The fact that they didn't do well without CP3 just shows how good CP3 is. ftfy I think? Yeah same idea as Celtics without rondo maybe? But hooooly shit those handles from kyrie irving...absolutely ridiculous :o

Just imagine if they had a great bench PG; then their bench depth would be godly. Heat need another SF is what they need, if anything the key point in Heats success is LBJ. You can't replace players like that with depth. Chris Paul is uniquely excellent. If he goes down, he goes down. You can have a bench of point guards and it won't make a difference.

Right now TNT has their usual round table with their casters going on, while NBA TV has Stern's press conference.

James White @Flight8 Anyone who really knows me knows how much tonight means to me Been waiting to see this man dunk since 06. Here's hoping James White puts an end to all those lame props (and has something other than free throw line dunks prepared, unlike the NCAA contest...). Doesnt work, every overtime link redirects me to nba.com, and basicly ask me to get a pass for everything.

Yeah, Garnett is better than Jordan, but this team is built to be fast, take 3s and play above the rim. Garnett doesn't do that, and playing 15-18 feet from the basket doesn't help his shooters. Furthermore, they're also built on one of the best benches in the NBA and that's because of Crawford and Bledsoe, and how much pressure they put on backup guards at both ends. It has zero long term benefit and the short term benefit is overblown. If you can't resign Bledsoe and you're confident CP3 returns, then you get something that'll help you for the next few years, which is not Garnett. He might help on defense but he won't make them great on defense, especially if Vinny Del Negro is still the coach. And yeah, the game slows down in the playoffs but not by much anymore. The Thunder scored plenty of transition points on the Spurs last year, and likewise the Heat on the Thunder.
