Btw, have you seen the race war replays in wc3? Did you notice really innovative strategies, or them changing the style of playing? Wc3 just isn't the kind of game which consists of strategy but of using a lot micro, which is fine for a lot of people and not likely for a lot others. In AOX for example you build many and different buildings anyway, so the basics for changing strategies are integrated, this doesn't really go for wc3 where you most likely chose a strategy from beginning without thinking of changing it, of course there are exceptions but this is how wc3 works for me. What I also didn't like in wc3 was the luck thing, things like good itemdrops are game deciding, if I find a book of experience at a creepspot and the other one gets a tome of strength this might very well decide an early battle, if I find a book of the dead and the other one gets a manastone this is also deciding and frustrating to lose against. In AOX I can usually tell what I did wrong and what I did good. I don't want this post show that AOX is the best game ever, it has its balance and map problems as lots of other games have, but it's already a game you can play a competive way and which has a lot more potential than wc3. A thing I also liked was the community, maybe it was because it is so small, but I just found them to be pretty mannered and supporting each other, and with the help of such as Senshin(come on again) or Daydreamer I definetely improved my skills, though I'm still far away from being really good. And really, 3days of intense gaming(so a total of 15games?) and watching a few replays(which are poor for the most part anyway) just aren't enough for getting a really good idea of it. That's atleast my opinion(but who the hell am I anyway ).

i actually think wc3 had a huge potential and i liked it a lot, but blizzard simply blew it. they never fixed things that needed fixing and probably never will. i have higher hopes for AoX because BHE know what they are doing, while blizzard provides mainly cosmetic patches that avoid any of the real issues. to me it seems as if they lost control over wc3 and are happy to have something more or less balanced and playable meanwhile. some time ago blizz hired the lead designer of BFME & the c&c series, so i guess they are working on a new RTS now, maybe starcraft 2. i really hope they get it done this time -_-

Unfortunately, this game looks even better than AoM, and even less advertised. wish I could play it but I don't think my computer would allow me. Even the single player demo runs slow as hell/crashes, with lowest settings. Multiplayer would just be..

"The procedure entry point SMaPLS could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll" ? Singe player works just groovy for me. Hmm...

In WC3 you have chaos only when you fight air vs air or when a lot of spells are flying around. One thing that AoX and SC:BW should steal from WC3 imo is the group management ^^ In wc3 it's just perfect, subgroups etc. you can quickly do whatever you like with your control groups (including things like ordering only one unit type of the group to move/attack or sth while you have entire group selected)
