good episode for me. still too much drama but i like the way the characters are developing and alex's plot is finally starting to get interesting. also i like that they use the f word now; adds some realism to the show i guess. what changed that allowed for the show to use 'fuck' now?

I'm not sure, but iirc in the first two episodes or so of the new season I thought they "said" Fuck a few times but it got silenced out every time... this episode we could full on hear the Fuck, which I think is good and sensible and probably progressive for a 9 PM cable tv show.
This past episode was the first time in a while where we got to see the old, emotional, caring Donna which was great, and I immediately felt sorry for her during/ after the Harvey talk. It was really cute.
I'm looking forward to learning about the fallout with Alex. I'm not looking forward to learning about the fallout with Frank Gallo.
Also, fuck Mike. Seriously. What a pain in the ass. He's screwing over his relationship with the two most important people in his life- Rachel and Harvey- because he can't get his shit together despite everyone moving heaven and earth for him over and over again. As coverpunch said: You know you've messed up when Rachel is the voice of reason.
Also also: Well done by Louis, managing to salvage a situation where he needed to actually be empathetic, and YOU JUST GOT SPITT UP is frickin' adorable.

I actually think Harvey should let Mike go to the clinic for two years and get some seasoning, just like Jessica allowed him at the DA's office. Ironically, the reasoning might be exactly the same, that Mike has learned kind of the wrong lessons from Harvey. We could be fair and point out that he worked with Harvey at an insanely unstable period of time and some of the darkest moment of Harvey's life, but Mike has learned the bullying and breaking of trust without the principles or the payoff that Harvey gets. Jessica let Harvey get away with breaking rules because he's a closer and brought good results. Mike did all this bullshit and got away with so much nothing that he could plausibly be criminally prosecuted again or challenged for disbarment.
As I think about criminal justice in New York over the last 20 years and reflect on Harvey's incredible record at the DA's office, it's plausible to say Harvey Specter is a big part of the surge in imprisoning young black men. Hell, it wouldn't be unfair to say he WAS the surge, having put away some 18000+ people away. Without any losses on his record, it also means he cherry-picked cases so he probably didn't put away any white collar criminals (although most crimes on Wall Street would have gone to the US Attorney's office, not the DA).

what? did i miss something? when did suits ever say harvey put away 18000 criminals and most of them were black
|
|
wut. why cant they just keep her in the show... also i didnt know aaron korsh used to be an investment banker. it would explain how suits' script utilises so much corporate and legal lingo as well as the actual demonstration of business strategies, ideas etc. their goddamn producer comes from that world

When Harvey is on the stand and Alexandra Leeds is questioning him informally on the stand to try and flip him on Cameron Dennis for suppressing evidence, she references that he worked 2 years at the DA's office and put away 18,362 cases. It is cited that he took 147 to trial and won all of them. In searches for reference, it is noted that other criminal attorneys take something like 1500-2000 cases per year and everyone is complaining about overload, which makes Harvey a legal machine because he's doing 5x the load.
I was looking up real life statistics and ironically the prison population in New York fell over this time period. The prison population in 1999 was 33,411 people, while in 2006 it fell to 32,324 people. In both times, about half of prisoners were black. So maybe Harvey was just looking at cases and dropping bad ones very quickly, like almost instantly.

I mean, I'm kinda in the same situation... But instead, I stopped watching Suits at the end of the last season. Unlike other similarly horrid pieces of shit shows (such as The Walking Dead, the Bleach manga when it was still being released)... I have quit Suits cold turkey. Now I read something about some Alex guy. And I'm like, who the fuck is Alex? No doubt another one of those characters who have come to the firm to try and take it down for whatever bullshit power struggle reason. I don't give a shit. Dam it feels good to not have to put up with more bullshit Rachel drama, or Louis being a faggot. I am free from the repeat process of manufactured outrage. I no longer give a shit about how it ends. It's like a different world away and I don't have any feelings of "damn, I can't help it, I need to watch this new season."
Anyway, back to my internet porn.

Ironically, you're way off base with all of your assumptions:
1. Alex is a cool guy, a buddy of Harvey's, and played by the awesome actor Dule Hill (Psych, The West Wing). 2. Not only has Rachel been drama-free for the season so far, but she's actually been the voice of reason in many recent episodes. 3. Louis has steadily been getting better, if by "being a faggot" you mean "irrationally flipping out and not dealing with issues correctly".
I'm not sure how you think a television drama would survive without any drama, although historically there has certainly been plenty of repetition and annoyances, and currently Mike is a complete moron.

They should do a scene where Mike and Harvey play cards to mellow out Mike, because at this point, he'd probably take crazy chances drawing for an inside straight and then whine when he missed.

this season is definitely better than the last few seasons imo. the way this story is going im expecting harvey and mike to fully team up and lawyer the shit out of everyone

Knowing his personality, he won't wake up from being a moron until some crazy tragedy happens to him. I'm not sure what it could be though... maybe something related to Rachel?

I think we all want that to happen! And I'd like to see Louis do some good shit too.

Yeah she's currently dating Prince Harry but I don't think they're even engaged yet. I don't think they'd kill her off per se, because Mike probably can't come back from that. #BringBackJenny

I really enjoyed last week's episode, chock full of flashbacks and showing more of everyone's story: why Harvey owes Alex, what Alex is being framed for, Dr. Lipschitz coming into the picture, why Louis loves being in charge of the associates so much (because they were given to him by Jessica), the fact that Donna has always loved Harvey, etc.
I also like that Alex is a sincerely good guy. The writing is basically on the wall for Mike's decision to be: Mike + Harvey + Alex working together to find a loophole and crush those blackmailing, colluding companies as a big team.

RIP gallo i actually feel bad for that guy. amazing how easy it is to sympathise with a person once you can relate to them a bit

Agreed. Also, I noticed that the last 2-3 conversations he had with Mike were a lot softer and more civil... ever since his daughter had been mentioned.
Also, the Donna and Louis parallels were pretty eerie, and I totally did not expect Sheila to pop up out of nowhere. Felt sooo bad for Louis too.

Felt sooo bad for Louis too. i wonder if theres going to be any actual significance of their choices later on. i was thinking if donna went through with it the writers would definitely use that as a plot device to make harvey go apeshit against her once he found out. didnt happen in the end though
