Hello I was referred to here by members of the Blizzard SC:Remastered fourms (https://us.battle.net/forums/en/starcraft/topic/20757486607?page=2)
I wanted to see what the SC community feels about ZOTAC CUP integrating weekly/bi-weekly Battlefy online tournaments for SC:R.
Since 2009, we've hosted many Broodwars and SC2 tournaments but have stopped after HoTS, but since SC:R is coming out, we would like reintegrate this into our platform.
How do you guys feel about this? We would also love some suggestions/feedback on what kind of tournament format would be best for players. Thanks!

Well.
There is only one answer.
HELL YES.

I would love me some ZOTACs.
I always appriciated ZOTAC for hosting BW tournaments back in the days. That's why I enjoyed playing them in SC2 as well. Would be super nostalgic to play some in SC/BW RM

Hell yeah!
Also get the streamers and casters in - may be Day9?

Do you guys have a website where we can get more information about your tournaments? It might also be helpful to include basic information (time, date, format, prize pool if any, etc.
|
would be much appreciated

That would be great :D
As for the format, I think with the player pool slight increase the best would be Single Elimination BO3, Double Elimination probably would take too long.
Also, u should probably make it clear at the very beginning if u allow Koreans or not.

I think everyone would appreciate more BW tournaments. On a side note, here we go.....

Yes we do; however, I do not know if this would be violation of forum rules. I do not want it to be considered " advertising". I do not want this thread to be shut down.
In terms of basic information, we have still yet to figure it out, but we do know that there will definitely be a small prize pool for placings, and, for format, would love to see some suggestions/recommendations since I've been out of the SC scene for quite some time.

Thank you for your comments. Yes, double-elim would probably take too long.
As for region restrictions, this is not a bad suggestion. I've seen many winners from different regions in the past Cups; however, I would assume that some players would like to play against other talents from different regions such as Korea. Am I incorrect?

As far as I know, TeamLiquid is perfectly fine with you advertising your tournaments on TL in the appropriate section if they are an established and real tournament that is accessible to TL players and/or viewers. I think it is a good thing that you have reached out to the community first.
1. YES we want more tournaments. 2. The "should Koreans be allowed" question should be something you as an organization should decide as it has caused a lot of drama in the past. There are more than enough people on either side of the issue so you will garner interest, followers, and whiners regardless of what you choose. 3. Thank you!

Am I incorrect? thanks for this,i think will be nice to have some kind of super final with koreans included (maybe a korean only tour qualifer that gives access to the super final)but for regular tourneys only foreigners. and +1 for single elimination, looking for the maps you have in mind aswell :D

This would be amazing as long as it was non korean only tournament's.
EDIT : It would still be awesome even if Koreans were allowed, but I think it would be better for the foreign scene if it was foreigners only.

rank restricted tournaments based on ladder rank plz >:D
but srsly: any open tournament = awesome

Rank restriction isn't a suggestion, but we're looking for a more open tournament where we would not need to any players from joining. We would players and inexperienced players to be able to play. I think this would held inevitably grow the community.
In regards, to region locking the tournaments, this would be a difficult decision to make. Thanks for the suggestions and replies! Keep them coming :D
Also, having a larger, more professional tournament where there would be a LAN final, might be a possibility also if Blizzard permits. Haha

Just speaking for myself but I would be even more inclined to participate if I knew the tournament is open to anyone so I could face Koreans (amateur or not).
Whatever decision you make, I really liked Zotacs in SCII I'm sure it'll be just as awesome or better, great initiative, thanks!
