He would, but this website says that community figures are less moderated than regular users. Fair? Probably not, but one could always stop using TL if necessary. I remember IdrA got banned before for abusing this "right".

So other moderators who have shown their dedication to the site obviously have it easier. As a 15 year user, I've never really seen a mod abuse their status by flinging insults at a user without consequences from the Admins.

I feel like player bashing rarely gets warned/banned (In fact, I don't think I ever witnessed it), no matter the context (if someone tries to explain why X player wasn't playing well (which is fine and shouldn't count as player bashing) vs straight up calling him bad). Frankly, considering how common player bashing (or what seems like it) is, and how little it's warned/banned, the most surprising thing is how it's still an option when you report someone. I got banned for player bashing

I don't know if this is what you meant, but I don't think the moderator who banned me got punished. You could see ban here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/closed-threads/32696-automated-ban-list-latest-gelkeyfim?page=2059#41178

He said you were posting *like* someone of an inferior moral caliber, and to not do that. Maybe a subtle distinction, but important.

Maybe a subtle distinction, but important. a valid distinction; but the use of the word was still unjustified. But it's Kwark; we know there's a long list of semi-violations by Kwark, so it seems consistent with plexa's stated rule of ignoring minor violations by staff/mods.

Most mods realize that as a matter of professionalism, they should hold themselves to a higher than average standard and avoid creating these kinds of situations in the first place. A select few use their moderation privileges as a "get out of jail free" card for a thousand minor offenses that also gives them the right to settle grudges using that power.

PM me if you see a staff member making a minor infraction. I will forward them over to the admins if they're serious enough to warrant actions from the higher-ups.

I'm not sure how to answer that. mostly I was expecting a clearer sense of what is/isn't something deemed worthy of note. probably it's just less clear than the basic question, so not worth worrying about.

Got a warn for "hyperbolic content" while i'm able to prove the point with maths. On the other side, full sarcastic replies and ad hominem bashing, "i wonder what you are smoking" just above posts were not warned. I fail to understand the logic of TL moderation, you can see dozens of posts where posters use hyperboles, sarcasm, say things without any arguments, bash casters, or posters, or pro gamers and nothing happens, and suddendly a guy is moderated while ten others did the exact same thing before... it seems that about SC2 balance it depends more on the moderator personnal views : If the moderator plays terran : very friendly moderation for terrans posters, but really agressive moderation if they are protoss or zerg posters.
