Mohammad El Akkari joined the exclusive 100-point-game club when he scored 113 in a Lebanese league game Tuesday. Akkari, who came into the game averaging only 7.6 points per game in 23 contests, made 40-of-69 shots, including 32-of-59 3-pointers, according to fibaasia.net. He made only one free throw. "Thank god for this performance. I think it's all a result of my practice," Akkari said, according to fibaasia.net. "I also want to thank my coach for letting me play that long and all my teammates for helping." Records show that this was the first 100-point performance in an official game in any league of the FIBA Asia National Federations. According to fibaasia.net, 100 points have been scored in a game in Asia twice: Lou Salvador had 116 for the Philippines against China in the 1923 Far Eastern Games and Jeron Teng scored 104 points in a high school game in the Philippines. Akkari, a 27-year-old who has spent seven seasons with the Tripoli club, joins that group and legendary Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 100 points for the Lakers against the Knicks in 1962. Chamberlain, though, made 28 free throws in that game. "He's a phenomenal but very underrated shooter," Moutahed coach Ahmad Fadel said of Akkari. "He puts in a lot of hard work in practice. I am not surprised." Moutahed won the Lebanese Division A League Final Eight game against Bejjeh173-141.

With a playoff spot locked up and a grueling stretch ahead, San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich called it a "no brainer" to rest stars Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Hayward said the Jazz wanted to make a statement. ._.

I bet karma slaps them in the face and a team leaps over them to push them out of the top 7 Nah they've done a pretty poor job actually. They beat the Nuggets on what... Saturday? Then got walloped by them yesterday. 123-84. SERIOUSLY. The Warriors have to play the Spurs TWICE. And they still have to play the Hornets. FUCK. Just play the all-rookie squad MJ! JUST DO IT!

It's because they don't play defense. Actually, scores are pretty damn low in Europe, because defense is much tighter in the paint (no 3sec defensive violation in europe). Lebanon is just not a great basketball country.
