RESULTS
The results for the Ridiculously Entertaining Kerfuffle are out. See the winners!
While the title of this thread implies this is a tournament, it's not really. It's more of a competition for pro players to engage in so I'm putting this in SC2 General.
Dear Pro Players attending WCS Valencia
Are you good at Starcraft 2? Can you give exciting interviews? Well good news then, I'm running a contest where you can win big cash money for doing ceremonies/trash talking on the main stage of WCS Valencia 2018.
$1500 USD Base Prize
1st Place: 50% - $750 USD base
2nd Place: 25% - $375 USD base
3rd Place: 25% - $375 USD base
1st Place: 50% - $750 USD base
2nd Place: 25% - $375 USD base
3rd Place: 25% - $375 USD base
So what exactly do you have to do?
- At 2018 WCS Valencia, on the main stage and on stream, do your best ceremony, celebration or give your best trash talk(that does not break restrictions listed below).
- Submit the clip of your moment to me(feardragon) via twitter/e-mail/discord/whatever within 1 week of the event.
- I and a few other people I select will decide on the top 3 most entertaining/memorable trash-talk/ceremonies and they will earn a cash prize.
EXTRA DETAILS ON RESTRICTIONS:
- Only matches played on the main stage of WCS Valencia 2018 will be eligible.
- Within reason, your ceremony/trash talk MUST be on the main stream camera.
- You must abide by the WCS Player Handbook's Code of Conduct. Don't do anything that will actually get you in trouble with Blizzard or DreamHack.
- Nothing obviously racist, sexist, or seriously and genuinely offensive(like referencing a family member's death or something stupid like that.
- Within reason, do not physically involve your opponent or someone else unless they've agreed to it. I'm not going to disqualify you for doing a fake-out handshake with your opponent but before you decide to grab the host's hands during your interview and start dancing with them, make sure you're not crossing personal space boundaries.
- Don't be an idiot. This is about entertainment for the audience, not making your opponent feel like shit or disrespecting the tournament.
- This entire competition is entirely arbitrary. If you disagree with how I came up with my decision, deal with it cause it's my money. Also, if I personally think you crossed a line you'll be disqualified without hesitation.
Some examples of fair game are:
- Waving your country flag on stage
- Busting out a rhyming diss in the interview about how your opponent has a 0% chance of winning
- Raising your hands up and riling up the crowd more after your well earned victory.
While points are definitely given for ingenuity, the goal is just more entertainment. You don't have to fake excitement or come up with some next level meme, we just want to see you having a good time and enjoying your victories or having some fun with the interviews.
Dear everyone else who likes this idea
If you are interested in supporting this idea, the best things you can do are to help spread the word so players know about this competition and consider contributing to the prize pool. Coupon code="RektValencia
