Holy shit I'm really glad it seems like reducing the requirements for dynamic realtime lighting is on their priority list so I can finally wear sunglasses when I play SC:R.

I think it's a mistake to postpone working on teamplay matchmaking. Pub games are extremely hit and miss if you are trying to play without friends and there is a very large portion of the population that has no interest in 1v1, just UMS or teamgames. I guess they have data on this.
Also, don't really care about dynamic lighting. It changes the units' colors when they turn sideways and can be quite confusing in certain situations. The damn game keeps turning it back on after I turn it off, too. I don't think reducing how much VRAM dynamic lightning uses is something that's gonna keep players playing the game, or be the factor that convinces new players to keep playing, but what do I know.

I want to know if you are going to fix the ladder double wins/losses messing up ratings and stats and the chat commands T_T these two issues are most urgent to me, they are a big drawback that's keeping me off the game a lot but good to hear there are improvements coming, I would suggest also improving the responsiveness of menus like options in game or profile/ladder/game create/look for game displays on bnet they are too slow or even fail to display too often, so often waiting and bugging off

lol it's not that bad. I do prefer it without, but doesn't look THAT bright .
I am super happy to hear about dynamic turn rate. I don't get laggy games that often, but when I do it is frustrating. Hope that gets implemented really soon, although without a time table I imagine it could take a couple of months at least.

I'm not actually upset about how dynamic lighting works, just wish there was some clarification on the current ladder / profile / chat command bugs, and whether they had fixes coming for them. Like I don't think most players give a shit about if they can make their units/buildings shine when people are getting double win/loss gains, disconnects, not being able to see people type in a channel (makes tournaments a fucking pain in the ass when this happens), and profile not having a bulk of what was planned for it finished yet.

One difference in Remastered is they have multiple ways to connect players with each other. First they try the normal way, then they try a different port, then they try a Blizzard proxy server. The proxy servers have their networks configured properly (whereas many players do not) so you're trading reliability for potentially increased latency. The end result is the same though: if one player lags, everyone in the game lags because the network moves at the speed of the slowest player.

This is quite interesting, I didn't now that it tried to connect like that. This may be the reason why I have a lot of lag with friends that are literally a few km away. It's probably trying to route from us (South Africa) to Europe and back, thereby doubling the distance I would have when playing against European players, which I usually have pretty good latency with, considering the distance.
Is there any information on how SC:R makes these decisions? It would be really helpful to know so that we can test different configs to get the best connection possible.

how did those old latency hacks work anyway compared to how it works now? What changed so much that it lags much more in 1.18 than those 1.16 nonoffical servers?

Lan latency in chaos launcher/iccup launcher/wlauncher was the same as TR8.
Low latency hack people used on fish is a bit faster, but TR16 is faster than anything we've ever had before.

I hope aside from EUD triggers they also reimplement creep spawners (unit 299) and finally fix the countless tile flag bugs..., which unlike EUDs are actually relevant for melee mapping and the functionality of certain melee maps.

Thank god they are doing dynamic turn rate. I am bad enough at the game to be fine with 10, but I think Koreans might have even gone back to 1.16 if ladder had stayed 10 TR.
I don't really play anything besides 1v1, so I don't care much for 2v2 or EUD, but I'm glad for those who do. I was recently forced to upgrade my graphics card so I have more than enough vram, but I think it's pretty nice that the requierement for dynamic lighting might change from 2.2 to 2 gig.
If they can make SD look like 1.16 I'd be super happy. I really can't stand it atm.

I wonder what is EUD exactly ?_? enhanced triggers not in the original editor? what kind of triggers? sounds interesting Extended Unit Deaths is a method of memory manipulation using unit death address overflows, which was used for extended triggers and even code injection in 1.16.1 UMS maps. Because of its nature it was deemed a security risk and prevented from working in 1.18 and later patches.

There are incredible lag problems and we have to stop acting like they aren't real because it needs to be fixed asap. Lots of people are reporting it.

I've had a few friends complain about the lack of lighting with their 2GB cards, although I don't expect the TL crowd to care as much.
I definitely think they need to get the multiplayer/UMS situation sorted, that's where you get a consistent player base from and a place to retreat to when not laddering. I just want to see more people online, I guess.

There really is no excuse not to support still-powerful 2GB cards like the GTX 680, GTX 770, GTX 960, and R9 380 just because they're too stingy with paying their development team to compress textures into 2GB of VRAM. Not to mention the "recommended" specs for Starcraft Remastered is still advertised at 512MB of VRAM.

Speaking of profiles, summaries etc., it would have been so nice to have some valuable statistics rather than "how much gas did I mine in my last 100 games" - wtf.
Statistics like:
- win ratio per map - win ratio per match up - avg. mmr of my opponents - most common BO in 1st 5 min per match up (my and mine opponent) - my current win/lose/mmr trend (like 50 last games) - best win / worst lose (per mmr)
etc.
So many interesting things but we get how many scves I made and how many units I killed in whole my games, lol.

Hello everyone, i'm experiencing a very slow game: mouse control and every movement are sloppy with the HD graphic, but with the BW old graphic it's all good... i had this problem since the release of remasterd, it's not lag because it happen also in custom games...i have very good graphic card , i don't have problems with games such SC2,lol and overwatch... my friend have a MCbook portable and Remastered goes well in his PC... i run windows 10... do u feel the same problem? any solution? is that normal now? i saw lots of lamentations, but for the most these are for the lag...

Seems like the patches are slowing down.Stuff like the annoying black strip on the right side of the protossminimap should have been fixed day 1.Prioritise better Blizz, because fixing those things is more important than adding an observer mode clock.

I stopped playing about a month ago since all my ladder games were against Koreans and were simply unplayable. I played a few games this weekend for the TL Open and was seriously amazed when I saw that the minimap issue STILL isn't fixed. And then had to endure the chat bug issues and pray that people could read what I was saying. Like the fact that these issues still exist is unbelievable

Does anyone else have the problems of when clicking the very corner of the main bases on the minimap when scouting not working almost every time I click it. Or certain menu hotkeys not working on battle.net? Stats need to be fixed as well and friend messaging commands and friend list issues with remastered.

anyone remember the rainbow screen you would get back in OG StarCraft battle.net days? and having to alt+tab in/out to fix it temporarily? glad we don't deal with that anymore.

What about those black bars next to the minimap? The color is same as unscouted map. It's frustrating when your scout does not move when you accidentally click into the black bar rather than the actual minimap.
The minimap needs to have proper borders so that players don't have to guess where the map corners are.

the broken chat is like a nightmare come true done to BW after all the bnet 0.2 crap by blizzard to shut down social features and control/limit the custom games. It's horrible, really. As well as ridiculous, you don't know how to code a simple chat program in 2017? when you don't even have to code it cause it was always there? So fix it, now, cause we're gone
and make it all work fast as well, menus and all, no regularly waiting 3, 5 or more seconds for a text or list screen to load k (game search, profile, options, ladder ranking, etc pretty much everything some of them crazy long like options or also buggy half the time like profile, game search, ranking : wont display, try again and wait 5 more seconds for a chance at display, this is no good)
btw I can explain to you guys at blizzard why this sucks for social, because I am not sure that you are aware you cant talk to your friends in game so you dont get to sync so that you can gather up on a channel when you have both completed your games, this is huge already, you're just not gonna be able to play together if you have completed your game you might not get to see that your friend is on the chat cause the /F L bugs and doesn't say where they are or which channel or game or even straight up gives a incorrect status like say they are offline when they are online, if you talk to them it doesnt work, then if you want to make a game you bug out on the menus and they have to wait, what if there were several ppl, somebody may be gone by then, etc, its so inefficient its like not only a waste of time, but a waste of opportunity, the games don't happen instead, we stop talking to each other, we stop playing together, etc, and it feels like crap, heavy, wasteful, slow, inefficient, dysfunctional do you even realize how much more efficient it was before remastered or 1.18? how big a difference it makes? how much the current mess is hurting the server when it finally has what we always wanted, a proper ladder on public server? yes, public, so that people don't have to find out that they must type a certain password on web search to find the other players lol
that's ridiculous, how does the technology go backwards when time goes on ? better use old stuff if the new stuff sucks? so make it work, seriously, do it now, it should have been done before launch, so do it now
yes, the ladder stats counting and everything else too, won't be happy if gotta wait long for this, been too long already we're gone, should work at launch or quick after, gogo (this is what we paid for)

Nah, it's a great patch so far. Nice visual effects. Also replays have been updated (not sure if I read that in changelog), but it looks nicer there too.

ok now I log in, I see two problems imediately : 1) I type /F L a friend online the line reads that player is using {program} in the game {game}. Ok so the /F L still doesn't work 2) my ladder "fake" stats are now integrated fully into anywhere I can see my ladder stats (and into my overall stats : win/loss count). Before, the ladder ranking only was showing my "fake" stats with more games than I really played, which evolved correspondingly with the weird MMR updates which was screwing up my laddering (getting more fake losses than fake wins too). But I could view my real stats (number of wins and losses) in my profile notably so I could you know get a view of my real stats even if my MMR was shown same in all places and clearly a result of my bugged stats and not my true stats.
So now I expect that if I play some games, my stats are still going to be messed up, and keep getting messed up irregularly while my friends list will still not work and tell me where people I know are (which channel or game) so that I can easily catch up to them or whatever. Idk if whisper works now or not, but if the ladder games count still doesn't work, well I expect for it to work before I play more games. Cause yeah, I stopped playing because of all this mess.
So I log out.
I log in again and check if whispering even works. I /f m my friend who my /F L now says he is in the channel {channel} (doesn't tell me the channel, mutual friend), I ask him "you there" no reply I don't know if he is afk or if the /F M doesn't work. Then I use /W to whisper him "can you hear me" and bnet replies "That user is not logged on.", after displaying my message as if it was sent to him. Of course he is logged on. It just doesn't f****** WORK LOL. [and then I go into my profile showing fake stats, I type a title in the field title and something in "tell them who you are" and leave the profile and come back and it didn't save, yeah that also still doesn't work why should anything work right? by the way profile is supposed to be displayed in less than a second after a quick double click on the channel list, you can write funny text whatever in there to share who clicked your profile and view your stats, your real stats not made up bugged stats, are my stats messed forever on this profile now? should I delete it and start over later after you have fixed stuff if I want clean true stats, then I lose the icons I gained with ladder wins? well that SUCKS A LITTLE NO?]
So what do I do now? I log out again, and I'm just angry yeah that makes me angry, thanks for ruining it I wish I could be playing some freaking BW on a non broken public server
I just hope you're really doing smtg to make this all work slick and good really asap and acknowledge what is going on because this bullshit hurts the game so much it's not even funny

It obviously takes too much space on the screen if you leave the unit pane on... it goes up the height of the minimap instead of lower like the game interface... there is no need to make it both unintuitive and unattractive by removing any artwork and displacing elements that are normally there during gameplay, and then the cluttering of the screen by the unit pane is a pretty big hit cause now you'll want it off to have a good view but on to see unit statuses which you both definitely want when you watch a replay.......... so thanks for ruining that.......... (and the shape of the view is really odd while you leave the minimap on and stuff on and turn off unit pane, it just doesn't look right, and overall it should really be the same shape as during gameplay... so why even ditch the artwork in the first place there T_T this is just messed up)

Downloaded the patch. Played a ladder game. The guy disconnected. I started a new game. It went above 300 seconds in searching. Logged me out. I tried logging back in and now i just get authentication errors, hence can't go on b.net

New patch works great for me. Replay UI is really nice with different tabs. They also did something to the graphics, atleast for me it looks different, I think better.

Nah I didn't do anything. Guess they turned on by themselves after the patch. Is this dynamic lightning? Looks quite a lot different from before the patch.

I wonder, are you guys still playing versus Koreans? I play and get games instantly (always Koreans), but it seems people who aren't in NA are having more trouble maybe? Would be curious if maybe Blizzard changed match making for other servers to not get Koreans as easily?

sound like good step forward does /W work now? and /F M? and does the ladder still give ghost wins/losses? I assume it still doesnt count right because it is not in the patch notes would like to have a command that resets my account's stats to 0-0 (global stats) since its messed up (so i keep my icons and my account^^) also waiting for ladder reset when fixed or smtg

A more realistic example would be a European playing against a Korean and with current telecommunications infrastructure the latency is roughly 270-300 milliseconds between the two points. I'd imagine TR4 is the only setting that would be playable.

I don't have any issues when opponents disc I get the points. I see the same on every stream I watch (which is about 5-6).
