I'm not sure if it goes completely away or just into remission, but there was a guy in my 6th grade class who had it and he's in good health now, 10 years later. | ||

Had lymphoma as a young mediocre pitcher, came back as one of the best pitchers in the league (and threw much harder than he had ever done so before). Maybe that's a cherrypicked example, but it seems to my perception (that is, I have no truly informed idea) that a lot of forms of leukemia can be treated fairly well if caught early these days. | ||
