One of the few legendary games you can ever get in your life. Will drain million of your hours... Its like Skyrim, Dragon age, Fallout and all rpg games. I'd say this is the ultimate RPG game ever! And I'd recommend that you don't get it if you want to have a life! Each quest has feels to have substance! Don't get sucked in!

But Witcher 3 is one of the best RPGs released in the last 10 years in both scope and depth. I have my little issues with it, but I will return to the game several times. Also, the load times can be unreasonable. If can put it on an SSD, do it.

The music in W3 is not just really good but also appropriate. It just sounds so fitting for the context the music is being played in and enhances the atmosphere. One of the highlights of the writing in general is that they're not afraid of tackling dark elements instead of just touching upon them. They can also inject humor in ways where the situation may become LOL-worthy, but written in a way where it's plausible because you understand why it's funny and how it transitions from normal Witcher-stuff to its humorous elements in a way that's consistent with the world itself. Gameplay is just passable for me though, but I do think that the expansions did make the gameplay more fun. Regardless, its strengths overshadows the weaknesses by far.

Story-wise, no, but I think TW1 is an interesting, albeit very diamond in the rough type game to play through on its own. It captures atmosphere very well and the progression with its mechanics like alchemy and growth as a witcher. The story is decent and is original enough to enjoy it, though it lacks the production value of the sequels. The combat is this hybrid between old school cRPGs and modern ARPGs, though people are very polarized with it. It's a very love or hate type combat system. The pacing can be horrendous at times though, especially chapters 1 and 2, which is where most people quit the game. I find it a game with a lot of love put into it from an amateur dev team at the time, but is very clunky in some aspects.

Either way Witcher 3 is probably the best single player RPG i have ever played and even without being as up to date as others that have played it i instantly felt invested into the characters and the story, it really is so well written.

If you thought of playing The Witcher 1 to know what happens before The Witcher 3, it's imo better to watch videos about the story. However, The Witcher 1 is a very interesting game to play on its own, though very different from TW2 and 3 gameplay-wise.

Or pirate it and buy it later when you have cash, nothing wrong with that. Saw this picture on Reddit, are those kilts difficult to get?
