Thanks! I was just wondering where the OSL prelim thread was.
Suggestion for formatting: instead of copy/pasting the lineup straight from the calendar, you should copy it from here so it'll be all nice and tlpd-ized and there wont be any (R) tags
I don't think there's any streams up. http://ogn.ferron.pe/ has older estars VODS running, orange TV has all stars VODs running, and mystlord's stream is on old VODs, too
well its 11am in Korea so the groups started an hour ago. The actual streaming will start around 2pm KST and will broadcast the morning groups while the afternoon groups are ongoing.

i most likely wont be up so admin help would be appreciated.
on another note, hopefully boxer somehow makes it out T_T
And... that's it! Logon to the Team Liquid OSL qualifiers Live Report thread on September 30th at 10:00 KST... OGN will periodically be choosing exciting matches and broadcasting them!
Have your writers have a little bit of insight, before they do get me up at dead of night. :<

ya i dont get it, he said he lost and thought he should leave? he went thru to Ro4 and then beat GoRush, why's he feel bad?
He didn't want to play Devil so he thought he wasn't good enough so he wanted to leave. But Devil W.O before Daezang, and Daezang couldn't leave on Gorush, so he stayed.
??? so he was scared of devil but not scared of gorush? how's that plausible?
Sorry about not clarifying that.
Devil beat Daezang 2-1 and GoRush 2-0 originally and got to the finals, but he played in the wrong map order (Desti -> HBR -> Byzantium instead of Desti -> Byzantium -> HBR [I think]) The CJ coach realized this, and told the KeSPA referee, willing to have Devil play over from the Ro8 against Daezang. The KeSPA referee said that they had to replay all the matches from the beginning, but since the first map, Destination, was played correctly, Daezang>Devil on Desti stays and Devil would have to play from 0-1 on Byzantium. CJ Coach was very angry saying he already won the match, he would understand a rematch from the start, but starting with 1 loss is a huge disadvantage, especially since he originally won.
CJ Coach and Devil decided to forfeit than deal with this nonsense with KeSPA, and Daezang was told to play against GoRush for the Ro4 match. Daezang said that he wanted to forfeit, but Devil had already left, so he played against GoRush.

Do you really think firefist is that good? ANYTHING can happen in the prelims. Its the most unpredictable part of the whole starleagues.
Firefist actually is pretty good, in my opinion. Besides, FBH's recent form has been a lot worse than Iris's. You can't really compare the two situations, right? I mean, obviously there could be an upset. That's why they play the games.
Anything could happen... but that doesn't mean it usually does.

Actually it happens quite often. Just look at mst results. How many players that looked like they were going out actually made it out?

One of the players above will move on to the next round. Wow.
ggaemo is OZ's 2nd best zerg, I think. He'll probably advance.
Saying that ggaemo is "OZ's second best zerg" unfortunately has a lot less meaning then saying something like; "Lou Gehrig was the second best players on the 1927 Yankees" (Babe Ruth).
Jesus, is the JTV stream completely freezing (video only) whenver anything interesting happens for anyone else? I still get the sound so the stream obviously isn't dead or anything but the video just plain doesn't move until every bit of action is done.
It's pretty and all, but I'd prefer a pixelated mess if it wouldn't freeze on me.

I'm pretty sure this is the first time someone posted this link on TL. It's the same quality as the old L1. Compared to the OGN direct stream, the colors on this stream are not as good.

I think it's funny that everyone just assumes Violet's PvT is good.
Not saying it's definitely bad (and obviously FBH's TvP is one of the worst in the business), but Violet basically played NO PvTs during his breakout season. His PvT ELO (and peak) is 2017.

Not saying it's definitely bad (and obviously FBH's TvP is one of the worst in the business), but Violet basically played NO PvTs during his breakout season. His PvT ELO (and peak) is 2017.

WHAT THE FUCK is going on. Sea is out of both leagues. Free loses 0-2 to some no name. Jesus christ. The only redemption from this whole thing is the fact that Pusan is in both leagues.

Offlines are pretty unforgiving...and Free never makes the OSL.

Lol for all we know, Barracks could have been messing around since he was online/aganist a foreigner. Still, if he was trying his best, that is damn impressive by Ret. He really should go over there.
oh lol, BeSt & Kal both got served by nonames? nice to see Pusan make both of the preliminaries ;p free also got destroyed by some guy named Reality whom actually made it all the way through :o
Good to see July, Gorush, Nada, Boxer, Savior, Yellow, Iris, Casy, Xellos and Midas eliminated nice and early. With so many of my all time favourites having retired, I really enjoy seeing those remaining getting slaughtered.
One hits a point where even your "newer newer semi-favourites who you picked because you needed to find somebody to cheer for" are past it. Not even Free, Upmagic and the like can get past the "Tossgirl hurdle" anymore.

*sigh*
Whats wrong with you. I should have really insult you by now but I won't because it will get me banned no matter how many posts I have. Still ROFL! -_- God~
Id rather have Mind in, and Id drop horang2 to the bottom because on these maps you will need to be able to beat a good zerg which I dont think he can.
are you all being idiots on purpose or something? pusan is in no shape a royal roader, he top 4'd like 50 times in 2005. and guemchi qualified last season but dropped out in the ro36.

Hey GTR, thanks for making me look up Really to see if you were wrong about him being a Royal Roader and seeing that he lost to MuJuK in the Batoo OSL. THANKS A BUNCH PAL.
and what, Reality? huh? I smell bad puns coming up. fbh lucked out because MVP beat Violet... yCh[z-zOne] looks like he did pretty well. lol@ggaemo qualifying but not HiyA and at Kal losing haha what?? good to see an ACE player (RuBy) in though. and yay Jaehoon. also this maestro guy managed to beat Much....
what happened to Iris? letting cuteangel qualify!?

Little bunch of hopes of Protosses who have a 1% chance of winning this OSL (most of them are almost impossible). I will dance if they will win: Movie Pusan Horang2 JangBi And, of course, main hopes: Bisu[Shield] (my pick) and Stork[gm] (he can reach finals but if there will be Bisu, Flash or Zerg he will lose lol)
Three of main terrans: By.Flash (ultimate weapon buy also can lose ultimately) fantasy (he has many chances until he fight against Jaedong)
Leta (he is between the guys above and beyond, i dont trust in his power )
Large cloud of zergs who have large chance of winning this OSL (and of course it will be ZvZ final or even maybe all Z semifinals lol): Jaedong Calm EffOrt Luxury YellOw[ArnC] ZerO (he will lose if he will play ZvZ) Kwanro type-b by.hero (this guy can kill some protoss ) Hyuk

I must be missing something, didn't ForGG and Lux both qualify?
Yes, but KT's bright future is in the up and coming talent like Violet and Hoejja (and to a lesser extent Tempest and Firefist). ForGG and Lux doing well is great to see but I'd prefer a stronger showing for the on paper best team around.
I'm looking forward to seeing herO[jOin] support the FOX lineup in the future.. In his first prelim he took down Sea, and in these prelims he beat Shuttle, XellOs, and IrOn, only to lose in the finals of both to a zerg (Hyuk and ggaemo T_T) If he works on his ZvZ he could show some promise!

sure the guy is pretty crap nowadays in everything but TvT(and even there hes inconsistent)
But hes the biggest pimp broodwar has seen since... since... hmm this is hard.
Looks dumb, plays badly atm, most likely the reason to Savior's slump, and is so useless against Protoss that him getting in makes no difference because he'll drop like a fly against any mediocre Protoss player.

Plays badly il give you but looks dumb wtf?
Hell hes one of the smexiest people in all of broodwar.
Sure hes no mantoss but those hips man... those hips.
And it wasnt like he alone sent savior into his slump nor was the biggest reason.
Sure he was the nail in the coffin but bisu was by far the main reason for saviors slump.
Also he was semi decent against protoss last year( 50% win ratio i think) not that it really matter now but before his slump he was improving atleast.

FBH used to have the sexiest TvZ ever (LITERALLY SOME OF THE MOST ENTERTAINING TVZ EVER). Just because he's slumping doesnt mean that no one should like him any more. Right savior fans?

Disliking him because of looks is dumb (he's hot, though). He has been slumping, yes, but I have hope of him returning to form.
FBH is entertaining as hell both in game and as a person. His TvZ was seriously S-class like a year ago. I remember the game where he smashed Jaedong to pieces with Battlecruisers. Good times. His TvP is retarded, but sometimes his class shines through even there, like that MSL where he was placed in a group with only Protosses (one of them Bisu) and beat them all. I don't see how it's possible to not like him.
You can't just say "i can't see a reason not to like him".. the way he acts, he has to have some people dislike him... he performs ceremonies and does over the top (for progamers) but good interviews and does wacky late game ceremony strats - great - not everyone has to like the same thing. That would be boring.
I personally do like him though, since he brings a sense of fun to progaming :D.

Best hasn't been the same since July.
He did really well in the first two rounds of proleague. Winners league killed him though.

You don't have to like him, but I really don't get how people can hate him. It's not like he does his ceremonies with any malice. He's just got a sense of humour; he smiled when Jaedong put up 5 BM ceremonial hatcheries in his natural. The Savior fanbois who whine and moan about FBH are people who take things way too seriously.

Yes, savior fanboys who whine, nothing like the great and manly Firebathero who'd never whine about something they don't like happening.

I just listed some reasons to dislike him, I personally don't dislike him.
Ahh so many many good players dropped out, still quite a few new names go through, mediocre players all the way :|
Lomo & HiyA delivered once again, out of OSL out of MSL, hopefully out of PL lineup. seriously only reason i wear this Oz tag is because i like JD so much, should search for some other team with more players that i like while still remaining a JD fan ;p (oh well i like BackHo & Killer a bit too)

his title is the biggest fluke. In his interview he said "어처구니 없었다", which translates into something like "...I was at a loss of words [when I came to realize that one of the four Hite players would make it to the finals]." I'm sorry I can't come up with a better translation as I suck at English but he was clearly taking a shot at the 4 Hite players, implying that he is much better than them. i don't like cocky players who suck like perfectman and luxury

In retrospect it looks like a fluke; at the time he won the title, Luxury played much better than usual in Winners League, looked like a god of Zerg for most of the MSL, and made a decent run at the OSL as well.
It's not as though everybody and his brother was auto-voting go.go and type-b into that OSL quarters, either. Yarnc in a low-Protoss OSL? Fine (although also a fluke). Leta? He's supposed to be (near?) S-class, sure. The other two? Not so much.
Just a disclaimer, many of the results in the OP are a little off. Mostly the WLW/LWW parts, but some 2-0's were 2-1's and vice versa. What is in TLPD are the official results.

But then, I actually like Luxury.
I'm telling people that luxury was a forgg. They usually suck but they played awesome for the short time, giving them the gold.
Still, can't forgive him for taking away jangbi's gold.
I hate the name Barracks... I mean... are these people thinking about the future? If they ever become really popular.. they're gonna want an epic name... not a building... frick
Both HoGiL and Horang2 are in, heck yeah. though Justin and herb are out so not every hite player made it, but those two were the most important. It'll be a Nice hite packed OSL with these two plus go.go, YellOw[ArnC], type-b and Leta. Nice to see som upsets too, like, Barracks? Reality? Cool Sucks to see BeSt out though, he's one of my fav tosses.
