He pretty clearly moves a card to the top and then does about 10 more shuffles without ever changing the top card...

Just look at this vid that has his shuffle in slow-mo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLoG-azie6Y&feature=youtu.be He pretty clearly moves a card to the top and then does about 10 more shuffles without ever changing the top card... Which is why I said that in today's day and age its not always a witch hunt even if the guy is deemed innocent by the powers that be. He looks guilty to me, but its also still possible that that was an accident. DCI is okay with it, so whatever for now. But If he gets another accusation I would not be surprised.

That still looks very suspicious, though.

I would imagine a pro is very conscious of how they are shuffling, so if I had to guess I would say probably cheating.

Also, lifetime bans would have to be saved for black and white cases, as opposed to situations where it's not 100% clear if someone cheated or not, requiring a subjective ruling, in my opinion.

I don't know why they're tolerated such behavior and I hope most MTG players are informed about these guys and just stop playing them where ever they go. I don't believe much in giving people a second chance especially cheating, why? you ask, well it's because they know they're cheating and they wouldn't have stopped if they didn't get caught, it's not a mistake, they know they're taking advantages of others and they acted like they're innocent, they knew it but deep down inside they're too selfish.

Stream monsters in particular are WAY too quick in this day and age to jump on the Cheat Train BECAUSE of Bertoncini. He was the first notable person to do it, repeatedly, and 'Get Away with it.' While it would suck to not have access to it, I'm starting to think SCG should hide the vods for up to two or three weeks just to make people get back to what matters for this game, actually playing it. Instead of scrutinizing everything like has come up in the past.

Sad part is I assume he will stop doing it now and has just gotten away with it all. No disagreements. It's one of those "whoops my bad" that people are allowed to get away with and only if they are successful and get on a vod/top tables do you notice "he does that each round doesn't he?"

No really, I'm sure I could find the vods some where. During the World Championships earlier this year, They had the level 3 Judge watching the match to ensure that EVERY phase was met. 2 level 2 judges would shuffle the decks for the players whenever necessary. Personally, this is the best impartial approach. /s
