If I wanted to discuss a hypocrite, a "professional" with a terrible history of treating casters (think of what he and BigT did several times... great for Esports, right?), cheating and relying on all-ins and cheese to win, I would have started Morrow's fanclub. But I didn't, so get out of Idra's thread. Thanks
Wait a minute, when did Morrow ever cheat? And I thought he was considered a macro Terran, not cheeser, all-inner?
Apparently 5rax reaper was considered macro terran back in the day

Jesus, that was one series, just one. You're not clever.
I'm not trolling though, I'm just really wondering about this.

Uhh.. if you 5Rax Reaper every single one of your TvZ matchups, how is that a macro terran? It wasn't one series. It was 80% of the Zergs he played.

I've only ever seen him use it at IEM finals, but whatevs.Maybe I've only seen the 20% of games he doesn't. It's not like you can't transition into a macro game from 5rax reapers anyway (which he did do against Idra). I didn't want to derail the thread so I'm just going to leave.

Maybe in this particular tournament. In the weekly cups he played slow push macro terran very often and he was very successful with it.
I don't see the necessity to reduce Morrow's skill as a terran to one tournament.

Not being a troll here. Just a simple, legit question after seeing the past 3 seasons of GSL.
As Idra has said in at least a few interviews, the biggest problem is no zergs have a sound answer to the GSL all-ins. After a lot of practice, him and Ret both agreed on the best way to deal with it. However, the execution requires very precise micro throughout the entire aggression. A couple "small" slip ups in micro there will cost the game.
I don't know many zergs that have little to no problems dealing with cheese/all-ins.
Another thing I wanted to point out - when the game gets into the mid/late stages, Idra wins VERY often. So the few times he loses are what you will remember, and that is to strategies that are very strong at the moment against Zerg.

The issue isn't really the strategies itself, it's the terribad map making skills of blizzard. Maps such as Steppes Of War really makes the 2 rax all-in sooo effective, or bad spawn location on maps like Metalopolis. A game shouldn't be based on your luck for the spawn locations. Thats where blizzard fail so much. Back in BW, the most popular maps were usually big and huge map, now it's these freaking smallish maps.
Why every one is so damn focused on whether a player is BM or not? The so called BM replies are often HIS opinion about game so it is nothing bad. I like his gameplay simply because I am very very sick of seeing all ins and 10 minute games. My favorite game was a PvZ between chitaprime and mysticprime on metallopolis a nearly hour long game. Why players always try to cheese/rush? I don't remember when was the last time I saw high tech units like carriers motherships, battlecruisers where are they? Why no one like to play game to its maximum extent? This is why I like Idra, he tries to play game the way it was meant to be rather than using simple rushes that most gamers use.

I directly recall the commentators noting that MorroW, who normally went for fast-expands and a macro-oriented build, began going reaper-heavy after his macro-style's early losses in the beginning stages of the tournament. So no, it was not "all" of his matchups, it was him adapting to what won in a scenario where he needed to win.

Cuz cheese / all-ins are just too good on SC2 in certain matchups and situations to not do them. These pro gamers aren't playing "to play good games and have fun" they are playing to win, bottom line. So if there is a cheese or all-in move that gives them a great chance to win in a tournament that is for money, then obviously they are going to do it. And I don't blame them.
But from a fan's perspective ya I agree with ya, I'd rather watch people like IdrA who really display skill and ability to play instead of just abusing matchups and maps and all-ins.
Morrow shouldnt be blamed for doing 5rax reaper in a tourny, as it got him easy wins. That was blizzards fault, not his. But yes it was an unfair strat that cant really be called allin becuase of the ability to transition ot of it so smoothly with little drawback, hence why it was too strong
