What a load of horseshit. We're disappointed with SCR because Blizzard made promises that they did not deliver on when the game was put out for sale. To imply that me, the consumer, is disappointed because "my goal of a game is not aligned with the goals of the dev team's" is nonsense and a complete falsehood. WE ARE DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE YOU LIED TO US, TOLD US THAT YOU WERE GOING TO GIVE US ONE THING, AND INSTEAD GAVE US ANOTHER!. TRYING TO SUBTLY BLAME THE CONSUMER IS A BUNCH OF HORSECRAP AND DISRESPECTFUL TO YOUR CONSUMER! THE FACT THAT YOU WANT TO USE SOME GARBAGE FLUFFPIECE TO COMMUNICATE AND PROGRAM YOUR CONSUMERS TO THINK THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ASININE AND LOW.
Never would I have thought that blizzard would stoop this low. Absolutely pathetic and disgraceful.
Well no, I think this is classic Blizzard at this point >__> That's no excuse for us to accept a subpar product. It's every excuse to sue them for false advertising since that's exactly what they've done. Absolutely. There's thousands of lawyers standing by, excited for the opportunity of lucrative class action lawsuits against video games conglomerates for false advertising. I see them advertised on television all the time. I'm speaking with one this afternoon.
Please keep me updated. I believe a case of this magnitude would qualify as class-action. Everyone who purchased the game could get in on it and split the cost.

Don't know if I agree with this entirely. If anything, WC3 has even more nuances that make balancing it a nightmare. I mean, there's a ton of knobs, but the thing is, the game isn't perfect anyway, so I think thats why the WC3 community would be way more open for a balance. You could convince the WC3 community that buffing necromancers or UD heroes not named Death Knight would be good, but convincing the BW community to buff any unit like the Scout? Not happening.

Also War3 doesn't have a lot of the nuances that Brood War has that make that balance so important, like muta stacking, chinese triangle etc. Also MBS and and automining arent really issues in WC3 :-P My small gripes with war3 I think there are a few but in terms of balance I would say: • I wish there was more valid choices of starting hero. I wish the game had at least 2-3 playable heroes of your race (+ some neutrals) good as first choices, I think it would be more interesting. Is it the case though? Maybe it is. However, how many different "strats" can you play with a given starting hero? • Basically, I feel like the ways you can start a game and go on in war3 feel a bit constrained. • Also some strats feel kinda bad like some tower rushes. • Sometimes I feel like there is not enough incentive in the game to split and spread your forces. its probably my biggest gripe with the game actually • "tier 1" units are just too weak after midgame? I don't like that. anything you do to get more tier 1 early on is mitigated by their lack of use later, and near certainty that they will be transformed into XP for enemy heroes. so I guess low tier units too weak compared to high tier units, and too weak to heroes? or like, heroes and high tier units too strong? also maybe I'm wrong but it seemed like proper timing to expo in a given match up and map varied little? so it just felt a bit like constrained correct strat
but, there is a lot lot to do in the details. the mechanics are great, so is generally the art and music.. but yeah, I wish as NE I had more room to pick my starting hero among NE and play a variety (instead of mostly demon hunter or neutral), and also that facing other races I wouldn't see death knight, blademaster, archmage first in most games (and then also more actual free choice of valid second / third hero) in the beginning in war3 it was more varied, ppl tried all heroes at first, that was really nice and games were more different? it had balance issues so in the end it wasn't so great apparently, and they morphed it a lot with the expansion. it felt like there is still room for improvement but I haven't played in ages honestly if there is life enough on public server with some good update I would see myself playing it again, I liked this game it is interesting does have lot of depth and a bit more relaxing probably haha its nice sometimes

looks like ladder register games properly now on SC:R so there is still broken friend list to talk about for months before it finally works again (or they decide to say, hey we never said friend list would work as original your goals are off alined! thank you for focusing on blizzard friends now! you can talk to them while they go play hearthstone trollol) and bw gets its full tools with no downgrades in remastered and it gets its chance to get as lively as it is when it has them! (seriously, I did a lot more mass games just before SC:R released, during 1.17 1.18, than after lol. why? probably because during 1.17 1.18, friend list and /F M was working? yes, there was a bait and switch there, with communication suggesting the chat would have smtg added to it with blizz stuff whatever, but the old style chat still fully useable. instead they did effectively kill the chat when releasing the game, as they did to all their other games after merging with activision, because they wanted limited and private chat rather than public so that people don't get to organize what they play themselves so much, rather use auto interfaces made by activision to control game modes depending on their money incentives, also they fear public criticism. yes I know all auto interfaces arent bad, I like autoMM, dont need it but w/e its handy, but i can see what they tried to do with SC2 (destroy custom games so they could sell their own maps and prevent creators from creating some new dota, pretty much direct everybody towards clicking 1v1 ranked and get them to watch their esport business) or D3 (massify virtual item sales by making itemization in the game obsolete itself every 30minutes that you play your character and actually destroy game systems such as customization possibilites or difficulty scaling to that effect, all the while laughingly telling the fans that the goal is to take the virtual item business away from shady third party sites^^ bots were king in early D3 unironically, blizzard actually let them be because they improved the chances that people would use the real money auction house since they generate so much gold they have all the gold they buy all the best items and resell for much higher or real money, prices rise so if you are not a bot you don't have that much gold its too many hours of playing so you need to buy with real money (blizz getting a cut every transaction ofc) if you want the items you need to progress lolz. So blizz let huge farms of bot also do their part in ruining the game, when they knew to deal with that much better in early D2. clearly knowingly doing the opposite of what's good for the game in order to farm as much money as possible and lying about it) or hearthstone (create game modes that require different sets of very large amounts of random cards, I bet they don't let users create their own game modes) or wow (kill the public world so that everybody plays mostly instanced content that rises your powerlevel constantly this way you can keep constantly selling new content while the game's balance and life as a MMO is destroyed) also options and profile load faster please, still over 5sec. I want instant for options, it's not online menu, and profile (and others) at server response time, seriously, so less than half a second if no megalag. Yes, this is BW remastered, no downgrades at all, only upgrades and I would like replay interface back to original... an option for that please... (why? the screen is overall more cluttered by your new interface, especially on a 4:3 screen, because of the extra icons and black pane behind 2 lines of ressources.. it is really a lot more cluttered and I just don't need all that stuff, I much much prefer the screen to be as readable and for buttons to be in the same place as in the game play, also ofc the gameplay graphics (and original replay graphics) for the interface are better than this. maybe it's not a big deal and I get used to it, but seriously I would not hesitate one second switching back to original so give option please... its really just too cluttered on 4:3 and uncomfortable, its important comfortable when watching replay ok!! also the bottom few lines of map are now covered by the replay interface and cant see whats going on there which there is stuff going on on bottom few lines in many games so please fix that..)
there are nice improvements though its nice to play again thx to the tech guys
edit: oh and now on my 3rd attempt of playing ladder, today it doesn't work

so typical neoblizz, running its games into the ground. lets be real, is any game in their launcher even worth playing? . always same story. it was prety evident since even before remaster released not much will be done to fix things and here we are half year later, nothing really changed. new bugs remain, missing features, SD still shitty... same with SC2, D3, well and the rest who arent even worth mentioning. im glad bw comunity is finaly waking up, now ofc its too late, many who tried the game already left, were back to mostly hardcore fans anyway, but with a worse game. and HD graphics still suck, i still cant believe people actualy were praising them and still are, u must realize how wrong that is. what we needed was f2p and abit patched up game, the real 1.17. the community itself was even doing these very things and now its all dead thanks to remaster. well i wish this wouldve worked and wed all be happy but they wont change. just dont buy their stuff, please?
|
yeah SD must be better than this before it deserve name "remaster" also definitely recommend anyone to give blizzard zero money lol

I think it's just the BW Elitists being so negative and critical about the state of Remastered. Sure, there has been tons of issues and there still are, but I'm sure the RM team is working hard to resolve these and so far what we have is a pretty beautiful product, some things that would make the game way better right now I think are the : -Network diagnostic tool they are coming up with -Clan Support -Automated tournaments like in SC2 -Automated clan wars -More easy to use Channel moderation bots, for the masses / not have to purchase a cd key to run a channel moderation bot to run a clan more efficiently. - Friends list to work properly - MOTW / more frequent change of maps potentially (although the map pool now is great)
|
better if you don't dismiss critical/negative as elitist or I will dismiss you as white knight just for that reason^^ im not rly elitist, I like to play 3v3 with everyone, I care about how good the game is to the newcomer, and that it doesnt get downgraded etc, its not just for my own mass esport 1v1 fame and money or anything, no so long as companies keep releasing sub par stuff on preorder, they will get massive bad rep as deserved for a while even after they get it right. Is SCR in that spot now? not even yet. Its not feature complete, and it still has downgrades.

To be fair, you can only really say that SCR is a downgrade, if you don't launch 1.16 with any launchers that fixed its problems. "Vanilla" 1.16 was just unplayable on so many levels.

"Vanilla" 1.16 was just unplayable on so many levels. depends, but the launchers are part of what bw had become for a lack of blizzard maintaining support for the game! so, we expect remaster to be on par with it, or better but compared to vanilla 1.16, there is a downgrade in the chat system, very important and there is a downgrade in the efficiency of interfaces in terms of response speed and amount of bugs granted, there are things in 1.16 public bnet that were lackluster, that's why we left for private servers, and some of them got adressed by SCR, such as... well there was no working ladder. Actually there was a working ladder, its just that blizzard let it go to bots and hackers after a while. and some bugs like channel icons disappearing or colors etc, ok yes (this came up for a lack of maintaining the game too as new OS came out). Still! (also sorry but the SD graphics are very downgraded, that's never going to be ok lol) (there is another minor thing is the text is not super readable on bnet, things like dots ":" "," "." almost invisible and some letters faded, that was not a thing on 1.16, even in war3 you don't get that problem if you just switch the resolution.. do want correct fonts and resolution^^)

my lawyer and i just won a lawsuit against blizzard for SCR. The judge understood how upset I was when I told him I couldn't pick my race depending on the MU and he completely empathized that i would indeed lose some MMR because of that. He promptly made blizzard give me 1/3 of the payment back (33% of my TOTAL PAYMENT) over the years of playing bw which came out to be 5 dollars. I was also rewarded 200 MMR to get back to my rightful MMR of 800 due to their UNETHICAL INJUSTICE to race picking players.
|
the guys who wish they could race pick as you normally can playing bw prob don't care much about few dollars refund or a MMR boost, they just want to play the game as they normally can and have their experience rewarded in good continuity (instead of punished) and enjoy it the way they are used to basically, its about respecting the rules of the game as they were, and how people have built on it basically, being able to race pick gives players more options about how they want to play and learn the game and what they want to get better at... so yes, blizzard should have also accounted for that which is not even incompatible with autoMM, maybe it comes after a number of months or never, and bw has actually lost something (unless we end up leaving blizzard servers again)
|
heh, i think arguing that launchers were a part of what brood war had become means that a debate about intellectual property is right around the corner

replay glitches are back....

Can we all agree to space our paragraphs a little more? *cough*
