And the next thing to ask would be if it is worth to wait für lvl50, cause surely there will be better guns around?
It tells you so when you get the golden key. It says the loot you get from the chest is based on your level.

lol I love the Avatar: TLA reference in the game, they reference the fire ceremony that Aang and Zuko had to do to appease the fire sages

Yea, I spent like 15 minutes trying to get all the lights green, then he showed up out of no where lol.
I saw the name and was like "I KNEW IT"
I figured something would happen if all the lights were green.
I also found the minecraft easter egg. Its REALLY easy to miss if you don't explore everywhere. Because a quest basically takes you right NEXT to it. If you don't explore, you won't find it.

Anybody wanna co-op? this game sucks playing by yourself, i got teamspeak skype etc. i just wanna beat this game maybe a couple times! But i am only level 13 atm...

Well, only got a couple hours in, but I'm really impressed so far. So many little, awesome touches. Attention to detail is really high, and the audio is consistently hilarious.
Actually, somehow, the hilarity of the audio is becoming my major complaint. I feel like a lot of the dialogue is wasted because it just plays straight on through battles, when I don't have time to read the subtitles and can't hear it clearly over the bandits screaming and my co-op buddy's combat chatter. Kind of a shame when I actually want to know what they're saying.
That does lead to a few great sequences in and of itself, of course. We had one moment fairly early on where HJ was randomly bs-ing away as usual, and we're fighting hordes of bandits. The battle starts to wind down and we both go, "Did you catch any of that? Do you think it was important?" Right on cue, the audio plays a horse's neigh and HJ adds, "Butt Stallion says hello!" We're both like, "Probably not." Quite amusing.

hum is it me or .. whenyou plaay this game multiplayer its major ninja looting fest... kinda frickin lame

In yet another "This game is definitely not balanced around single player" the giant flying robot fight on top of the mountain (deliberately obfuscated for spoilers) took ABSOLUTELY FOREVER to kill (ran out of ammo on all guns at 1 point), although it posed no real threat during that whole time thanks to a couple of choice hiding spots.
Also, the sidequest where Handsome Jack offers you a reward to kill yourself is hilarious.

Is this worse than the first borderlands from a single player perspective? I played much of the first game single player and I thought it was fine but reading so many players complaining for the sequel have me a bit worried.

Question for those of you who have made it deep into the game or maybe even beat it already. Is there any point in saving up money? I'm at level 10 and already have $6000 saved up. Aside from restocking on ammo I haven't spent any money at all. It seems pointless to buy weapons in a game where you continually loot better and better guns but if there's nothing else to buy then I may as well yes?
|
Personally, I just save money as an insurance policy. The worst feeling in the world is to see some ridiculous orange piece of work show up in a daily and not be able to buy it because you blew all your cash two minutes before.
Even with that taken into account, though, I'll almost immediately buy anything which is useful to me and an improvement on what I'm currently running. The favour of the RNG gods is far more important (and fleeting) than cash in your pocket. Obviously, that doesn't mean I buy everything on the shelf, but if good stuff is offered I'll pick it up happily. There's always more cash out there.
Don't be afraid to get something if it catches your eye, but don't buy junk just for the sake of spending money. That's it, really.

So far it's only gotten bad if the weapons you have don't quite match up with your enemy types. I also play as axton so it's like having another player that helps res me and can attack.

They are so much fun and that's where you will lose use all your money. Trust me it's hilariously fun and addicting.

The slot machines are pretty awesome :D
If you get 4 people together and do the slots, whenever one person wins money / eridian everyone gets it :D. I did this for 5 mins or so last night and now my level 10 axton has enough backpack SDUs to carry all the guns!! (I think we all made about 40 eridian for 2000$ or so each)

I have a question on the pre-load. I can't imagine that the game is just 4,5gb so my guess is that after release you need to download another big amount of data.
Because if i need another 10gb i'll try to stay up until the release for Europe happens (4 hours from now).

Anyone find any decent farming/grind spots yet?
I feel as my borderlands experience hasn't been completed with a good mindnumbing grind every now and then

I'm pretty sure that the pre-load is the entire game.
