Seriously this community is dramatizes so many things. Destiny uses "nigger" on stream all the time, yet I don't see people constantly new threads to disparage him. EG and their disciplinary action is another story altogether. Everyday life. Thats controlled by one organisation or another. Try and make a post here thats full of n-words and other slurs. See how long it will take you to get banned. Go on the street and yell it for a couple of minutes, or if you're lucky; shout it once to see a reaction. If you want your own community, go stream like destiny and create one with your own rules. Orb wouldn't have this topic if he was simply a individual streamer associated with no-one. But he is, and everybody is curious to see what his linked employers will do in an effort to distance themselves from this topic and the ones on reddit. Apparently their market audience thinks this is a big thing.

Ya i agree with this. If he was honest with EG from the begining it would have been better, but now he has put EG is a very bad spot since they backed him to begin with and a company like EG doesnt want to be assosiate with this drama.

You can't tell me that he doesn't have the right to express himself freely when he's on his free time. If you're getting offended, it's because you're hunting orb down on his free time. Otherwise you'd never see it. Clearly you have never held a job or know what you are responsible for when having a job. He was still representing something even if he isn't casting games. I thought everyone understood how that worked...

I think people who are drawing the "what's worse, X or using the word" it's a false argument. Both can be behaviors that are bad. It is however dismaying at times to see how prevalent the word has become on the internet. See how many news articles that feature blacks on CNN for example are filled with filthy comments. It is disheartening because you can not tell what informs the decisions of those people. How much of it is trolling/rage/etc and how much of it is real? Without context, Orb has availed himself of the same dilemma...why that choice, what informed it? Personally I don't think an apology is necessary, he was trying to be offensive by using offensive words. I may wonder why he used those particular ones (what has drawn that association of concepts in his mind) but you just shrug your shoulders when you get on the net and get used to it.

It would be the same as if a newscaster did the same thing and it was filmed at a bar or public event. It may have not been for the world to see but the world did see it and he will be punished accordingly. OMG "lied about his raging past". Sir (pulls down shades) you've been convicted of a rage crime. Come with us.... Also people please quit saying Orb is racist! You're all retarded if you think he is actually racist (just as I would be if thought you were all literally retarded) TL is starting to make me as sick a the reddit community...

It's so funny because the same people who say "it's just the internet, who cares!" are the same ones saying "support esports, make esports grow, we love esports!". You're on a site dedicated to StarCraft 2, Orb ( as sad as it is ) represents a huge orginzation that is vital to the growth of StarCraft and eSports in general. When he acts like the immature, raging, ignorant child that he is ( seriously why did they hire him ) it reflects horribly on both SC and eSports. If you can't understand that then I don't know what to say. Do you think any of EG's sponsors would be happy about this? No. Do you think this is something that EG is happy about? No. Do you think that in the future when sponsors look at EG's past employees that this is something that is going to make them want to invest in them? No. Uh, when orb is at home playing ladder games, that's his personal life. Nothing of that should be connected to his work. If you don't want to see him enjoying his free time, don't hunt him down, don't watch his stream.

I have mixed feelings about all this, personally. I thought Orb was a decent caster, and I was kinda glad he was starting to make a name for himself. This might be "career (to what extent he had a career) ending." I think people need to remember that. This will probably remove all this guy's hard work for the past year or so in the SC2 scene, because of a few words. On the other hand, I always knew Orb was a rager and a phoney. Anyone who has watched his stream since his early days would know this. It always sort of irritated me that he would act nice and professional when he was doing something for a big audience, but when you look at his stream it is just his asshole self. He always had an attitude problem, and I guess he is paying for it now. So I guess he sort of deserves it?

Look, if it was a pro player playing a tournament/showmatch, I would say that they deserve to get flamed for this kind of stuff. This is a freaking private match. He's playing around like every other ladder junkie out there. It's no longer his job, it's mainly for fun, so there are no sponsors...
