DCI bans went out, and the aftermath is hilarious. One of those rare instances where Facebook conversations are infinitely more entertaining than reddit. Yeah, I saw a couple, but wasn't sure why exactly they were banned. Reactions still hilarious.
Alex apparently never learned to clean up his shady play.
Trevor just outright cheated on stream and in the SCG Modern open via stacking his opponent's deck among other violations. His FB post though......Keyboard Cagefighter is something I want to see on a business card.

Trevor Humphries banned for history of shuffle cheats, most recently on camera at the recent SCG standard open that he won (also off camera at the Modern open the same weekend that he also won) Need to open a keyboard cagefighting dojo in his honor
Bertoncini banned for continuing his bertoncheaty ways after coming back from his previous suspension

Oh, for some reason I thought the SCG stacking guy was different than the facebook guy. Also I didn't see Alex finally got banned again, is it permanent this time?

No, Bertoncini is just banned until 2017.

Wonder why. Hadn't seen anything about him getting caught on stream. Linky?

Juza was saying he got 2 warnings in 1 game at the PT. It's on Twitter somewhere. That and there was a story on Reddit about how he (again) didn't put 2 cards back when he Brainstormed while there was a complicated stack.

Jared Boettcher is the next one on the chopping block it looks like.

Massive witchhunt on reddit but he was cleared by the DCI.
Look, the problem is that a lot of times, super savvy cheaters look very similar to noobs who don't pay attention.
I actually had someone call a judge on me in the top 8 of a PTQ because, apparently, the way I was shuffling allowed me to see and stack his deck. I hadn't even noticed, I was just really tired and shuffling as fast as possible to get it over with. Judge actually gave me a warning for it. Bugged the hell out of me, personally and made me kind of defensive.
Seeing Jared have to deal with that shit on a massive scale hurts me a bit. Odds are pretty good there was no "master plan" to what he was doing and he was just shuffling without really paying attention.

Seemed more serious than that. Seeing BBD, Conley Woods and Frank Lepore commenting about it after he made his "Stop witch hunts" comments made me think it was pretty legit. I don't frequent reddit and only saw it on facebook.

Thin ice after what he did, of course, but that's some seriously thin stuff to convict with. Perhaps they had more. It's DCI's house, though.

"Convict?" What exactly happened...?

There's like a dozen videos showing that either a card stays on top while he shuffles or he's shuffling in a manner that allows him to potentially see the cards in his opponent's deck.
That's really the long and short of it.

Yes, I've seen the videos and the gifs. I can see the argument from both sides so I don't really see it as a witch hunt. It does legitimately look like he's doing it purposefully. If he got cleared by dci then I'm glad he wasn't banned for it.

Are there any new videos or links to when Bertoncini has cheated since he came back?

It's a witchhunt because it is putting entire careers on the line on 'suspicion'. Imagine if an employer looks up Jared Boettcher right now, the first thing he'd see is cheater cheater cheater. It doesn't matter if he's cleared by dci, the affects of simply accusing people is real.

Witch hunts are accusations without evidence. When someone does something that looks shady, it's the community's job to call them on their shit.

No, witch hunts are extensive investigations and/or the convictions that follow from hysteria based on bad evidence, not no evidence.
The Salem witch trials had evidence, tons of it, it was just all bad.

The Salem witch trials was based on accusations and correlations.
His evidence is based on videos of him looking really shady and the DCI saying he isn't.
Salem Witch trials would not have been seen as crazy if the judges and accusers ha video evidence of their populace performing rites and rituals that is usually associated with witchcraft.

Well, having played poker for a living, I can tell you that how you handle your cards is taken very seriously. I don't see why it should be any different when playing magic for prizes, especially big ones.
If you are a pro magic player you should know better, and if you don't handle your cards or your opponents cards properly you should expect repercussions.
(I have not been following this closely so I am not saying that people's reactions are correct. I am just saying in general)
