Anyone else here plan on getting it? We can maybe setup a TL team for competitive play (3v3 will be the main mode).
Here's some gameplay:
It's coming out on July 7th btw. Let me know if you're interested!

I'll be playing on the PS4, of course crossplay is supported but I'm not sure if you'll be able to actually party up with people on other platforms, but I'm up for playing w/ TL people. I'm really happy it got onto PS+, I just bought another year for $50 and honestly, I would've dropped that for this game alone.

Check out thus rocket league tutorial that was released yesterday. Looks like this old school SARPBC player is going to create Day9 Filtersc content.

I had this same question, and as of now it is not supported. This question was raised on the official forums and never officially answered. I don't know how hard this would be to include and will probably be pushed back well after the spectator client gets released. Best bet for now is Steam boxing or HDMI ing into your big screen :/

I just found this picture on reddit, i dont know how its being done but seems like you might be able to split the screens up. Mind you this guys is using 4 Gamecube controllers + adapters. http://imgur.com/U3PsMhu and the thread for reference --> https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/3ckh0l/my_steam_splitscreen_setup/ edit: So the guys explains it in that thread, but ill just quote is here: + Show Spoiler + So first you need to enable surround on your monitors (nVidia control panel or AMD equivalent if there is one). Then in the RocketLeague/Engine/Config folder, open the BaseSystemSettings.ini file. These are the lines to change: ResX= ResY= AllowSecondaryDisplays=True SecondaryDisplayMaximumWidth= SecondaryDisplayMaximumHeight= Set ResX and ResY to your full multi-monitor resolution. Then change the SecondaryDisplay X/Y's to the individual resolutions. To get my array to work, I had to configure my surround as a 2x2 (because RL's 4 player split screen is a 4x4 grid). My bottom monitors are 1080p and my top one is 1440p. The 2x2 array knocked the top one down to 1080p so my settings were 3840x2160 and 1920x1080 respectively. Not sure how RocketLeague handles 3 player split-screen though, you may have to get creative.

Hopefully the community can stay strong for a good amount of time...I'm in love with this game. I got home from work yesterday and was like "Hey I'll play Rocket League on the PS4 while I wait for the dog to finish in the back yard." I forgot he was out there until he started getting into it with the neighbor's dog (the reason we don't leave him out there). Then I was like "OK that's probably enough Rocket League, let's go upstairs and get on the PC." I spent about 30 seconds deciding what to play on my PC before booting up Rocket League. Proceeded to play for 2 more hours until my wife got home. And that was just playing against bots or randoms online, the fun goes up exponentially when you are on skype with actual people playing as a team.

The official wii u adapter is not until you install some third party drivers. After that I installed x360ce, which allows you to map your controller buttons.

Personally, I use ball cam about 90% of the time and only switch when going for boost or trying to line up that hard/aerial shot.

At least around here, you can get a wired 360 controller for under $30,making the total price of playing Rocket League effectively on your PC still less than a AAA title, and well worth the money IMO. Plus I've found it handy to have a PC controller around for games like Dark Souls and Rocket League that really are meant for play with a controller.

Can have fun if you only have 20 mins to play something quick... but it has an insane skill cap. Nothing beats taking on 3 defenders solo, and getting the ball through/around them and into the net by yourself. Same with big saves...getting an aerial save in front of your own net feels amazing. Sometimes tho..since i have only played 3 hours..i still get horrible noobs in matchmaking... had a team where 1 of them had 3 own goals..and managed to ruin 2 of my goal attempts by knocking it away from me as I have a straight shot on goal.. It gets infuriating when you have a bad teammate ruining everything you set up. Those Aerial outplays are AWSOME tho. Cant get any of my friends into it since they dont like soccer... im Tekn0Viking on Steam if you wann play

Wanted something like this for a long time now and this definitely hits a sweet spot for me. Feels like the game has surprisingly high skill ceiling too and pulling off a sick play is quite rewarding. There's even free hats.

Big aerial saves feel so fucking good, the game feels a lot like Towerfall in the sense that anyone can pick up and play but the skill ceiling is high. I've not got stressed or angry once when playing, I've seen some people rage quit but a game is 5 minutes and in most cases you can pull it back. I'm playing in semi-pro now though which seems to be a good step up, people still make bad plays or cock things up and clusterfuck around the ball but no one is terrible and most people seem capable of pulling out some sick shots & saves when they need to. On PS4 its all about the quick chat too, great feature, I give props to everyone, sometimes people are quiet but a lot of the time people respond and it makes for a much better atmosphere of friendly competition. Its a solid 9.5/10 for me, up there with Towerfall.

Also on ballcam, I use it 99% of the time, the only times I switch it off is when I boost back from opponents goal to my own. I find that it's really hard to A-A (or w/e the ps equivalent of the button is) accurately with the ball cam if the ball is on the side and you're trying to go in a straight line back to your own goal. I do wonder if playing (or temporarily turning it off) without ball cam can sometimes make plays easier though. I've half a mind to turn it off occasionally when attempting to block shots, because prediction for some high balls/bounces seems to be too hard when it's turned on. So far I like 2v2 the best. 3v3 (and 1v1 to an even greater extent) is 'ok' but it's hit and miss when it comes to opponents and teammates in terms of skill level. Sometimes you face off against guys who just dominate everyone (including their own teammates) in the air with skill flights and stuff. And then the next game guys can't even A-A balls properly. Thinking that's partly because of the fact this game is still quite new and people haven't been set into their proper rating yet.

The first part of the video is about camera settings, which is a little interesting. However, as people have been talking about ballcam and when to use it, I thought this would be useful for a lot of us. The ballcam part with Kronovi starts around 5:35.

The initial setting I actually found the most interesting. Upon loading the game, my FPS experience immediately said "bigger FOV options?! Sign me up!" so that was bit validating. Holy moley does Camera Stiffness/Camera Swivel make a HUGE difference!! I felt like I had to be so delicate before, but with these settings I over-correct much less. @gTank thanks for letting me play with you guys the other night! That was SUPER fun... holy crap. Rocket League is much more intense with 'zee Germans screaming and trash-talking in your ear . Very much enjoyed it!

With 2v2 and 3v3, there are some incredible combinations that can be pulled off. Each 5 minute game is basically a non-stop highlight reel, and it's easy to pull out best plays and incredible goals just like with the real sport. It's more entertaining than real football in many ways, I used to watch football but 90 minute games is just too long, and most games are fairly dull to be honest unless it's the world cup or champions league finals. Maybe in the future, it's possible to have even bigger maps and 4v4 or 5v5, with maybe 10 minute games, there are many ways it can succeed and I think that with a good community, it can really be awesome. I would love to watch Rocket League tournaments, and can't wait to see this game take off! And best of all it's really fun and each time you play, you will be wow'ed by someone else or laugh when someone completely misses the ball and rockets past ^^

How hard is it to copy paste the 2v2 system into 3v3? I can't play this game anymore, you hit a ceiling where its pure RNG and if you get 20 downies in a row, no matter how good you play, they'll ruin it for you.

I suck so much, but so do all the other people in normal matches, its really hard to not press the button for 1 more match. Genius game, simple and fun and yet so much skillcap.

The new arena is a bit weird though, it feels larger and there's too much bloom, hoping they will fix it as boost pads on red side are quite hard to see. The walls appear to have no texture until you get close too. But it's fun to play in not sure if I prefer 'vanilla' arena's or the new one, gonna have to play it more I guess. I also believe 4 bucks for 2 cars is a bit on the heavy side (20% of initial game purchase cost) so I'll most likely not bother with any of that. edit: I'm not a smart man when it comes to numbers!

I like the new decals on them though was hoping we'd see a couple of them on the 'old' cars. And the new rocket animations are quite good too. It's ok value for what you get really, after my initial assumption of it being a bit overpriced.

Discovered this games recently, after watching some streams and trying a bit I decided to buy it (my initial plan was to wait for sales but couldn't). I'm an absolute shitter but this game feels really fun. I like the fact the games are short as well, it's less stressful to lose match, it's just for 5mins. Adding my ID to the list !

It will take a while to "die off" and even then will have a dedicated base of players. If you think it's something you might enjoy, I'd jump in now. My interest in Rocket League is slowly starting to dwindle, but I was playing like 3 hours a day and now I play 3-5 matches per day and probably will for the foreseeable future. After 65 hours in the game I feel like my $20 was well-spent, even if I stopped playing tomorrow. It truly is a special experience, and I haven't grouped with another player for a single match in all 65 hours, all solo. I would imagine with friends it's even better.

http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ shows that there's around 30k (peak) players a day for Rocket on Steam and that's not counting all the people that play it via PSN who got it for free. Perhaps it'll come to xbox one at some point in the future that would further in crease the player base, but that's wild speculation I suppose, I see more reasons for that not to happen than it happening. Regardless of any of that if you buy it now I'd say you will absolutely get your money's worth out the game even if it dies off within the next couple of months, which I highly doubt given how the steam stats have shown from release to now a steady (increase in) number of players.

The entire series is worth watching with scrappy, gruff positional play throughout. Both teams were able to disrupt the flow of assists and have aggressive challenging defenses. If you have time for no more, you absolutely must watch game 3(spoilers... The series guys the distance)! 16:16 is the tip off. The games just kept getting better all the way to the end.

The game being fairly new, a skill disparity is to be expected, especially with few players coming from SARPBC. There are also strong players on EU it seems, Paschy90, de Boers, etc, but the ping makes it hard for them to compete in MLG I guess.

The next big MLG RL feature is going to be an EU vs NA showdown featuring the top two or three teams from each region. The previous tournament was MLG piggybacking onthe existing Gamebattles tournament structure and offering prize money to the winners. As with all games it seems, EU has much better, more experienced teams generally. Hopefully we NA boys can close the gap a bit. Maybe the tournament can be hosted on NA to even the playing field. :D While there are issues of ping in between the continental servers, I don't know how they impact gameplay as much as games like csgo where the aim calculations are so minute. Even within the continent, the Psy servers have been experiencing processing issues that trigger massive rubberbanding but no one complained of this issues in the tournament thankfully.

I can understand how it's meant to be easier to use, but having this huge thing pop on the screen is terrible from a viewer perspective.

I suppose with increased experience from casters casting and observing the game they'll start figuring that out and perhaps Psyonix can create a smart way of swapping between camera's.

The casters seemed to be a bit inexperienced; while Cosmic Anarchy had been scoring goals by ramming the goalkeeper throughout the tournament, they didn't mention the tactic until midway through the finals, and only noticed because that particular ramming resulted in a demolition.

I for one am pretty excited to see what they bring to the table and how they choose to display the games. Personally I feel like casting the games with KB/M is MUCH much easier than the dual thumbpad nonsense (sorry... my master race streak is showing). The angles and run along shots you can create seem much easier to say nothing of the beauty of keybinds for quick camera changes. In related GO4RL news, TeamRocket was upset in their first round of today's Go4RL EU tournament by up-and-coming German team Supersonic Avengers. Crazy for such an early upset so early in the bracket! Paschy's team, Team Famous found streaming on Paschy's stream is still competing and climbing. They may hit the other big team soon, Team Weamy, and it's main player M1k3Rules. Here's the live bracket. Edit: There's a new community shoutcaster trying to snag as many games as he can, Shalthis. Check out his stream as he's about to cast Weamy versus Supersonic Avengers. Don't know how long his voice is going to last.... showing signs of strain already.

The games themselves with Cosmic Aftershock was pretty boring most of it was just stomping other teams. The other games were much closer and way more interesting to watch. Hope we get a lot more teams of CA's level soon. Psyonix is aware of the selection wheel being annoying and is working on it, it seems. https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/3ht4jn/wtf_did_just_happen_at_the_mlg_finals_kou_vs_ca/cuabl3e

Octophonix or whatever that team was named was upsetting big teams with that dedicated goalie strat. But after game 1 being close, CA adjusted and just crushed them by double digits. I was hoping Untethered would put up more of a fight. They seemed a bit off in that series with multiple over-commitments to aerials and a lack of synergy on offense.

Most of the other teams just got so pressured into their own half so that they couldn't build up any sort of attack I think it was the third game between CA and VQ where they were finally able to break that pressure and score a couple of goals and take it to overtime. That was the most interesting game of the series for me.

If you liked that linked video just you wait.... As soon as MLG uploads the video, I'll link the final series of the EU vs NA grudgematch!! It was amazingly good. If you though the KoU-CA match was good... just wait. Just wait. :-) There won't be spoilers in the link. I'll be posting the official shoutcast and the Gibbs eye-view. As of now I've only seen the Gibbs video and it was great to see them in action. Their communication is really working much better of late. Sadjunior is actually communicating effectively and Kronovi has grown into the role of coach and motivational speaker. They are getting stronger. EDIT: yea... after a good deal of looking I can't find the program or the original link. Might try the motioninjoy one if they allow for better thumb calibrations. Or I could just be mis-remembering and using the Better DS3 config file for the motioninjoy. Try this link. EDIT EDIT: and I don't see your name on the buddy list *ahem* heheh. The d-pad and normal buttons feel better on the Xbox One, the triggers feel better on the 360 (the Xbox One controller feels more linear in its force curve, if that makes sense). The analog sticks feel pretty similar on both (although the 360 might be slightly better). I use the Xbox One controller exclusively now (mainly because it has a cord, whereas my 360 controller is wireless and thus requires me to recharge batteries often), but I think I could switch between the two fairly easily, would just need a day or so to get used to it again.

I personally pley with an arcade stick (mini hori 3) 'cause that's all I have, works fine :^) I just need the keyboard for quick chat. Awesome save by Gibbs indeed. Also do you guys play mostly ranked or what ? I've only played normals so far but I'm considering ranked 'cause I'm getting really annoyed by the fact the games puts you in games already half-done. Most of the cases of leavers are because of rage, so starting to play 0-3 with 3min left is extremely frustrating. It seems this does not happen in ranked right ?

Partying across platform isn't available yet. Edit to answer your question: Being tossed into a leavers game is impossible in ranked. It's also impossible to start a ranked game without all parties readying to play. I don't really play ranked 3v3 since the update because it can be premade vs randoms and only pay 2v2 with a friend. 1v1 you get the ragekids. You get 1 'lucky' kickoff ball and they immediately spam OMG SUCH LUCK NOOB L2P after which you silence their bullshit with another 6 goals that were not lucky in the slightest, but I do get really fucking tired of 1v1 ranked because of them and the kickoff which they really need to change. I tend to play 3v3 pubs for fun and to practice my aerials. I don't mind losing too much in unranked. On the controller issue I don't think Xbox or PS controllers really do anything for how you play, they both have thumbsticks and buttons and it really comes down to your own play. That said though I highly doubt you could play this game without a decent controller. I would recommend the Xbox Controller as it works with every game that has (partial) controller support and doesn't require 3rd party programs. I think it comes down to personal preference mostly though, I mean I've always played Xbox and never touched Playstation controllers (outside of the, imo, awful ps1 and 2 ones) so I might be slightly biased towards Xbox related products. edit: Also I'm pretty sure that CA played from PC (they didn't have the icon for playstation's online thing) in the go4 (which hilariously sounded like gopher to me everytime the casters mentioned it xD) thing.

A RL friend of mine pre-ordered the Steam Controller and was pleasantly surprised with his copy of Rocket League. It's a pretty smart cross-promotion thing on Steam's part, but if you pre-order the controller you get a copy of RL and Portal 2 I believe. In related news, the NA scene is equalizing! The last two weekly tournaments, ESL and Gamebattles, have seen Cosmic Aftershock fall in the semis! Kings of Urban and Untethered are consistently challenging the crowned champions of the Pre-Season. KyleMasc from Kings of Urban, the guy who hit the last second shot in the first MLG tournament, is streaming more and has a good personality/approach to his audience. Yeah, 1v1 is a completely different beast than the team games, and the kickoff meta is one of the most opaque aspects of the game. As a general rule of thumb, the person who wins the kickoff usually hits slightly later (after) his opponent and/or hits the ball from a lower impact point. That will give you the best chance for optimal impact. You'll also discover that some people don't go for the kickoff and chooseto counter the opening shot. After going up against that you'll be able to scout it as it happens and take a nice shot.

Here's the link to the live stream! How I wish they would stream on Twitch, but oh well.... --- The ESL monthly finals are currently live right now on a collection of Twitch streams. Shalthis is solo casting as he can and Paschy and others are streaming from first person perspective. Check it out! --- @gTank I know that the 3s kickoff feels random, but the higher levels are starting to develop really cool set plays off the kickoff! Now there's another mini metagame surrounding what type of clearance you're expecting and setting up for the trailing player. Once I get home and off mobile, I've got another awesome must-watch match for you all from 3 different perspectives. The games from the finals of ESL NA #6 show beautifully both the different kickoff approaches, but more importantly also the "boost denial" metagame. Stealing a team's boost can cripple a defense and neuter an possible counter play. In these matches, you actively see people going out of the way to maintain that boost dominance, calling it timers in real time and announcing when other players are boost-less. So cool to see the teamplay and strategies develop! The spectator client does need an upgrade though.... It's hard to see the boost game without visible level meters even when in player cam mode. Oh well, I'm sure they'll address it. Edits: numerous updates, amendments, and adjustments as needed. God I hate posting on my phone.

Was it just you and your friends? My stats aren't reset. Is your situation similar to this one on reddit? It's not my personal stats or progress, it's the entire leaderboard stats, I doubt that could just affect me and my friend. I'l check again once I get home.

Screenshots of what's going on: http://imgur.com/a/cnSfz All my friends who have rocket league have way less wins than they should + no.1 has hardly any wins. Strange thing is going on with the saves leaderboard cause there's some people with extremely high number of saves so possibly not everything has been reset for everyone.

Solo queue 3v3 is available as well as the original 3 modes. Rewards for attaining Bronze, Silver, and Gold will be rewarded at the end of the season. Unfortunately, the first couple days were not without growing pains. Turns out the matchmaking system was fairly broken relative to pre-season MMR, making it possible for lower-tier gold players to level up astronomically faster than the pro-level players. Psyionix didn't waste any time addressing these issues publicly with an extensive reddit post detailing their plans and current shortcomings. They've continued rolling out changes to address any issues as they come up. The MLG Pro-League is in full swing. The production quality of the league has ramped up beautifully! One dedicated chase game and one dedicated distant cam with a producermaking the snap decision between the two looks really good. You can check out the tail end of Week 2's games right now on the official MLG Stream. Sadly, the first week of games have been crushingly one-sided affairs. The favorites have shown why they're favorites. Standings after Week 1 and half of Week 2: DIVISION 1 NA Kings of Urban 6-0 EU Flipsid3 Tactics 8-4 EU Swarm Gaming 3-3 NA Perfect Storm 1-5 NA Mad Magic 0-6 DIVISION 2 NA Cosmic Aftershock 11-1 NA VQ Untethered 5-1 EU Supersonic Stars 1-5 EU Team Shazoo 1-5 NA Air Force Two 0-6

Also what's up with 2v2 ranking. Me and lone were 900ish before the patch then got seeded to gold 3 (700) and then we just started losing until we reached like 500 something. Got back to 650ish now but like have they changed who is at what rating so is 900 pre patch now 700ish?

Check out this great write-up on the teams by Dirkened if you're interested in hearing more. Honestly I'm a bit pissed off because MLG advertised this to begin at 4pm EDT.... By logging in at the set time I've already missed the upset of the tournament! Oh well...

Still loving this game so please do hit me up if you feel like playing. Having such a quickly-iterating, enjoyable ladder experience has helped the slow grind up from 400. P.S. you can drive this now: + Show Spoiler [Youtube promo video] +

And more to the point why? :D I had plans to chart the overall rate of change and reference it against my hidden TrueSkill rating (which I have yet to track in 3v3 solo). But mainly, I just like charts and seeing progression. I find it promotes and rewards organized practice sessions. It also helps me break away from gaming when I tilt... I have a new policy of stopping playing if I lose 3 games in a row to poor decision-making. My 1v1 chart is much more helpful. In it I keep track of the rating of my opponents and the corresponding RP rate of change. But as I never played 1v1 before the season, the information is a bit skewed.

How did you find out your TrueSkill or is it just something you assume based on the data you're gathering or have gathered? This is the best way of doing rocket league laddering imo. Me and lone generally play 2v2's and then at some point say 1 more till we lose. Because after like a session you really start to see a degradation in your play (not always, but most of the time).

Edit: Also Some people seem to think the SARPBSCS(#$SNN#NSOFJas arenas are making a return. So oddly shaped instead of 100% identical except for the graphics.
