I have seen more and more people posting on reddit that their aim is 100% on someones head, they are not moving, 100% accurate and still not hit a headshot. This is very frustrating. Does Valve have any plan on fixing this at all? This is ruining both the game and the game's reputation... Remember not all weapons have a 100% first shot accuracy, especially at longer ranges. Thats why Deagles tend to be more of a game of bingo right now

I've done the port forwarding thing but still no one can connect to my server. They used to be able to do it. I'm not sure what is going on and I can't find any help anywhere.

I honestly didn't know other's could connect to you when you played offline with bots in the first place, but if it worked before then make sure your router haven't given your computer a new ip address. When it's not statically linked, it can change once in a while, and since ports are forwarded to a specific ip, if yours is changed then it won't work anymore. Have your friends check if your port is open with something like nmap.

But still, there's not even a message on my server log.

When people say source 2 what does it mean? Does it mean they will do it much much later, or they will never do it?

If you want better hit reg, you're gonna have to play on 3rd party server providers, ESEA/FACEIT/CEVO/etc. If you want even better, you're gonna have to play on LAN.

I need to practice spraying them down with an AK when they exit b tunnels on dust2, and I don't think I will find 5 people to just run at me pistol no armor for an hour in a row.

For the majors, the spot is owned by the lineup (at least 3 players). That's the only tournament they decide about, even though some tournament organizers tend to follow their procedure. But some others go with the org (like ESL in its Proleague, who kept Fnatic in despite 3 of the players of the lineup that owned the spot left the team).

Is this connected to the reddit post "an entity owns 3/8 major spots..."? (An investment company owns SK, VP and Na'Vi) Valve never said anything about a org/company/holding whatever having more then one team of the same strengh. Riot got mad at some point at Samsung and some other LCK teams and forced them to shut down their 2nd teams (that have been equally strong and thus much better then NA/EU) but Valve never cared in Dota II, they didnt care about MVP Phoenix/MVP Hot6 and other who have been owned by the same company in Dota. EHOME or LGD got up to 5 teams at some point in time. In CS:GO there is also nothing about an Org owning more then one team of equal strengh and I guess, they do not care again.

I often see people claiming "oh this map is T/CT favored" but I'd like to see some actual numbers. Yeah there are, you can probably google them. But competitive MM winrates even at the higher ranks arent a strong reflection. Mostly for 2 reasons. 1) T sides are generally weaker because its MM (thats just an observation playing at high ranks but I doubt the conventional wisdom is incorrect. So if someone says a map is T sided during your MM game that is generally a meaningless statement because alot of it is predicated on some measure of teamwork (provided all other things such as individual skill etc are generally equal) Maybe dust 2 is an exception. 2) The meta at the pro level is alot more nuanced with some maps becoming T or CT sided based on how the pro level meta evolves.

I'm just getting into it (played a ton of CS and CS Source before) and playing at my native 2560x1440.

Habit, mostly. A lot of the pros have played the game since early 1.6 days, and changing just a single setting can fuck up their gameplay for a very long time. Same reason why you still find pro's playing in 4:3 on a widescreen display. The other is fps. Lower resolution usually means higher fps. Input delay is noticeable up to several hundred fps.

I'm on a pair of GTX 980Ti's so frame rates are not an issue.

Also, pros do not necessarily play with a super low resolution (for a standard definition of that concept, your native 2560x1440 is quite high IMO). As you can see here, it ranges from 800x600 up to the standard 1920x1080.

I've always played at highest / native resolution so I'll keep doing that.
