Recently at Blizzcon there has been an exhibition match between Rain and Last. It is uploaded in Youtube as well as in Twitch by Starcraft official channel. I probably can not express my full feelings how disgusted i am at how awful the experience is watching this on Twitch, and here is why:
1. Starting with the fact, once you open Twitch, you are ''insulted'' in your face by a popup window of some irrelevant video which you can not even disable, only pause. I came to search for Starcraft, and before i even could do that i got some stupid video playing i do not care about. Logging in does not solve the problem. I want to ask was this ''in your face irrelevant video pop up shit'' present a long time ago? Because i rarely visit Twitch.
2. Search does not exist - if you search, you get live search results, but you can not ENTER the search like in Youtube for a list of results.
3. The WORST thing are the people who comment - ''Starcraft sucks'', ''where is Starcraft 2'', ''is this Warcraft 3 reforged'', ''what is this game'', ''league of legends is better''..
The fact with number 3 is that i really rarely see such comments on Youtube stream, but a third of Twitch stream seems to be composed of imbeciles..

1. This was introduced relatively recently, it shows streams that are featured on that particular day, it is kind of annoying because I only go to Twitch to watch starcraft, I just quickly click on one of the streams I follow to get to that page...
2. You can customise your search, you can select whether you're searching games, particular channels or previously uploaded videos
3. I think it's because people that watch starcraft on youtube know what they're looking for, people on twitch will end up there by chance (especially because the official starcraft channel mostly broadcasts SC2)

use twitch.tv/directory to go straight to the games directory

I prefer watching starcraft from twitch since you never know when youtube VODs are deleted just becouse of a 15 sec clip from a copyrighted song . Afreeca lags and has no quality options, i can't watch any vods there.

I don't seem to be facing the same problem as you, I just click the link from the live thread or search for Starcraft, then I go to video clips if I'm not watching live, and I don't show comments since I don't care.

I have never been a fan of twitch’s inteface and I don’t known that it deserves to be usas #1 streaming site. Livestream and ustream were kind of bad as well but someone needs to code a modern day formatted site with up to date appropriate no lag, annti spoiler, clear organization of videos, and better fps and buffering. I agree with your complaints.

#3 I don't think matters. Or rather, doesn't matter to me personally.
#2 sounds like something they should work on. I'm also coming from TL for a recent event so I know right where the VOD is and that it's recent. Very important feature though since many people like watching older events.
#1 I don't recall. If it's not just an add before the video, and you're getting hit with an actual pop up browser that's ridiculously obnoxious.
That's my two cents on it, more or less agree with what's being said. Don't think a thread here will do anything sadly 😓

#1 never has this happened to me. I also as someone above said, click direct links and look for videos in the directory.
#2 I can not comment on this, I have never used search in twitch.
#3 why are you paying attention to them at all? I just ignore the chat or hide it for a better personal experience.

I Do hope that you dont get upset by every stupid comment you hear or Read because life Will be hard.

Oh boy, a Twitch bashing thread. Let me join in. * Requires JS from 4 different domains before it gives you the video, even more if you want the chat * Video injected ads and a terrible business model in general * Player bug where the audio will loop for a few seconds, then the video will miss keyframes and start showing garbage, and it just stays glitchy and fucked up for several minutes or until you put it out of its misery * Sometimes there's no quality option for the stream * UI clutter and dark patterns, here click this, click that, you have 11 new somethings even though you're not logged in, related channels, whatever, the whole site feels like it's designed for spastic monkeys and I get cancer every time just from visiting.
If you have the option to stream on Afreeca instead, please do so. Afreeca has some issues too, but it's far less horrible. Twitch is currently in the "pump and dump" stage of its business lifecycle, it's not gonna get any better.

You're probably new to the twitch chat? Dont ever take twitch chat seriously nor get triggered by it. Just remove the chat while watching the games
