Yes, almost everyone who was ranked high saw their point totals degrade due to the lack of games. Jaedong more so than anyone else because his point total is so high.
Kwanro in the top 10? What has the world come to? I really hope Stork and Jangbi will push out a few zergs so we can have a nice and balanced top 10 instead of having KWANRO up there. I hate Kwanro. Did I mention that I hate Kwanro? I hate Kwanro because he sucks.

let me get this straight: even if jaedong lose every game from now on and bisu wins every league there is, it would still take 2 years for bisu to catch up?

I thought your country said united states not romania...Interested. Jesus that lead jaedong has. No one looks like they'll be gaining on him at all.

Right with you there eh. Hated him ever since GomTV MSL S3, when he pushed out much better players from the competition.
wow jaedong. Take a break and let everyone catch up ok?
hehe jd is just too top tirr for regular starcraft. He should go bearblasting or something. Maybe he should play blind? or with out a mouse? that might make things more even

KeSPA ranks the last three months and then has some decay for points i think. Nevertheless, the reason Jaedong dropped so much was because his batoo has either stopped counting or has started to decay

Kespa is generally insensitive to short term results. Bisu's ClubDay win is still padding his Kespa rank.

I doubt Clubday is much of a factor. More likely all the ace matches that Fantasy barely plays. It's not that insensitive, but it lags behind by a month or so generally.

I dont get why bisu lost points. wcg tourney not kespa sanctioned? next season he will easily break 2k points again in 1month.
Lol yea cuz it's sooo sooo easy to win back to back osls, deep msl runs and get a shitton of PL ace wins.

isnt getting high kespa rank easier then holding it up there ? I have the impression the whole system suffers a significant bubble effect, it was obvious with savior and his slump. He basically held the high ranking and then suddenly collapsed, when the effect of his last OSL win faded away.
But that whole thing took more than 5 months to happen, I guess Jaedong will indeed keep the 3000 ranking no matter how he plays

It was sanctioned back in 2004. I remember midas winning that WCG and it shot him up on the kespa ranking by 100 points. I think he got first because of it as well or so I remember.
I have no idea how these rankings are calculated, but it seems improbable that anyone will catch up to Jaedong before SCII hit the shelves. Or am I wrong?

This doesn't change the fact that you talked about winning back to back OSLs and having deep OSL runs as something anyone can do. Your bias towards bisu (or bias against jaedong) is blatantly obvious from this post.
isn't it strange how players in the 20's could cause an upset to top players, whereas a couple of years ago someone in the teens wouldn't have a chance against the top 5. the line between great players and mediocre players has become a lot wider.
SC has finally reached its climax; you cannot get any better than this. Perfect timing by Blizzard with their development of SC2, it's as if they could foresee Jaedong was going to be the ultimate SC player. I predict from now on SC matches will be less and less interesting as time goes on, having a hacker as #1 makes shit boring (like it almost happened with oov)

No, but Bisu can it too Back to Back MSL wins are no difference to OSL ( in fact they're harder on the Paper ) and he made deep runs into the Osl too. Jaedong is like Bisu with no arrogance, a better attitude and a little bit better race i guess ^^
well, 2 months of virtually no games, a pl offseason where bisu had virtually no games to play coz his team came from the no 1 spot and he wasnt needed as ace player 2 times in the games skt actually played during the offseason... and wcg not sanctioned by kespa... so of the 6 months or whatever the period is, he had 3 months with about 3 games counting towards his kespa ranking. and in the last month of the season he was out of both leagues.
im not surprised by the huge gap between him and jd. but still, even as a bisu fan and zerg hater i gotta admit that jd is the undisputed king of sc right now.
The huge gap is kind of because Jaedong wins/dominates leagues every season and Bisu doesn't. That's almost entirely the difference -- I'm almost entirely sure Jaedong has a much weaker record on paper than Bisu in both the previous seasons in almost all match ups, and everything except for how deep they go in a tournament.
The lack of games for Bisu to play doesn't excuse it because the only reason he had a lack of games was from losing in star leagues, plain and simple. This rank is just a hold over from the previous months.

well, the lack of games for bisu during the pl postseason was definitely not his fault, it was due to his teams strength.

Jaedong's back to back OSLs are simply amazing. Maybe the tournament format suits him best, like it does to fantasy as well. But as some guy posted back to back MSL are quite impressive as well, especially after the format was changed. The new concept is a bitch and its hard to believe how Bisu made in to the finals 3 times in a row back in the day.

I guess because you get seeded into the Ro16 if you win the OSL, while you only get seeded into the Ro32 if you win the MSL.

I doubt it can be much weaker..if Jaedong and Flash were the only two players to get 50 wins and Bisu had 49, Flash having the most wins and slighly better winning %,
The ugly thing is that Jaedong is probably gonna destroy himself before anyone else can do it. I'm happy with the talent we got these days. You've got a wonderful mix of styles in that list but not enough "faces for progaming". We need some more real characters.

true. Savior's dominance is still unbelieveable to me. But tbh, he never got into an OSL till the very end of his bonjwaness and PL wasnt a big deal back then.
