The subject of this thread is not a license to roll out your inaccurate, misinformed, poorly conceived, tired, and downright offensive theories about race relations. |

I love it. Some guy is racist jerk who flames people just because he lost a game, and so many of you says "It's normal". Where the hell do you live? I don't know this guy personally, actually it's first time I've ever heard of him but I'm guessing he's kinda famous-ish. If he's using such strong language and people watching him that makes entire SCene looks bad. I hate BMs...

Actually please explain what the difference is between an insult like "nigger" and an insult like "bitch?" In our society it is more common to call people bitches but that doesn't necessarily make it less insulting than calling someone a nigger. Just because Americans are all super sensitive about enslaving black people doesn't mean that it is somehow worse than relating someone to an animal. Lets see, if you say nigger, you are relating someone to a black person, most likely a slave or degenerate. However if you say bitch, you are comparing them to a female dog, which is an animal. How is that not worse? Im pretty sure nigger is common vernacular in some parts of the world. Why cant people just deal with this shit. If you call your cat a dog im sure it would be less angry than if you called it a black cat.
This entire thread is stupid, in the end orb fucked up. If he apologizes, good for him, if he doesn't, fuck him.

Djwheat stopped being no fluff the second he got involved with EG, lol. He's still a cool dude, but he is far from non biased when it comes to things eg related.

If you're letting something as stupid as this keep you from enjoying the game and its community, you live a sad life and I hope you get your priorities in order. Yeah because my feelings on whether or not it's appropriate for the people who are representing esports to the masses to hatefully use the words 'nigger' and 'faggot' is a direct representation of my lifes priorities. It's so funny because the same people who say "it's just the internet, who cares!" are the same ones saying "support esports, make esports grow, we love esports!". You're on a site dedicated to StarCraft 2, Orb ( as sad as it is ) represents a huge orginzation that is vital to the growth of StarCraft and eSports in general. When he acts like the immature, raging, ignorant child that he is ( seriously why did they hire him ) it reflects horribly on both SC and eSports. If you can't understand that then I don't know what to say. Do you think any of EG's sponsors would be happy about this? No. Do you think this is something that EG is happy about? No. Do you think that in the future when sponsors look at EG's past employees that this is something that is going to make them want to invest in them? No. Uh, when orb is at home playing ladder games, that's his personal life. Nothing of that should be connected to his work. If you don't want to see him enjoying his free time, don't hunt him down, don't watch his stream. Vysage, you get it. Thank you so freaking much. People aren't forced to watch his stream or hear his casts. God ur dumb...imagine Day9 saying the N word...AT ALL!!!! Please learn what being a professional is before u type anything....an NFL player would get kicked off a team if he publicly said the N word LOL nigger barely means anything anymore, just like being called a chink is just like being called "idiot" or "asshole" these days. So when all the NFL players start cussing in private interviews and shit, they don't get fired...
once again...are u dumb? people who think saying the N word and getting away with it should get fired lol...its called being professional...im white and i laugh at people like you

You do not deserve to be in such a wonderful community. cy@ Noobs like you are why I bm people in laddergames when I own them E fucken Z
how old are you?
is it wrong to think the SC2 community is incapable of being civilized human beings? do i belong here?

It's amazing that people in this position can do something so stupid. If he would have admitted I would have been like "Guys a dick and a shit caster but whatever, he told the truth and he'll get his punishment", but he lied to his employer and the entire community, and I despise liars. I never watched his casts anyways and was never a fan so this doesn't affect me in the slightest, but it DOES affect EG.

You argument makes no sense? What does playing the game and getting good have to do with anything being discussed here?
Did you just put together some random thoughts and post?

The SC2 community..... axing a caster once per week!
We know drama!
|
This isn't a big deal, its the same as people getting upset because someone says "faggot" a lot and it upsets the gay and ultra sensitive community.
People making this into a big deal just shows a small part of this community that makes me want to face palm... get over yourselves.

Obviously Orb is nether racist, nor homophobic, he just reaches for whatever derogatory word comes to mind when he wants to offend a stranger on the ladder.
The further accusation of him "trying to cover it up", I have no idea if it's true, but seriously if it was true - it's also not that shocking. Orb has a history of being very vulnerable to personal accusations, to the point that he really becomes extremely defensive and loses his calm.
Above all, Orb is the best single (non-tandem) SC2 caster in the world; his style of casting is very polished and professional, his understanding of the game and in-depth analysis is at the level of only Artosis and active progamers. He is a very intelligent person, with the odd flip-side that he can be verbally offensive on ladder. That part about him is not new, he's always been famous about it, and people have been teasing him about it since beta. It complements perfectly his otherwise highly professional behavior, and frankly is just a personal matter of his, and shouldn't be for the public to control. This is patently untrue. It's not a personal matter. If you rape a goat in the middle of the street how is that in any way shape or form just your personal business? He did it in a public forum, he streamed it so that people could see it. Now, you narrow it down to just the last picture - which is streamed indeed, but all the other pictures are from private replays. And about that last picture, it's Orb's personal stream during private laddering; people go watch Orb laddering often to see him flip out with reactions like that, it's even in the description of the stream. It's not part of his professional activities, in fact there were occasions when he admittedly wasn't entirely sober during private streaming. That has nothing to do with an esports event, it's just some nerd on ladder that you know is likely to lose his mind a little bit when he loses games.
I like to point out that none of Orb's offended opponents were truly offended, for the most part they are just having fun at his expense, knowing that he overreacts easily. As I mentioned earlier, that's not new and people were poking fun at Orb for the sole reason of seeing him flip out, since beta.

djWHEAT wrote a thread some time ago that sponsors and such need professionalism, but that doesn't mean you have to sanitize the entire community. You can have a professional face and a 'WHAT IS UP BITCHES' djWHEAT face for more casual stuff.
This is the same thing, only Orb is a douche on ladder when he's not on the job. Oh noes.

wow when did the starcraft community get so vicious 0o, its not like he is wearing white robes a pointy hat and burning crosses on his web cam.

As far as I know he hasn't admitted to the most recent use of the n-word. Unless he retracted his original statement that it was a friend who did that.

Because he first lied it was photoshop. Then lied that it was someone else on his account. AND acted the victim of some "campaign" against him. You OK with that?
