Final addendum: @Yttrasil: your analogy is flawed, because anyone going on an international trip SHOULD be recognizing there's a . The father is absolutely at fault for not being aware of Swedish by-laws on corporal punishment, and deserves such for being an idiot and not reading up a basic "Swedish Etiquette for Dummies" guide. Sven at fault and deserves everything and more that's been thrown at him. Even more since Rita held a danged cultural sensitivity seminar (which, having taken college courses on it, basically boils down to "don't be a douche and have a modicum of self-awareness"; its not hard lol). I think Sven's actions were pretty deliberately designed to be offensive.

Would have been pretty awkward for him if he did the tryout for SKT I guess, lol. Btw, how does the new residency rule work out exactly? I know that everyone who already imported players before the rule change is save, but that means that TSM, for example, couldn't import another player now, right?

Because of all the foreigners(seems weird to use the term like this on TL) on the team being grandfathered in, for TSM to have another one join they'd need to let go 2 of Bjergsen, Amazing, or Lustboy and replace one of them with an NA player. At least, that's how I understood it. So, in essence I don't see any new non-NA players joining because of how talented Bjerg and Lustboy are compared to the current local talentpool. In the end you'd have to be getting a literal top 3 in the world at the position to make the swap worth even considering.

TSM is put in a really awkward position for any roster swaps. If they NEED to make a SINGULAR roster swap they must bring in an NA resident. And considering the Gleeb fiasco, I think it's safe to assume that NA talent is pretty bad. If TSM is put in such a situation they should act as fast as possible. They should "sacrifice" the spring split and hope that any new player grows in skill for the summer split.

I feel like they should just start fresh and have any player currently in the NA LCS just count as an NA player. So does that mean LMQ can only bring in an NA player if they want to make a roster swap? Cause that seems a little odd. Edit: I checked the Riot post and the way it's worded makes it seem like "exempt non-residents" count like a normal resident, but if they leave the region they lose that status. Implementation of Rule Change; Grandfathering. Any player on the Active Roster of an LCS team or a CS team who participated in the most recent Promotion Tournament at the time of this policy change who would not satisfy the Resident definition in 1.2(a) will be considered an "exempt non-resident", which allows such a player to count towards the three Residents required pursuant to Rules 1.2(f), 1.2(g), and 1.2(h)

LMQcan only bring in an NA resident for any role swap. Which pretty much screws them over.

But by the grandfathering rule it says they would be considered "exempt non-residents" and it says exempt non-residents still count towards the 3/5 resident requirement. So as long as 3 core members of LMQ stay together than I think they can bring in other players from wherever. Unless I'm just reading it wrong. Edit: There's this part I omitted... In the event that a team has two or more exempt non-Resident players as Starters, they will not be permitted to add any additional non-exempt non-Residents as Starters. ...but I think all that means is that LMQ couldn't bring on Bjergsen or something like that.

Is that the way it works out? Yes. It is not that complicated - as long as you have 2 or more non-residents you can not add any more non-residents. The excempt status doesnt mean much except that you can stay on the team if you were already on it before the deadline. So LMQ can not replace one of their Chinese with another Chinese (or any other non-resident).
