+ Show Spoiler + He triggers 3 different pods at once and The Warlock decides to join the fun. No fucking around trying to get kills, evacs on the very first turn he can with everyone. I've evac'd from 2 retaliation missions myself when the assassin decided to bullrush me when I had 2 pods and a faceless on top of me. Insta evac, fuck the region, fuck the civilians, I'm not giving up even 1 of my soldiers for this crap. Rather have to make contact with the region AGAIN, rather than getting someone killed. Also, who the fuck listens to what Bradford of all people has to say?

Even though you deal more damage per shot, they almost always hit their shots from my experience

That the expansion is still awesome says alot about it though. Still hope they will do some polishing. Love the continent effect, where pods activated on xcom turn lose 1 action point.

Ive finished on commander now and its insane how easy the game gets around july-august. It bugs me more that all the new stuff is completly overpowered. Between ruler armor and chosen weapons, faction soldiers and the spark, i had not a single stock weapon/armor on my soldiers in most missions. And those weapons though...the sniper and assault rifle are insane as hell. Shotgun and katana are meh. Then theres the Tactical analysis bonus that makes pod activation not scary anymore and the "stealth mission countdown doesnt start while youre in stealth" which make the missions win by default. Also since covert ops dont stop you can play endlessly and just make super soldiers before you do the last mission, my templar had 20 mobility by the time my psi-ops was finally ready.

Each was able to get within one square of a soldier after moving ~30 squares so I couldn't run from them, and they have too much hp to kill in one round unless you get lucky.

I just had my first one of the campaign, and was able to kill the assassin and the soldiers without losing anyone (except an unconscious napper) but then two faceless spawned and wrecked me. The first retaliation mission? If you mean the second then you need to have 5 men by that time. Also flashbangs are your friends. And rangers.

Do you recommend bringing more than one flashbang? I had one, but it was with the soldier that was stabilized/unconscious after getting swatted by the assassin. I didn't have much room for equipment because my grenadier was tired, and I brought a reaper. I could have brought another flashbang instead of the med kit but then I probably would have lost two soldiers instead of just one...

The best way to deal with the faceless is to bring the grenades that reveals a portion of the map (battlescanners ?). It also reveals hidden units such as faceless, so you just throw it into the cluster of civilians, and voila, you discover it after researcher advent soldier corpse, so you can acquire it in time if you wish. From there, you just kite them, if they can attack you if you move + shoot, then you double move. Double flashbang early on is because normally you would kill everything before the sectoids, since they are not a direct danger, so if they get a mind control, you can remove it. It is also very helpful in turns where you can't kill some soldiers, or you want stun lancers not to be able to stun you (if they haven't change it, since now melee units can attack you when on fire aswell).

Thanks for the tip, I'll prioritize flash bangs a bit more I guess.
