Looks like this is going to be the last Super arc. Last episode airs March 25th and then a new show is taking its place.
So sad

Finally! Serious continuous harms quality. It's better to just be a few good episodes a year. Super is really lacking in quality. But that's general toei for you.
Also more time to actually write. Instead of the constant ignorance of previous events. And actually develop charecters.

This arc needs to end on a high note. All the previous arcs showed good potential but couldn't quite write a proper ending (well, except Battle of Gods, that ending was fine). Then we can worry about what happens after. If the arc marks the end of the series and we just have some brief teaser of U6 adventures, I'm ok with that.

This series can't go on forever. They have a new power up every arc. We already have Goku slowly going from base to SSJ1, SSJ2, SSJ3, SSB, UI in one fight.
|
I'm guessing it will resume after the movie.

What?! But there is so much potential/world building on what to do after ToP ends. That's tragic

Goku being the next god of destruction is where I think the anime ends. Not sure how the tournament is going to end to be frank, I can see either universe winning and both universes wishing the others back.
It's how DBZ ended afterall, Goku going off on his own to do what he always wanted to do.

Goku gave up a chance to be Kami at the end of DB; if he were to not give up the chance to become GoD that would be absurdly out of character.
I expect U7 to win. This doesn't look like a "worthy opponent" surrender scenario, this looks like a fight to the death.

There is a movie comming out in a few months I doupt they really will stop DB super, especially with the games comming out, and dragonball made ton of money from what I read. Could just be about giving time to the animators to work on the movie and DB would come back in 2019.

I know! I was really hoping for Vegeta/Goku to visit Sadala and all the other stuff that could come.

Movie doesn't come out until December of this year. I'm sure that's part of it is the animators focusing on the movie, but some other Anime (Kitaro?) is replacing Super for the year. Not sure how long, but there is definitely no more Super or any new Dragon ball show for the rest of this year.

I (and also my friends) consider it as a giant filler ^^ DB ended with goku and uub goiing to training 10y after defeating Majin Buu.

I enjoy the story. It's just as good as it's always been.

It could have ran in like 5 worthy episodes, to be sincere this arc has been a long filler.

I don’t particularly like Super but I think a great way to end the series is for Goku to be the new God of Destruction and come back to train Uub in that tournament just like Z’s end. That way when he leaves again it makes more sense

DBS has been amazing. There's no way this is the entire end. DBS prints money like crazy. Merchandise alone justifies DBS. Personally, I wouldn't mind if the manga ended up getting ahead of the TV show. There's still no word on what this means with regards to the manga, right?
I don't really put any value in the end of DBZ. I am totally fine with the entire thing getting axed in favor of a longer story.

I honestly think the ending to DBZ is really bad and that they should have ended it with Vegeta and Goku doing the thumbs-up at the end of the battle.

The ToP arc has horrible pacing issues, start to finish. It spent way too much time on buildup, trying to hype the whole thing up instead of actually making it more interesting. Despite the fact that certain universes basically got jobbed in 1 episode, others got way too much screen time, and the development of non U7/U6/U11 characters has been abysmal. It was basically poorly handled in every way imaginable.
But still I come back, because I hold out hope that the fight with Jiren and Toppo has an ending as good as its beginning. Ultra Instinct was one of the few legitimately interesting developments of the arc, imo, it opens the door to more arcs in the future, going from the GoD's, all the way up to the angels, the grand priest, and zen-oh himself, and how Goku handles himself in it all. Frieza manages to be in an interesting position too, and I look forward to seeing exactly what his plans are. If only the ToP were better focused, so much wasted potential.
|
Why all the SSJ transformations in a fight? After Raditz defeat they always went required needed power from the start ( except that one guy called frieza). The onlu moment Goku hid his power and actually needed it to win the fight was vs Majin Vegeta. And he only hid his SSJ3 because it would decrease his time on earth. All other moments were filler.
