I'm not yet in my 30s and I'm already showing considerable scalp. I've never been that comfortable walking around 'au naturale'(head-wise) so I wear a hat to cover this insecurity. Thank goodness I work outdoors thus do not need an excuse to wear a hat throughout the day. Although I've heard of certain hair solutions, I've never looked into it. Just too much time, too much money, and frankly I'm just too lazy.
I've heard of Propecia and Rogaine. I hear that Rogaine actually helps most men to regrow hair. How much hair? I've no idea. Propecia I believe requires prescription.
There are other answers to baldness like wigs, combovers, and transplants. Wigs are out of the question as it's extremely risky where the weather is very window. Transplants are expensive and looks really painful. The side effects can be grotesque too. Comb-overs, well, I've been practicing that as much as I've been practicing my macro/micro in SC. But soon I'll look like Homer Simpson with his 3 strands of hair so I need to look for a different solution.
Anyone here balding or know of any verified solutions?
Nearly every person I've seen starting to go bald has decided to shave their head to semi hide it. Something to consider. I'm crossing my fingers I keep my hair, cause my head's really lumpy and would probably look stupid shaved.
LOL, im 26 and im going bald too, it sucks. Hiding its the worse option i think, is better too just let everybody know, just looking at you , that your "body" is "changing" so the transition is smoother when you go full bald.
But yeah im trying to balance this hit to my ego, so now im doing exercices and trying to get buffed.
You should try to have role models, balds that have such a confidence that being bald is not that bad. Vin Diesel,Neil Strauss,David Draiman, these are my personal picks.
Just look at Vin Diesel, does any woman care he is bald with such HUGE arms?
I understand the insecurity, but honestly seeing people wear a hat - and then realizing that they're balding, makes me feel really lol-sy. I'm no girl you may be embarrassed in front of, but personally I don't mind the whole balding thing. It's a lot better than being short imo.

is there anyone else?

if some balding monkey like barry greenstein can do it why cant you?
Because Greenstein is rich and donates a lot of money to the less fortunate. Your post and video is quite unnecessary. Now on topic, if going bald isn't your style (it's not for A LOT of people) try testing out rogain, i've heard good things. If that doesn't work, try doing some research on that laser surgery.

yeah he melted her heart with all the donations
nothing is stopping the op from becoming rich. or buff. or confident. if barry greenstein wasnt bald he would not magically become attractive, he would still look like an ape
I started going bald at about age 12, guess I just hit the genetic jackpot.
Stuck it out as long as I could then went shaved. I actually don't mind it that much anymore, I'm pretty athletic and it doesn't look too bad. Just don't try to hide it, its impossible and just looks lame as shit. You have to maintain baller confidence. If anyone even asks why I shaved my head I'll come right out and say I've got no hair lol.
BTW: nothing you can take medicationwise has been proven to have any effect on hair loss, don't waste your money.
Yeah, if I start going bald, i'm definitely going to shave once it starts looking pretty obvious. I'd rather be completely bald then someone who looks awkward/combovering.
In the same boat, mine's just starting and I'm 25! It's good to remember that it happens to every guy. It's just a matter of when. Your age corresponds to the percentage chance you'll start balding. Don't use rogaine or any of that crap. Just cut your hair short or shave it and pretend it doesn't bother you. It bothers every guy, of course, but just pretend it doesn't :D
Balding is only an issue if you make it one. Don't be insecure about something like that. Embrace it and go with it. If you constantly try to hide it, it'll show.
It's better to be secure with someone you're not happy about than it is to be insecure about it.

Haters gonna hate.
Agreed. You make yourself feel like shit. I did that since highschool. Thanks Dad! Its cool, I never really wanted a full head of hair. I decided to transfer some of it to my back and ass. for a little more overall coverage. On a more serious note, you will pay out a LOT of money and stress a LOT if it's working, do people like it? How do I look? etc etc etc. It's a big mind fuck. Side step it and choose a hairstyle that works for you imo. I'm not the cutest and I'm certainly on my way to balding. I still manage to scrap up decent women somehow someway. I have all confidence you can too (if that's what you're worried about).

Apparently scientists in UCLA made the fur grow again on mice which was bald. I don't think they've tried it on humans yet though.. Might be interesting?
Other than that, I think keeping the hair short is the proper solution. Don't make a big deal out of it, and don't try to hide it! Its not a problem unless you make it one-.-
i know this isn't what you want to hear but...just go bald gracefully.
i'm 20 and my hairline has been receding since i was 16/17. no scalp showing or anything like that yet but i think it's best to just accept it instead of spend loads on something which probably could look ridiculous (implants etc).
and to the guy who pasted that pic i doubt he looks like jason statham
lol ^ BoT, I remember reading somewhere online that propecia is 99% the same as some other drug that is 99% cheaper and easier to get (but it's prescribed for some other ailment). Look into that?
I'm 23; think I started to lose hair from the top of my scalp two years ago. Kinda sucks but you know that's life - gotta embrace it for all it's worth. At least it's the perfect excuse to get buff and shave your head.
I've been balding since I was maybe 16. I'm 23 now and well into it. I shave my head with a buzzer with no extension. The #1 setting is still too long haha. I do it every 2-3 days or so (takes literally 2 minutes) before I shower in the morning. My father is well into balding, but I already have less hair than him. But you know what makes it great? Not caring at all. People won't notice it if you don't.
To be honest, when I was maybe 20 or so, it bothered me a bit. I thought one day I would hair transplant it or what not eventually. However, people look at you as more mature, and it's not like the girl attention changed either. It took time, but eventually I came to embrace it. The biggest barrier is standing in front of that mirror for the first time with the buzzer in hand, knowing it has to be done eventually to not look ridiculous, haha.
Do I still visit clubs and bars? Absolutely. Do I cover it up? Absolutely not. It doesn't have to come with a lifestyle change. I know many people that are growing bald approaching mid twenties and it's just eating them up like no tomorrow... I feel bad for them. I wish they could have my mentality. It's all about what you make of it. Compliments will come if you wear it with confidence.
Tip: If you ever shave it razor bald and not buzzer bald (I did it for a few months), don't wash the scalp. Just use shaving cream and don't shave more than twice in the same area, it irritates the skin. Washing will make your head very shiny from the oil the skin will create to compensate that was lost in the washing. Personally, I love the buzzer bald look, but both look good if you can pull them off well.
i've been losing hair since i was a teenager, and i started shaving my head at 22. For years I would leave more on top and trim the sides to "cover it up", but I realized I was getting a bit insecure.
Shaving, or cutting your hair really short, is the way to go. Try shaving your head for a halloween party to be Mr. Clean or Ghandi or something, or for a bar bet. It will take the pressure off you

So you and I don't share the same sense of humor, get over it. Why even bother posting, you just expressed a negative feeling. How about next time, go punch your pillow.
Just because I am factious doesn't mean what I say isn't true. A lot of people are so boring on this site.

You should, balding at such an early age doubles your chance for prostate cancer.

Well, I mean, if it's true, it's worth looking into to at least be aware and somewhat knowledgeable about it. The way he presented it was comic relief anyway.

+1 here! Turning 21 in 2 weeks and my hair is really thinning out. I usually gel my hair, so you really can't see it when it's fixed up, but you can definitely see my scalp when my hair is dry and not gelled up. It sucks.
I completely blame Accutane for this though. My balding started right when I started taking the drug. It was totally worth it to get rid of my acne though. I'll go bald if I have too . Coming from a family where all men started balding by 22 doesn't really help though.
Edit- And a little fun fact. Ejaculating releases DHT into your blood stream and DHT is the reason for most male pattern baldness. So if you're whacking it or fucking twice a day, you might want to take it easy if you actually care about losing hair .
the less you care the more baller you are. Being bald is awesome I shaved my head and got more chicks than when I had a full set of hair and when I entered a room People were afraid of me. Chicks dig bald guys Its manly its cause you have so much testosterone you are getting bald so take it as a sign that you are FUCKING MANLY. MAN UP AND BE PROUD.

Hmm, I might actually need to cut back some of my "extra curricular activities".
Only thing you can really do at this point (as a preventative measure) is either go with Propecia (or generic finasteride) or Rogaine.
Balding is caused by DHT, and finasteride inhibits the enzyme (or whatever) that converts testosterone into DHT. That bit about ejaculating releasing DHT is ignorant bullshit. Taking finasteride will reduce the level of DHT in your body (via inhibiting the conversion) thus allowing you to keep and thicken the hair that you currently have. Very high success rate, but a small percentage (1% or so) have side effects, but they go away when you stop taking the drug. This is the only FDA approved "bald drug," and the FDA study is very comprehensive (take a look). There are horror stories about the side effects, but if you're young and exercise regularly you'll be fine, look at the study not what a couple chumps say on the internet. But remember that finasteride simply slows down the process. It might thicken the hair you currently have, but it won't reactivate follicles that are gone.
Rogaine does nothing more accelerate the cycle of your hair to when it is the thickest. It does nothing to really stop hairloss, it just makes the hair you have currently looks its best. But it's a pain in the ass to use and is pretty costly.
...
Or just shave it.
Edit: I'm sure you researched for bald remedies like every other balding guy out there and you probably stumbled across a bunch of "wonder solutions." These are all speculative and have no studies backing them. Only finasteriade (Propecia) or Rogaine have empirical evidence in support. Don't drain your money on products that prey on balding men. Do the research before you buy anything.
I love my hair. Too bad I have a family history of male pattern baldness that goes back to the goddamn middle ages. I don't know what the hell I'll do if/when I start losing my hair, so I keep it long while I have it.
You can go for meds propecia/rogaine, get a hair transplant, but all this stuff is really expensive and you are trapped having to pay that stuff for life (or until you're content with not having hair)
Don't get a wig, that's just the equivalent of wearing a hat 24/7 lol. Besides that, you will always spend time worrying about your wig and if anybody can tell if it's real or not.
If you really do get a HT then go to a reputable doctor. Better to shell out the big bucks then pay cheap and get ripped off...

Yes, it's true. As much as I can't stand his music, he made a cool thing by putting the hair on eBay and donating the price to charity (of course with all the money he has, he could just donate some of it instead, but w/e).
though i myself am not bald, my dad, my gramps, and all my uncles are bald. which leaves a fair chance that i too will be one day.
ive definitely told myself that if i do get a bad roll of dice and start balding, that i wouldnt try any of that bullshit comb-your-remaining-hairs-over-your-bald-patch cuz that just makes it look like you care way too much and it obviously doesn't work after thinking what i'd personally do if i went bald, i remember coming to the decision that the best and most permanent solution for myself is to just face it straight in the eye and don't even try to hide it. otherwise i know id always be really self conscious of it and it would always bother me, but if i can embrace it for what it is and not be afraid of it, that wont be an issue. probably much easier said than done, but i really do think thats the option that would be the most rewarding to me in the long run.
this isn't really a solution, but a thing to cheer you up: my mom's always said that 9/10 balding men are wealthy. i think it's a chinese saying, haha -- but it seems to be pretty true for the people around me. so, yeah, there's a chance you'll be extremely rich!
I'm starting to have my hairline recede much more in the past year or so. Also, my hair has just been growing much more unevenly than in the past. It does not grow as much in the front as it does on the sides and the back.
I have already shaved my head right down to the scalp a few times. I think it works for me, but that's obviously an individual choice. I don't really see any better option. I would suggest shaving your head right now and seeing how you like it. It's only hair, right? I'm pretty sure that the hair would grow back fine if you didn't like the look.
Receding hairlines aren't nearly as bad as having a bald spot on the top of your head. This is where I would always suggest a shave. Unless you're 7 feet tall it will be noticeable.
Balding is the curse of the manly, testosterone raging man. Just like us it cannot be tamed.
