jesus christ” is petty as hell. As for some of the other stuff I typed, I had very good reason to do so. The things I typed towards that Alexstrasza player were totally justified. He went the Dragonqueen build which involved taking the Flame Buffet talent at Level 1. That quest talent requires you to land 20 Flame Buffets on enemy heroes that are already burning to empower it so that it offers cooldown reduction on your trait. Completing that quest is MANDATORY to playing that specific build since you have to maximise the uptime of Dragonqueen by landing constant Flame Buffets to lower the cooldown of your trait. That would also heal you too with the Level 7 talent meaning that you could heal more often. Flame Buffet not only has a measly 2 second cooldown but also refunds its mana cost whenever it hits a burning target. This means that it should be really easy to chain up Flame Buffets on enemy heroes and complete the quest. This guy didn’t. By the time I checked the stats screen, he only landed 6 of 20, which is less than 1 a minute. That is deplorable performance, and it’s not like we had a bad team composition and he kept getting instagibbed either. How is it offensive to tell players that they shouldn’t be playing PvP game modes if they don’t have knowledge of the game or how to play a hero? Underperformance ruins the experience of your entire team. Besides, the DotA community back in the days of DotA Allstars used to advise newbies to practice in bot games. Then there’s the Valeera player. This was a QM game where a guy that had been whining in chat the whole game about how bad his team was and how bad Valeera was to play. He did about 900 damage per minute on a hero that can do absurd amounts of hero damage and has some of the best stun and silence openers in the game. What I typed was in response to him after I was fed up of his whining and bitching. “You just stood around like an AFKer” - this was directed towards a guy who just stood there and did nothing while I got ganked. He was on the same screen as me, yet didn’t attack nor cast a single ability. This is the kind of crap that is considered intentionally feeding in other MOBAs run by more competent publishers. In fact, much of the stuff quoted was me getting frustrated at teammates that refused to listen to pings, refused to warn the team of enemy heroes leaving lane to gank (which is essential in a MOBA like Heroes where there is little to no warding whatsoever) and at teammates who would reply really rudely and offensively when I tried to shotcall or politely call out errors. What was displayed was what happened after I lost my nerve with these people repeatedly ignoring me or telling me to shut the fuck up in the rudest way possible With additional context, these instances of ‘abusive chat’ suddenly don’t look so heinous now, do they? How can you think an 8 day Hero League ban is fair for what was stated above? The punishment should fit the crime and this is like throwing somebody into a Miami supermax prison for 5 years just because they got a parking ticket. I don’t want to continue supporting Blizzard because they think pandering to snowflakes who cannot take criticism or negative feedback is okay. The fact is that my next silence will be 16 days in length regardless of what I type in chat. This is an unfair system that should have been nuked from the game three years ago.

If I were you, I would refrain from chatting altogether, so there is no chance for you to get silenced at all. I'm playing this game since closed beta as well and have not a single day silence/ ban on my account. Maybe compare yourself to that and not to the worst
