it would've been way nicer if it was someone wearing the jersey instead of the jersey in an enclosed glass display

It's dumb tbh, the only valid feasible NBA corporate reason I see for this is ads. There are plenty other reasons of course, but I doubt NBA would want them, for branding or any other reasons: 1. As demoed - change name/number (while jersey color and design stays the same). Why? This is obviously for the fans. 2. Show player stats. Which is dumb because unless they have this on the entire front or back side in maga large font size, no one watches basketball to read whats on the players jersey. 3. Show player vitals? or even a flashing super saiyan animation on players who are on fire??? Ala early 2k? Take my money NBA! So. the level-headed corporate-driven reasons are: 1. For players: jerseys that are ad-friendly (in size, design, and to accommodate multiple ads in a spot? FUCK NBA then) 2. For buyers: customizable (through microtrans) jersey tags and labels and designs. For those who might ask, this will likely be made using flexible e-ink or threads, IMHO, the most potential innovation in NBA is up close drone cams, designated ref cams, or even chest cams on players to get a really intimate experience of the game.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/basketball/nba/nba-fiba-announce-plans-bring-pro-league-africa/ how good will the players be? Will the league compete with the G-League for players? I think the NBA clubs want their best prospects a short drive away. I think we're going to see a lot of converted soccer players in this league. I think this will put a premium on NBA execs who have a background in Africa much in the same way baseball execs with a latin american background have additional value. Some anglo execs like Ross Atkins learned how to speak spanish in their 20s in order to increase their value to MLB teams.

i do hope eventually they can revamp scoring in the dunk contest. why not have all 4 guys dunk and then give a score for each dunk for that round, that way a 50 is actually given to the best dunk and forces all the guys to do their best dunk

I think its ok but kinda chaotic. The dunk contest has a huge disadvantage because practically everything has been done already, so unless a freakish top of the key dunk or 720 between the legs, i dont ever see it becoming exciting. ZL vs. AG was fun because ZL flew like a bird and made the very difficult dunks look ordinary, while AG had that Vince potential but ran out of gas. I think a way to increase the hype of the dunk contest is to include a appeal to feels round - like a copy the legends round. Round 1, 2 dunks: 1 whatever dunks, but as you said only best gets 50, and 1 dunk copied from legends (tbd by raffle?). top half go to round 2. Round 2: whatever dunks. top 2 to championship round. Round 3: average of 2 dunks (+1 if tied).. This way we get to see an actual competition Also, no props shit. And fuck with that weak perfect 50 scores! Judges seem to give any lame dunk 10 now. The bar should be Vince's 2000 first dunk for a perfect 10. If it doesnt have the difficulty, violence, and wow effect like that, it aint a 10 bruv!

Using a word like "rest" won't justify your team physiotherapist's $250K per year salary. No, folks.. its not "rest" any longer...its "Load Management". Joel Embiid is undergoing an extensive "Load Management" protocol. http://www.nba.com/article/2019/02/20/joel-embiid-left-knee-soreness-official-release
