Suits without Mike...what? That's like Bones without Booth, or Castle without Beckett.

Okay so... That should have TOTALLY been the final episode of the entire series. The spin-off show with Jessica in Chicago is set up, Louis and Sheila are together, and Mike and Rachel are married and leaving. You can't have Suits without Mike Ross; he was the entire premise of the show. Season 8 will be hugely jumping the shark with Katherine Heigl, and it's going to be weird and dead and it'll make the series worse.

they could just make mike take harveys offer for senior partnership and end it with zane specter litt + mike rebuilding the firm. the only loose end would have been harvey and donna which they could have wrapped up to an extent if they wanted to. i would have been happier with that ending tbh

+ Show Spoiler + 1. Harvey conceding managing partner to Robert => Harvey getting back in the game, possibly with Alex as his #2 instead of Mike, and the old school lawyer pair kicking ass was what I loved about the first two seasons of Suits. 2. Katherine Heigl did pretty well. 3. Looks like Katrina will be Donna's girlfriend replacement for Rachel. Should work out well. 4. Robert and Donna bonding over Rachel and Mike was cute. 5. I hope to see Alex kicking ass with Harvey, and I'm curious as to how the battle over "next name partner" between Samantha and Alex will go.

Why can't he be "in the game" as Managing Partner? What the fuck is a Managing Partner anyway? It just sounds like some bullshit title made up for the purposes of creating drama in the show. It's like the writers are trying to give him some "humanity" to show that he does have "vulnerability" and "humility" or some bullshit but ends up making him just come across as weak because he can't handle being a "shark" lawyer whilst being a "Managing Partner" at the same time. Either that or they're just catering to the black audience and giving them a token reason to watch the show because it shows the empowerment of having black people in leadership positions. I guess that's just the politically correct environment we live in today.

Jessica has repeatedly pointed out that that transition is hard for Harvey, Robert pointed it out in this episode when Harvey broke his word to stay out of the wager, and we see Harvey constantly unable to let other people attempt growth and deal closures by meddling and fixing it himself (e.g., Alex vs. Samantha, in this very episode). I think it speaks to his character very well, and it's a nod to what the original Harvey was before he was forced to fill Jessica's shoes. In my opinion, this show was at its best when Harvey and Mike were out in the field, kicking ass and taking names as an awesome one-two punch, while Jessica was orchestrating high-level chess in the background to masterfully take care of the firm as a whole. Jessica was pretty good at putting the firm first and looking at the bigger picture, while Harvey's wheelhouse was doing the high-level closing on a case-by-case basis (eventually with Mike as his number two). I'd be very happy if we see some parallels to this old structure, even if Alex is replacing Mike and Robert is replacing Jessica. It could work, Alex and Robert have plenty of credibility, and it's a heck of a lot better than a further descent into soap opera drama. As far as your random rant goes about catering to blacks, that doesn't even warrant a serious response... especially since this isn't the first tirade about assuming political correctness and critiquing demographics you've tried having in this thread, so please leave it alone.

Also that + Show Spoiler + Harvey didnt see the obvious trap from Robert, was kind of bad. Even a three year old would understand that Robert is baiting Harvey to do something stupid. Don't think it is logical he fell for such an obvious trap ;/ But I guess there was no better way to make Robert Managing Partner..

I'm excited to see where this season will go.

harvey goes back to doing normal lawyer things and we have a new louis litt that harvey gets to kick ass. in a way i think its a blessing that mike isnt here now because harvey had become so dependent on mike to carry him in the last couple of seasons, itll be nice to see harvey carrying his own ass like the early seasons. the one thing that bugged me though was the fact that the asian girl was literally the first asian to ever appear on the show and shes the one to get fired. like wtf??????????? i mean....why not just fire a completely random white person instead of bringing in an asian for the sake of "diversity" only to remove them from the show 10 seconds later. that was stupid as shit
