All this jibber jabber about how good mc is makes me laugh.
Hes two time GSL champion. Dreamhack champion and yesterday won the lan even in denmark. He is _good_, very good.
He also lost convincingly to Thorzain who i thought outplayed him, and quite a few other gamers. Hes in the code a/s up and down matches after being beaten 2-0 quite easily by polt prime.
Awesome player who likes risks? Yeah. Bonjwa? lolnothanks.

They'll be destroyed, the tournament will be terrible with these unknown noobs ! This is a good lesson toi have, earning a spot by defeating a 1024 players field is being legit good. The haters fail again.
this is really true, beeing able to qualify vs all the best players and all the "unknowns" I'm glad that TSL did this type of seeding and not having only invites. And the games has been SOOO good aswell.

To win you have to take risks (obviously there's a difference between risky play and pure recklessness). The "play it safe" mindset works when the game is almost yours- otherwise it's the attitude of someone who's not going to win.

THORzain fighting!! Terran POWER

Man I missed the last 2 games! Was falling asleep at my PC, always fun when someone beats MC, his FFs are just soooo gooood!

People are good and bad at certain matchups. Look at Thorzain, he is not a better player overall, he just has an amazing TvP while MC's PvT lacks. Whereas Kas is a much better allround player, his TvP wasn't good enough to beat MC. It"s funny how MC used to have a 95% Record against Terran when he won his first GSL. MC used to to 4/5/6 gate with sentry support now he doing more variance. Wish he'd go back to what works instead of trying to please. He's not doing this anymore (at least against terrans) because this doesn't work anymore against terran. (or at least now terrans know how to play against this)
You realized he just 4-0 Kas with his regular build? That was after his loss to Thorzain, trying weird builds and lacking in his typical early pressure. So he loses, then says to self: Stop messing around. Then he wins 4-0. All with early aggression builds he is renown for.

Ghosts > Protoss.
Except if you are MC, you can feedback all the ghost in a bioball (game 4 was awesome). If you are everyone else, you just die to EMP.

It seems to me that MC has tried to change his style after the recent (unjustified) criticism he recieved from TL, he has been making much more macro oriented builds which i dont think play to his strength (unbelievable micro). Yes Thorzain probably spent the last weeks thinking about and preparing for MC but if he stuck with his 1-2 base timings i feel the series would have ended differently, that being said, well done Thorzain you just played amazing. If you watched the copenhagen games (and i will try not to spolier) MC only really turned to his timings in the last series he played and he really went heavy macro in his broadcast pvz series. As for people claiming Thorzain is now the #1 foreign terran i hope that is just tongue in cheek, because his run will end in the next round. Kas is just better, and i predict a final the same as the first qualifier (v Nani). Also i will add that all the protoss OP rants are getting boring now, i said in another thread that only one protoss (MC) has made a GSL final in six tournaments and it is looking doubtful one will make it this time too. The game is balanced.

Man some sick EMPs on Immortals followed by focus fire in game 4 by Thorzain. I was sure he had that game.
Kid is good. Someone get him in some more American tournaments!!

Why you try to make general -- stupid -- conclusions out of the results of two matches? could it be that among equals, you lose some and win some? MC has just had more chances to show he can win.. but I bet Kas or Thorzain would be able to make a bunch of money too, had they played full time in Korea for a year...

Yes, back when people only knew MMM or some Marine Medivac play. Now people are finally realizing that TvP isn't that imabalanced in P's favor as long as you make more than 2-3 units and try to make ghosts and ravens.
I'm also pretty sure that Kas is the better European terran. Everyone comparing Thorzain to Kas based on the recent results are really treating these two players unfairly.
Kas is in more tourneys, and doesn't get time to practice builds for weeks against MC like Thorzain had the chance to do in prepping for TSL 3. Totally different "game types".

Ok sorry to interrupt your discussion but I must say + Show Spoiler +
OMG KAS WHAT AN AWESOME MINDFUCK WITH THE 4TH CC IN GAME ONE

Hahaha you are full of it "lost convincingly to Thorzain" 3-2 and toe to toe game 4 are saying that it was close match. Also, have you seen HOW he won this tournament in Denmark? 4-0 Kas, who has amazing TvP.
Can't argue with results.

Kas TvP isn't that good, Thorzain however has a TvP worthy of gods.
Also, Ret schooled MC in NASL.

Just Admit Thorzain was better. All these explanations looks kinda sad.

Awesome player who likes risks? Yeah. Bonjwa? lolnothanks. While I'm not trying to take away anything from Thorzain's win which was great play all the way I would hardly call having an upgrade advantage "outplaying or win convincingly". That was the really the only thing winning him the games. That is the counter builds to MC's low upgrade builds so it was great planning and execution from Thorzain. Outplaying though? Nah. Deserving the win and should be praised for it? Of course.

Thorzain, 1 week, prepared. MC, copenhagen games, GSL, NASL, TSL. Nuff said.

Because everyone can kill MC by preparing 1 week.. lol!!! Thorzain played really well, and defeat a hard protos player because his good, not because MC 'hadn't' time to prepair.
