What advice was that?

The "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" quotation.

Kobe always wanted to be the one taking the shot so laker fans wouldn’t be embarrassed that smush Parker was shooting their teams shot attenpts

last year Siakam went 15 for 95 from 3 the first 4 months of the season.

I think Derozan is better at running the offense than anyone else on the Spurs. Injuries allowed Derozan to show what he could do. I'd like to see him running the show full time in San Antonio.

Time to blow the Wizards up.

I guess you could say they've hit a Wall.

so far the bucks have been the best team in the east

JR smith is longer with the cavs. He is "working with the team to find a trade".

Figured you meant this one, and it's not a Michael Jordan quote.
It's a Wayne Gretzky quote, first told to Bob Mackenzie in 1983, the full quote being "You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don't take. Even though there is only a 1-5% probability of scoring"
Later in 1996, he attributed the quote to his father as advice given to him. “My dad says 100 percent of the shots you don’t take don’t go in.”

a lot of people don't know this but Bob Mackenzie got his first job in TV with his brother Doug Mackenzie on a show called "The Great White North". Bob opened each show saying .. "hi i'm bob mackenzie and this is my brother doug"

there is no way a 22 year old super arrogant Wayne Gretzky said "only a 1-5% probability of scoring". He does not express himself like that. Furthermore, from 1981 to 1983 he scored on 22% of his shots and he acted like he was going to score 3000 NHL goals and continue scoring at 20% until he was the same age as Gordie Howe.
back to basketball , So , after all this BS.. Markelle Fultz is going to see an independent shoulder specialist at the behest of his attorney. i'm tellin' ya.. if he goes under the knife... he'll beat Dion Waiters for totalling FUBAR-ing an injury. and i thought Lowry was bad ....
"Fultz will not participate in team practices or games until after the the specialist has had a chance to evaluate him"
|
The Kings maintain the >.500 record!! Hell yeah
|
so is the shoulder specialist Fultz is scheduled to see going to examine his wrist problem? LOL. i'm tellin' ya. you can't make this stuff up. Fultz needs to employ people who are better liars or do the Kawhi thing and say zero.

The Fultz case is so puzzling. Gone from NBA-ready smooth offensive player to complete bust real quick.

It is going to be a great 30 for 30 some day. Whether he turns it around or not. It is also interesting that Fox (pick 5 is starting to look like the best player from that draft and Mitchell (pick 13). With Taum falling in love with the mid range this year his stock has fallen some. It will be interesting to see how a redraft will look in 5 years. Later first picks like Allen and OG are also developing nicely.

Derozan is posting the best defensive metrics of his career playing point guard. At that position he is rarely yelling at the officials for missing a call at the rim while his team mates are at a 4 on 5 disadvantage on the break out.
Age is also a factor in Demar's improvement on defense. Demar is 29. Studies have shown players peak as defenders later in their careers than they do as offensive players. around 26 is the peak time for offense and around 29 is the peak time for defense.

He seems to have taken steps more quickly than people thought.
Fultz was supposed to be the can't miss guy because he already had a shot, but alas something broken.
I still like Tatum a lot because he's got the potential to be a 2 way guy in a way that no player under 6'5'' can ever be .

After last year I would have said Tatum the best no doubt, now I think who you would rather have depends on what else you have on your roster. Tatum could end up is the best still, it is just impressive the growth Fox has had to even be in the conversation.

Bjelica, Shumpert, and Hield are shooting the lights out from 3 ... forcing the floor to open up and giving Fox lots of room to operate. In particular , Bjelica is over 50% from 3 with ~65 attempts. Part of Fox's early season success is due to lots of open floor.

The strange thing is that Tatums mid range looked like it was a real weapon last year. I don't know the stats, but I think he made them with decent efficiency. And the impressive thing was that he looked like he could always create a good shot from the mid range against almost any defender. This year his in between game has looked like garbage and he has been very criticized to the point where he doesn't even try it anymore.
But that is just one thing that is mysterious about the Celtics this season (Rozier? Brown?). With the Celtics playing like this and my other favorite teams - Warriors and Spurs - losing, basketball hasn't been much fun to watch lately. And here I thought I had hopped on a couple of fool-proof bandwagons...
