Btw sponsorship would not pay Shuttle 200k per year, but direct fans of his, do. I searched and it was ONLY YOU that merely said that Shuttle showed his bank account statement on stream. How do you know he got it from BW and not from some other things? Was there concrete mention it was all from streaming/playing BW and donations from fans? Theres no solid statement/interview about that. Have you been living under a rock? It's not just shuttle that's been documented. There are many other players making a lot of money streaming. It's just funny that Shuttle was one of the least successful players(in comparison with Soulkey for example), which is why I mentioned him specifically. Like I said, it should be common knowledge, and at this point, not surprising at all.
"Should be"
No it isn't, otherwise why would people ask. Not everyone is omniscient and following every single thread since the past year or so, so thanks for the insults . especially when you still haven't provide hard source/screens for it, when all you says its been "documented"

Hmm, I've seen that before. Isn't it a bit odd that the number of ₩ per 'loon is basically 67.69 for the later three (top three) months but 67.08 for the bottom payment on 2013-06-05? Yet if he had gained 330000 balloons rather than 333000, multiplying that (first) number would result in that exact number Korean Won. (₩22337700) Quite odd, but I suppose the rate changed at that point. Maybe they have quarterly indexing, changing (increasing) that rate of ₩ gained per 'loon in accordance with inflation over that time?

That number just seems too high, and begs the question 'if Shuttle is making that much, why wouldn't a LOT more SC2 progamers return to Brood War'.
I'm not saying it's not correct, it just does seem a trite high.

People give balloons because they want to fund great Brood War games. They give it, the players accept it, and in return, we get to watch high level Brood War.
There is nothing wrong with it.

Sometimes players go "full Sea" and really start acting like beggars, but those are selected instances that shouldn't change the perception of the whole streaming crew.

yes, Shuttle makes quite a bit so I don't doubt Soulkey will make quite a bit as well but with Afreeca, you lose the opportunity to travel and practice in big tournaments outside SSL and LoveTV season 3 (most online) so it could be that to those players, it's not worth it just yet and that it's better to hold out for now. After all, if another 10-20 A teamers started streaming BW, I doubt there's enough people there to fund them on par with Shuttle etc... Could be wrong but my thoughts.

Right, but if one of those players win the LSL3, they're pretty much set for a while and who knows how many more BW tournaments will appear in the years to come.
Afreeca made this possible in the 2.0 Era, but as we head into the 3.0 Era, we might get an influx of sponsors if LSL3 is successful.

Listen to your heart, Soulkey. The key to saving your soul is to return to Brood War. Bring Fantasy with you.
