Summoner's War is a freemium mobile strategy RPG along the lines of Brave Frontier, Puzzle and Dragons, Seven Knights, Monster Strike, Crusader's Quest, etc. You collect monsters, equip them with runes, and battle other monsters in various PvE and PvP settings.
I've tried a lot of mobile games and I feel like this is one of the better ones out there in this genre. Yes it can be considered heavily P2W, but the game gives out a ton of free premium currency, and you don't have to spend a cent to be able to accomplish everything in the game outside of a top PvP ranking. Yes there is a ton of endless grinding involved, but the autobattle feature allows you to not have to actively play the game, while still playing the game.
On top of that, the servers are well-populated, we get frequent events and updates, there's quite a bit of teambuilding strategy involved (with lots of theorycrafting and min/max spreadsheeting for those interested), it's decently balanced with regular balance patches, and the graphics are pretty sweet for a mobile game.
I'm sure there are other TL'ers out there that currently play Summoner's War, so I figured I'd start a thread for discussion and to get new people to try it. If we get enough people maybe we can even start a TL guild.
For those who are new, the subreddit (www.reddit.com/r/summonerswar) is the best community/resource for the game, with plenty of guides. Feel free to ask any questions here though and I (or others) will be glad to answer them!
Join our guild (global server): search TeamLiquid in guilds and request to join. We've merged with Kindred Society but we're still very much active. Reply to this thread or pop in to our Discord and you can still join us!
started off a few days ago. I'm a little stumped on beating the 5th floors of Giants/dragons/necro.. At what point are you supposed to be beating these? When scenarios are concerned, I am stuck on the boss monster of faimon volcano.
Magic Knight ----- blade/fatal runes; Water Assassin ------ swift/blade runes; Inugami ----- fatal/blade runes (got inugami to 4 stars; currently working on evolving him to raoq, but evolving seems quite tough)
I'm a bit stumped because my damage seems to be kinda low compared to what I would want. What can I do to move on? the monsters are pretty much all max levelled.
Salamander *** Grim Reaper x2 *** Viking *** Sylphid **** ----- Water Warbear *** Water Griffon *** Water High Elemental *** Water Fairy *** ----- Earth Elven Ranger *** Earth Kobold bomber **** ---- Light Garuda
what leader skill is it better to focus on? Should I stick with my water Sylph, or use someone who increases my attack or hp instead? I'm quite sad that I don't have any aoe healer and I feel that it shuts me down a lot I don't want to invest much in fairy because she's just single target heals and they kinda seem meh and not worth giving up a slot over.
EDIT: rereading your post, I just want to make sure... you're aware that once a monster hits max level you can evolve it to the next star right? Any monster can be evolved to 6* and reach 6* lvl 40. To evolve a 3* monster to 4*, that 3* monster needs to be max level (lvl 25), and you need to feed it any 3 3* monsters (any level). To evolve a 4* monster to 5*, it needs to be lvl 30, and you feed it 4 4* monsters (any level). Etc, etc. When you talk about "evolving" your Fire Inugami to Raoq, that process is called awakening.
Here's my suggestion for optimal beginner progression:
1. Establish a farmer. A farmer is someone who can solo a scenario, so you bring 3 fodder monsters with it and that's how you generally level things up in this game.
Depending on your playstyle, you should opt for 1 of 2 types of farmers: a slow, energy efficient farmer, or a fast, time efficient farmer. If you are ok with checking your phone throughout the day, don't really want to sit down and actively play for hours, and are generally trying to make the most efficient use of your energy, then you should go with a slow farmer. If you can't really check on your phone throughout the day, just want to sit down and quickly use up all your energy from time to time, and are generally trying to get the most out of a limited amount of time to play (or you're willing to spend a lot of money/crystals for refills), then you should go with a fast farmer.
If you're going with the slow route, you should acquire a Ramagos (Wind Warbear). He's only 2 stars, so you can easily get him from the shop or from US (unknown scroll). Equip him with all energy runes. You should be immediately able to farm Hydeni Hell with him, and then you can progress to Aiden Normal, and then Aiden Hard or even Hell depending on how lucky you get with runes. Aiden Forest is one of the most energy efficient farming spots in the game.
If you're going with the fast route, you should keep working on your Tyron (Water Sylph). For others who don't have him or other viable farmers, Lapis (Water Magic Knight) or Raoq (Fire Inugami) are your 2 best options. You want to be able to farm Faimon Normal with him, and then progress up to Faimon Hard.
So basically your first goal right now should be to get a 5* max level (lvl 35) Ramagos or Tyron. If you go with Tyron and you're getting to the point where you can almost farm Faimon Hard but not 100% of the time, then you should even go ahead and 6* him first.
2. After you get a farmer, you should acquire the following monsters, level them all to 5* max level, and slowly start skilling them up. These monsters, along with your farmer, can carry you through most of the early game, while still remaining useful throughout the entire game.
- Shannon (Wind Pixie) - shop or US - Bernard (Wind Griffon) - drops from Tamor - Belladeon (Light Inugami) - secret dungeon on Sundays - Konamiya (Water Garuda) - shops or US
Light Inugami is the trickiest to get, since he's only available in secret dungeons on Sundays. You just have to stay in public chat channels and carefully watch, as soon as someone gets a Light Inugami secret dungeon, go ahead and add them as a friend. Then you'll have access to the SD for an hour, in which you need to farm 40 pieces in order to summon one.
3. Now comes the big grind. Your next goal should be fusing a Veromos (Dark Ifrit). It's a long process but definitely worth it, he's pretty much used for almost everything in the game. Check fusion charts here for what monsters you need: http://imgur.com/a/DVJSl. The only 2 fusion pieces for Veromos that are not farmable are the Fire Beast Hunter, and the Wind Lizardman. I suggest saving up all your crystals for premium packs (the 750 crystal for 11 mystical scrolls) until you get these 2 monsters. Afterwards, it's up to you whether you want to continue buying more premium packs, or using crystals for refills.
4. Once you get a Veromos, you're ready to go to Giants B10. Your basic team is Vero (leader), Bella, Shannon, Bernard, +1. The +1 can be Kona, or a number of other options because by then you could potentially have other things to work with. 6* Vero and Bella is a must, the others can remain 5*, although if you need to then 6*'ing Shannon is not a bad idea either. I was able to go straight to GB10 without ever farming any of the lower floors of Giants, although I did have to spend a week or so doing manual for the boss until I could auto it. It's not terrible if you have to farm GB8 for awhile before you go to GB10, but I would not waste any time doing anything lower than GB8.
Now to answer your specific questions:
1. Don't worry about Giants/Dragons/Necro for now. Farm the units I mentioned above, and you should be able to easily progress through all the scenarios and work your way up in Giants. Dragons comes after Giants, and your GB10 team should be able to do DB8 as well. Necro is late game.
2. Ignore pretty much everything you currently have other than Tyron. Just stick them in storage for now. Don't feed any natural 4*'s (i.e. Wind Kobold Bomber, Water Assassin, Fire Sylphid), don't feed any unfarmable L/D monsters (i.e. Light Garuda) and don't feed anything that's a fusion material. But things like Fire Viking, Fire Grim Reaper, Water Warbear (can be used to skill up Ramagos), Water High Elemental, and Water Fairy are safe to use as food. I would also save Fire Battle Mammoth and Wind Elven Ranger, themselves they are useless but they can be used to skill up other useful monsters you may get later (Water or Dark Battle Mammoth, Fire Elven Ranger).
3. Damage isn't really important early on. You can get through all of early-mid game with just 100% support monsters and no damage dealers at all.
4. Tyron has an excellent leader skill, attack speed is one of the most important stats for everyone in any situation.
5. Bella will be your aoe healer. Don't invest in water fairy, you can use her as food.
I do know that you can increase the star count on monsters. I just started playing some 2-3 days ago so I don't really have many monsters to feed to get past 4 stars, haha.. I'm working on it though with rainbowmons (I have 7 of them at 3* currently but nothing at 4* yet)
After reading a ton of guides and whatnot, I did understand that Bella is a superb monster to have and I actually tried getting into a SD with him today all day, but only 1 person accepted my friend invite(during the entire day...), but the dgn said that it had too many people in it so i never got a chance to even go in
I've also read up that a Water Warbear can be used to good effect to farm Faimon Hell. Do you think I should maybe work on that instead since I already have him? Also, I don't really see how can tyron solo anything. He does barely any damage for me, and his stun is great and all but it isn't 100% on everyone and it's once in like what.. 4 turns? I kinda feel like he needs to be evo'd and lvl40'd and have insanely good runes for that to work, and I think that's way out of my league currently. I can't even awaken tyron because I can't get access to his mats (the HIGH rarity ones are so tough to get, judging by my progress from hall of magic today)
just how strong is the increase from 4* to 5* anyway, in terms of raw stats? I'm only at Level 14 atm, tho I guess that if I really wanted to, then I could get my Sylph to 5* during the next day or two. Making him a Tyron will have to wait quite a bit longer tho I suppose many people say raoq is pretty much the god of farming, what do you think? not worth investing at all since I have tyron?
what do you think about the runes I am using?
Also -- what exactly does Resistance and Accuracy do ? Can monsters actually miss in this game? I haven't seen that happen yet.
as for this -->
"3. Damage isn't really important early on. You can get through all of early-mid game with just 100% support monsters and no damage dealers at all."
it doesn't feel like it :C my full team of damage dealers can't beat faimon normal, so how can my tyron hope to do it alone ?
As for skilling up - is there some easy way to do this that I'm missing or..? As far as I see it's only via devilmons or via feeding the same monster, which doesn't happen very often. Also - if a monster has 3 skills, can I pick which one gets skilled up?
and 1 thing about Ifrit -- I actually had the needed lizardman that's not farmable, but fed him away.. ^_^'
EDIT: Lol, I must be lucky. did 1 unknown summon and got a wind griffon ***
- When you open US, feed the 1* to the 2*. Then you can further level up 2*, and keep evolving/leveling them to use as fodder as well, you don't have to just use rainbowmon.
- Yea Bella is tough to get, it took me a few weeks of trying. But keep at it, just takes some patience.
- Don't bother with Dagora (Water Warbear). Ramagos (Wind Warbear) is pretty much the exact same thing (slow farmer, low rune requirements), except you farm Aiden instead of Faimon. Aiden is more efficient than Faimon, and farming Aiden with Ramagos is not considerably harder than farming Faimon with Dagora. Also, Ramagos is useful in other areas of the game, Dagora is not.
- Is your Tyron at 5*? I wouldn't expect to farm Faimon normal until you can get him to lvl 35 and equipped with a decent set of runes (completing certain scenarios awards with you nice rune sets). The difference between 4* and 5* is pretty significant, around 35%? You can check http://summonerswar.wikia.com/wiki/Sylph_(Water)_-_Tyron for detailed stats. Awakening him is tough I know, so I wouldn't prioritize it. That's why I really like using Ramagos early on - since he's only a natural 2*, he's extremely easy to awaken, skill up, and rune. Prior to Faimon normal, you can farm things like Garen Hell (for energy runes in addition to exp), Mt Siz Hell (for swift runes in addition to exp), and Tamor Normal (for Bernard in addition to exp).
- Raoq is only a god of farming if you have insane runes, which obviously new players will not have. He's one of the biggest newb traps in the game. If you get him to 5* max with the best scenario runes then he still won't be able to do anything more than Faimon Normal.
- Can't say much about your runes unless I can see specifics. You can create a swarfarm to manage and show your monsters/runes to others. There's also SWParser which lets you automatically upload your monster and rune info to swarfarm. In general though since like I said early game is about support monsters, you want to find good Swift and Energy runes with stats in HP, SPD, and ACC.
- Accuracy refers to effect accuracy. Many skills have effects other than damage (i.e. debuffs), and the chance of those effects landing on enemies is what accuracy affects. Resistance is the chance to resist those other effects. To determine whether or not the extra effects land, there are 2 steps: I'll use your Tyron's second skill (Cyclone) as an example.
Cyclone attacks twice and each attack has a 40% chance of landing a Glancing Hit debuff. The first step is simply the activation rate, which is 40% per attack. If you skill him up, you can increase this activation rate to 50% per attack (this is the "Harmful Effect rate +10%" for lvl 4 of this skill). Some skills have 100% activation rate, such as his 3rd skill (Hailstorm).
Now if a skill passes the activation check, then the 2nd step is where accuracy and enemy resistance comes into play. The chance of an enemy resisting an effect is their RES minus your ACC. So if the enemy has 100 resist and you have 0 accuracy, then you will never land any effects. However, it doesn't work the other way around, as everyone always has a default 15% chance to resist regardless of how much accuracy you have. So if you have 100 ACC and enemy has 0 RES, you'll still only have an 85% chance of landing the effect, not 100%. Essentially, this means that there is a soft cap of 85 ACC as anything over that is useless (RES is hard capped at 100).
Accuracy is definitely an important stat on any monster that has debuffs. To give you an idea of how much accuracy you need, the Giant in GB10 has around 60 RES, so when you're making your giants team, you want to shoot for 45 ACC on your support monsters.
- You're still really early on in the game, I understand that if your regular team can't be Faimon normal then Tyron shouldn't be able to solo it. That will come with higher level/evolution, and better runes. Optimally when Tyron is used as a farmer later on, you will equip other rune sets on him such as Despair (chance to stun enemies) or Vampire (life steal), which definitely helps him to solo. For now you can farm earlier stages that I mentioned above.
- You're right, skilling up is just feeding the same monster (can be any element in the family though - so to skill up water sylph, you can use any fire/water/wind/light/dark sylph). Obviously for nat 4's and nat 5's like the sylphs, this is going to be extremely rare so you'll end up using devilmons. But for nat 2's and nat 3's, those are much easier to come by so you'll be able to skill up via dupes. You cannot pick which skill gets skilled up, its random.
tyron is at 4* currently but I can get him to 5* if I really wanted to. Currently my runes on him are : + Show Spoiler +
1) 4star swift rune 2) +12 4 star blade rune with +atk% 3) 3star Blade rune 4) +6 3 star Swift rune with +critrate% 5) 4star Swift rune 6) crappy 3star swift rune
Note : I do have a despair + focus combo set available, but the runes are not too great, so I chose to go with swift+blade for now to get some speed and damage in there. Btw, does despair rune's 25% stun rate count towards every attack it does? I was under the impression that it would just improve the % of the freeze effect succeeding, but now after your explanation i see that Accuracy is what does it ^_^
I'm not sure how much I want to farm the hell difficulties for runes because they seem to be just 3-4 stars, while I can get better ones from golem dungeons D: plus I can get rainbowmons from there quite often as for exp though - sure, though I don't really have that much stuff that needs exp at this point, I guess i need to spam more unknown scrolls, which also drop quite often in golems.. About tyron and swift/energy runes with HP SPD and ACC; what about damage though? How well can he farm if he doesn't have any damage or crit? :/
Oh hey, a SW thread! I've been playing for a few months and am at the auto-all-b7's level currently. Biggest achievements were getting both Vero and Theo before level 40. :D
@abuse: Bernard (wind griff) has a fantastic speed buff and ATB booster on a low cooldown as his third skill, and speed is KING. In pve you'll be taking two or three TIMES as many turns between each boss attack cycle, and in pvp you will be able to get your entire team to move before theirs, often winning outright.
Heh I may be getting too far ahead of myself. If you've only been playing for a few days you should definitely not be expecting to farm Faimon with anyone yet. You gotta have decent % runes in the 2/4/6 slots, and they all should be at least +9 if not +12 for the 2/4/6 slots. After you complete some of the later scenarios you'll get nice 4* and 5* rune sets that you can use. For now you should definitely work on getting other monsters (Shannon, Bernard, Bella, Kona) and leveling those and Tyron up (5* lvl 35).
When I say farm hell scenarios for runes, I mean only if you can solo it, so you can farm for exp and runes at the same time. Even if it's white, a 4* HP% rune or a slot 2 SPD rune could be helpful for awhile. Farming scenarios for runes also allows you to choose for what specific rune set and slot you can get, which is great for filling in missing pieces. It's true giants can potentially get you better runes, but you could also get lots of useless runes, and you get practically no exp.
I don't understand what you mean by you don't have stuff that needs exp at this point... unless your entire team is 6* lvl 40 you always need more exp. From an efficiency standpoint, I strong advise against farming giants before at least GB8 (and optimally, not until GB10). It's just not worth it for the energy. US is generally just fodder/exp, and you get a lot more fodder/exp farming scenarios. Of course I understand endlessly grinding is boring, and giants actually drops a variety of things so if it's fun for you I'm not going to fault you for continuing to farm it :p
Faimon normal mobs have very little HP. You don't need much damage at all to farm it.
Despair stun works on every skill you have, even those with no effects. Like your Tyron's first skill with despair will still have a 25% chance to proc. Multiple hits on 1 skill however does not stack and increase your chance of landing despair stun. For example, even though your skill 2 hits twice, it still only counts as a 25% chance overall to land the stun. It does hit all enemies though, so you do have a chance to stun all enemies with despair. Stuns and Tyron's 3rd skill (Freeze) are actually 2 different effects that are very similar.
Bernard (Wind Griffon) is very good because his 3rd skill increases the attack bar of your entire team, as well as provides a significant speed buff. Speed is probably the most important stat in the game, it simply just gives you more turns. Also, his second skill is great too - it lowers enemies attack and defense, which means they do less damage and you do more damage to them.
why do some monsters have their star count shown in gold color while others have it in silver? also - does it matter which slot do I put what monster in? Like support monsters should go in the top right corner of the formation and tanks should go in the middle or whatever?
Do I need bella if I have the blue battle mammoth? What about if I have wind epikion priest?
- Gold star means the monster has an awakening. Silver means it does not (i.e. it's fodder/food). It can still be evolved though.
- In general, it does not matter what slot you put monsters in. There are a few exceptions though, but I wouldn't worry about them (for example, if you have more than 1 dead monster when you use a revive skill on auto, it will always revive the first monster in order).
- Talc (Water Battle Mammoth) is an excellent monster, but is not a replacement for Bella. Bella is easily a top 3 most useful monster in the game and you will use him everywhere no matter what else you have. I actually use both Bella and Talc simultaneously on many of my teams.
- The main use for Michelle (Wind Epikion Priest) is her revive. Her heal is rather weak. She can be useful in some areas but I would not invest into her for now.
I was surprised that you mentioned going straight to B10's after getting Vero. Maybe it's because I got him early, but for me he was the key to just getting B7's. I've been stuck there for a looooong time, but I think it's because I've been trying to work on too many things at once. Levels/awakens/runes for a bunch of cool utility 4*s I've picked up, finishing Kat fusion, etc. I think I really just need to work on my core 5-8 monsters. Heck, I still don't even have a single 6*, and I've been lv40 for a few weeks now.
(I mean, I can't even do Raid1 or ToaN50 yet. Raviti, delphoi, and Mav can wait!)
Getting a few key monsters to 6* is really important. I made 3 6*'s (Vero, Bella, Shannon) before I started doing any giants farming, and it was why I was able to go straight to GB10. You will be using monsters like Vero and Bella in almost all other areas of the game so it only makes sense to 6* them asap.
Working on a core group of 5-8 monsters is indeed the best way to progress, I literally did all of GB10, DB10, and ToAN 100 with only 7 monsters (Vero, Bella, Bernard, Shannon, Kona, Baretta, Ahman/Talc).
welp, did some things I'm not proud of and now have awakened sylph to tyron and upgraded him to 5 stars. His damage is quite nice now. Got Wind Griffon to 4 stars, though I'm still missing hp% runes. Also got my water mammoth to 4 stars. He is an absolutely INSANE tank indeed, very glad that I listened to you and not fed him away.. :D Griffon has been lovely too, enjoying his help quite a bit.
Today farming fire magic dgn, trying to awaken Raoq. The dungeon keeps dropping me cakes, summon scrolls and summoning stones though Hell, I even found a secret dungeon..
by the way, i got a premium pack. Nothing special dropped though, but I did get a fire joker and a few other monsters from the fusion pic you showed me.
Once I awaken Raoq, I'm probably going to farm a bunch of hell dgns, as I have a lot of stuff that needs exp now (griffon, mammoth, tyron, and whatnot), I did do a few runs of golems and it's so hard to make myself not go in there, the runes are just SO MUCH BETTER than whatever hell decides to drop, it's like no contest (I don't think i've ever seen a non-white rune drop from scenarios, but golems keep dropping me hero's and legendaries)
I'm in relatively midgame in this game, you can add me under "Mehified" on the global server. I have a 6* Akhamamir on Vamp/Blade who can solo Aiden Hell if you need someone to help you progress. I suggest trying to find friends with decent rep monsters to help you out early, and definitely try to join a guild to start collecting ifrit pieces.
Clearing the scenario levels is honestly not a big deal. You can stop at faimon/aiden and just start to grind those stages until you have your first 6*. The game is dreadfully slow before your first giants b10 team and probably just needs an overhaul to be honest. Scenario levels only have green/white runes at best, it's not somewhere to farm for runes aside from very early on.
Giants b10 is a "solved" dungeon for most people. Veromos (L), Belladeon, Shannon, Bernard, +1. I managed to avoid 6* Shannon but it's not a bad idea honestly.
Just want to clarify that the monsters I mentioned (bernard, shannon, kona, bella) are not early game monsters, but rather monsters that are easily acquirable by everyone during the early game, but will be useful through the entire game.
Don't worry too much about having a set team for scenarios. A big part of the game is having specific/different teams for different PvE areas. It's ok to invest in any of the monsters I mentioned, and then you can mix and match different monsters for different scenarios. I wouldn't use Raoq though, he simply doesn't contribute that much other than damage, and you really can't get his damage to be that great without good runes. You only need 1 farmer, and Tyron covers that role (and Tyron is useful for other things too).
Speaking of runes, the majority of my runes early on came from the shop. I strongly suggest unlocking all the shop slots as soon as possible.
Just started playing since the TL forums are usually pretty good on suggestions!
Got the starters pack, I'm enjoying it so far. Can you tell what the awoken name is somewhere in program? I want to make sure I don't accidentally feed one of the good ones.
There's not an easy way to find the awoken name in game, you can go to "Collection" (lower right corner of Monster screen), find the unawokened monster, and in the top right corner of that monster's profile you can see the awakened form and name. It's much easier just to google it though.
General rules of thumb for what to keep: - keep anything that is a natural 4* or 5* - keep at least 1 of any light or dark monster that is not farmable (you can check the monster's wiki, and if it's only obtainable from Scroll of Light & Darkness and Temple of Wishes, then it's not farmable) - keep at least 1 of anything that's used in a fusion, especially the Dark Ifrit fusion (http://imgur.com/a/DVJSl) - keep at least 1 of any 3* monster that is not farmable - keep ALL of the following 3* monster families (any element), because one or more elements of that family is really useful and you'd want to skill it up:
I managed to pull some (i think) good stuff. I want to get some clarifications if they are really as good as I think and if I should bother with them, and if yes then for what purpose.
- Galleon (Water Pirate Captain) is indeed one of the best nat 4's in the game. However, he's primarily only good for PvP, and in late game dungeon speed runs. He's not very useful early game, so unfortunately I would just stick him in storage for a few months.
- Vigor (Water Werewolf) is kinda meh, some people use him but I would not bother. The Light and Dark Werewolfs are a bit more useful, so you could keep him to skill those up if you ever get them... but Werewolfs are also farmable so I guess I wouldn't bother either. Food.
- Fire Battle Armor... do you mean Fire Battle Mammoth, or Fire Living Armor? Fire Battle Mammoth is useless but is skill up material for Talc or Basalt (Water and Dark Battle Mammoths). Fire Living Armor is a fusion mat.
- Thrain (Dark Grim Reaper) is really useful for speeding up ToA Hard... so again it's something that again you'd want to stick in storage for a few months, but you probably will end up using eventually.
- Fire Magical Archer - feed the 2nd one.
- Mav (Wind Penguin Knight) - yes this is probably the most important monster for ToA Hard. Definitely keep, but you don't need him for awhile.
In terms of general progression here's what most people do. Of course you don't have to follow it exactly but to give you an idea:
I have 2 of them. one at 3star and one at 4star(awakened). Are they useless for me?
Is galleon really only good for PvP? as far as I see from google, he is supposed to be beastly for cairos dungeons D: it kind of makes sense since his 3rd skill is such a nice buff. Is that not the case?
Vigor also seems to have a good buff, and I read in google that he's basically a better wind griffin. Guess I won't bother with him if it's not the case.
do I feed wind epikion priest aswell? I have 2 of them too. should I feed both?
I don't think I can finish scenarios for a while yet, haha. I progress to ferun castle now though.
No luck getting shannon.. Currently working on getting more stars on water garuda. I awoke him earlier today.
what runes do you recommend for early game? I currently have him on full energy runes so he doesn't die as he's just 2 stars atm.
P.S. I don't have a storage yet.. lol. Too short on mana crystals to build it and I don't think i can even make it because i'm not high enough level yet
Keep your 4 star awakened fire living armor for the dark ifrit fusion, the other one is up to you. Fire living armor is skill up food for Wind living armor (Copper, pretty good PvP monster). I personally kept all my living armors, but if you're short on storage space you can feed away for now.
Galleon is good for Cairos Dungeons, but only when you already have established teams and awesome runes and are just trying to speed up your runs. When you are just trying to farm them for the first time, he is not useful because without 5 defensive support monsters you will not survive. Until you've farmed these dungeons for a few months (yes, months... I'm talking thousands of runs), you will not be able to replace your defensive/support monsters with more offensive/damage monsters like Galleon and still survive.
I don't know where you read that Vigor is a better Bernard because that's not true at all. Vigor isn't bad, but Bernard is going to be overall much more useful because in addition to his speed buff skill, he also has an essential attack debuff skill (among other things).
Don't feed any epikion priests. I would keep them to skill up either Rina (water) or Chloe (fire) that you may get down the road.
Don't worry about not getting shannon yet, she's a natural 2 star so you will get her eventually.
Pretty much all support monsters should be runed with anything that gives you a lot of HP and speed, with some accuracy. Since a lot of the rune sets (especially early game) simply just give you stats, it doesn't make a difference whether you use 3 energy sets with a lot of speed in the substats, or a swift/energy set with a lot of HP in the substats, or even broken sets with really good substats.
1)disturbs enemy's HP recovery 2)recovers 15% hp for all allies and increases their atk spd 3)decreases enemy's defense for 3 turns
I'd say that's a crapton of utility, especially considering his atk is way better than griffon's. no?
About ifrit -- do all the monsters that are to be used to fuse into ifrit need to be awakened? :O
also- is it normal that griffon and all the other support monsters do like literally 0 damage?
I just somehow managed to win an arena match vs a lvl34 guy with a team full of 5stars.. D: I just attacked to get the 1 glory point but ended up winning with raoq, talc, griffon and tyron.. wtf is this.
Early game is going to be focused on your Giants B10 team. Vigor's second skill (heal and speed buff) is indeed very good. But his first skill, heal block debuff, is useless because the Giant does not heal. Also his 3rd is useless, because the majority of your damage will come from continuous damage effects from Veromos' first skill, and none of your monsters will be doing significant damage anyway to make use of a def break. Besides, both Bernard and Bella have def breaks.
Bernard on the other hand has an extremely important attack debuff which is critical for increasing your chances at surviving Giants. If you use Vigor then you will have to find an attack debuff from somewhere else. On top of that, Bernard is wind, and Giants B10 is water, so you'll have elemental advantage with Bernard.
A giants B10 team can also easily do B10 of all the other elemental halls, can do Dragons B8, and can make good progress into ToA.
My goal in this game is always to complete the most content with the least investment into my monsters/teams. The skillsets of Veromos, Bella, Bernard, and Shannon just cover so much between them with little overlap, no other combination of 4 monsters are 1) as easy to acquire and 2) cover as much utility.
Yes, unfortunately all monsters for fusion need to be awakened. For 4* fusions they all need to be 4* lvl 30, and for 5* fusions they all need to be 5* lvl 35. It's a long grind.
guess you're right. It's just such a long way ahead haha. And I'm a bit sad that there's no real way for me to get awakening mats at a decent pace (especially the HIGH difficulty ones).. It's like.. I either have a team ready for B10 or i just have to stick to B4 which I'm doing now. No middle ground..
Another thing - i just realized i can just feed both magical archers because i already have a joker anyway..
Do all the monsters that fuse into ifrit's pieces also have to be awakened? (serpent, bearman, beast hunter, etc?) because if so then it's not only a long grind, it's an impossible one, because i have 0 access to HIGH difficulty elemental thingies..
It's normal for support monsters to do no damage. It's just how PvE scaling in this game (and many others) work. Enemies have relatively absurd amounts of HP to create "difficulty," and dungeons have multiple floors in a row so the best strategy is going to be to a defensive one, where you apply buffs/debuffs constantly, heal up, and slowly win. If you invest in damage you'll simply run out of steam before getting to the end. As you get better and better runes you will be able to slowly incorporate damage into your teams to start speeding up those runs, but that's pretty far away.
Also to combat the high HP enemies, your greatest source of damage against bosses is going to be dots (continuous damage debuff), which takes off 5% of enemies max HP per turn. This is one of the reasons why Veromos is so important, his first skill has dots.
Also like in many other games, there's really no point in investing in PvP during the early game. You should definitely use up all your arena wings for glory points, but that's pretty much it - you should just be farming glory points and not aiming to get a higher rank. To that effect, most people generally recommend not setting a real defense (i.e. just set 1 fodder monster as your defense), so that people will attack you and drop your rating so that you'll be matched up with easier players. Usually you'll find other players who also set similar fodder defenses, so you can revenge each other throughout the day and easily farm glory points.
The essence issue is another reason why I recommend monsters like shannon, kona, bernard, and bella - they are nat 2/3 so they are relatively very easy to awaken. Once you get these key monsters up to 5* lvl 35 you should be able to farm B6/B7 of elemental halls, which will start dropping highs at a decent rate, which you will need to complete veromos fusion.
Getting your core team of those support monsters up to 5* should be your initial goal, before you go around trying to awaken everything. Fortunately farming for exp does not require anything special.
If we get enough people on TL playing then I'll definitely start a TL guild. I think you need a minimum of 10 people. For now, you can try to find a join a farming guild on reddit.com/r/swguilds.
If you just want to chat and hang out, we can start a LINE chat. LINE is the messaging app that most people use for this game, you (and anyone else) can add me, my ID is jxu9. If you'd rather have a discord chat or something then we can do that too.
I have discord, but I could use whatever. I'm still in the early game grind. (Just got to normal faimon which I think I need to wack over and over for a bit)
If you're thinking about it, DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. I played it for 6-8 months and I regret it entirely, fortunately I didn't waste any money like one of my friends did, who dropped $100, and got completely ripped off (he got a fake 5-star, an awakened 4-star monster).
The game is entirely grinding on top of grinding. I got my endgame team and then realized that all there is to do is grind some more, and that's when I started getting turned off by the game. The amount of ads they spam at you, the amount of "spend $30 on our game!" screens you are given, it's ridiculous. People are even aware that they rig their drop rates on good things during sales so they don't pay out often. That's why most people will tell you if you ever spend money(which you really really really shouldn't) or open a lot of scrolls, wait until after a big sale/event is over to open them.
Thing is the game could've been fun if they had made the PVP live instead of being you vs player-represented-by-AI.
This game is understandably not for everyone. But hey, I did mention directly in the OP the grindiness and P2W aspects of this game, so I'm not trying to hide it or anything.

Would love to see a source/evidence of that in this game (or any other popular game for that matter).

They actually are coming out with live PvP arena. They showed a live stream of it on a testing server so it's not just rumor either.
What I want most is an option to do "friendly battles" of some sort, even if they're not live or anything. I just want to be able to test myself against some defenses without having to put a bunch of guild or glory points on the line. For now it's more efficient for me to just have a weak farming defense and take easier battles, but that's no fun...
Basically, I just want more pvp! Guild battles are very short and far in between, and wings per day are quite limited, too.
Honestly I'd say I'm quite lucky with my scrolls so far. Pulled so many mobs that I would've had to farm for otherwise, aswell as several end-game characters, so future doesn't look too bad ^_^
I'd sign up for discord or line, whatever, I'm all for us starting something.
I also started another account on my tablet, but I'm going to be making that one completely F2P, see how it goes aswell.
Btw I'd love to see some adds from you guys, let's get together and help out each other with leaders at least. My ID is KyouLV on the Global server. So far I can offer an almost-max-levelled-and-5-starred Tyron.
Still have questions - what's the best way to get lots of mana? So far I'm trying to farm scenarios and selling the runes that pop up but .. ugh. I keep getting dragged down by it because my mana is always so low that I can't really do lots of stuff that I want to do Another thing - I can farm faimon 1 on normal pretty easily now but that gives like 1500 exp per mob with a boost; If I farm faimon 1 hard mode, then i can't beat it, as I die on the last wave in farm mode, BUT even when I die, my mobs get ~2300 exp each. Which is the better idea to do?
And the thing I'd want to see from the game most of all is battle replays. I want to see how people lose to my defense or beat it, and I want to see some replays of how my offensive battles went. :X
read pretty much everything that rvsp said in the first page, that was very very helpful to me at least. I'm not really the best at giving advice currently as I myself started just some 4-5 days ago.
We'll see which one takes off. I personally like Discord better, but 90% of guilds in this game use LINE so there's that if people are used to it.
My ID is jx297 on Global, feel free to add me. I'll update and add to the OP.
It's hard to get lots of mana in the beginning (what you're doing is unfortunately already the best you can do at your point, farming scenarios and selling the runes), so the best way to get mana is to spend it wisely. Don't work on and rune too many monsters (you really only need 6 or so). Only upgrade decent 3* and 4* runes to +9, I wouldn't even bother upgrading 1* and 2* runes at all, you can +3 them if you need to use them as a filler for the time being.
Don't farm anything that gives you less than a ~90% success rate. You should keep doing normal, the drop at completion is a significant part of the gains from that run, whether it's mana from selling the rune, or fodder. You can even get 3* fodder (including fire inugami's, which you should save to skill up bella after you get him) as drops.
Yea battle replays is a highly requested feature but no word on it yet. Would be really cool. For now you can check youtube videos if you really want to see PvP in action. Again I wouldn't worry too much about arena yet, even at low levels you'll get matched up against lvl 40's with strong teams and there's nothing you can do to really progress.
For help and guides starting the game, I strongly recommend checking out the stickies and guides over at reddit.com/r/summonerswar. The blurb I wrote on the first page isn't really meant for a 1 or 2 day beginner, it's more for people who understand the basics but need some overall direction during the first few months of play.
I've actually now started farming hard with 100% success rate so there's that.. :D well, at least for now since the mobs i'm levelling are actually my main team. I just got shannon aswell, so working on levelling and starring her. Bernard is at 5 stars, and kona is at 4 atm.
All that's left now is bella.. :x ughh..
By the way I just pulled a 4star jack-o-lantern (wind) is he any good at all?
Glad to see you joining us! Feel free to add us in-game and join in to our chat thingies (in the spoiler in the OP post). As well as if you have any question we'll do what we can to help~
i tried searching for this in the subreddit but cant find much information, as my 3 stars reach max level (fairy etc.) is it worth evolving them? or should i just save them up?
Well, you can evo fairy for now if you want but you will end up feeding her at some point. You can feed her as a 3 star to make a 4 star or feed her as a 4star to make a 5 star, both of which youll be doi g at some point. I looked over your current monster box and honestly you need some monster that is worth investing heavily in, but you dont really have one yet.
Check the shop often and your unknown scrolls, and try to get the wind pixie and the water garuda. Also, run hymeni desert as much as you can to try and get wind griffon, and do faimon for fire inugami as he can be your main dps until you roll something more phenomenal.
It costs more mana to feed to a summon with more stars, so you shouldn't be feeding anything directly to your 4* for exp. Instead, you should be leveling anything 2* or higher in scenario dungeons. Also, 2*'s and 3*'s are a lot more valuable to use as level 1 evolution fodders, rather than as food to feed to someone else just for their exp.
- 1*'s - Feed to either other 1*'s or 2*'s. - 2*'s - Although in general it's safe to use all 2*'s as fodder, there are a few you'd want to keep an eye out for, because they're actually really good: Wind Pixie, Water Garuda, and Wind Warbear. That also means you should be saving any element Pixie, Garuda, and Warbear as well, since they can be used as skill ups. - 3*'s - Now there are ton of useful 3*'s so you should be careful with what you throw away here, feel free to ask here or on discord whether or not specific ones are useful. A lot of these aren't farmable either so it can be particularly difficult to get some nat 3*'s.
Nice rsvp! i was thinking of making a thread for this game around when i started, awesome game! I just started maybe 2 months ago ill post my top mons here:
Just getting to the point now where im starting to focus on 6* my monsters. I chose Tyron first which might not have been my best choice but shes a decent farmer, cant decide who will be my next 6*, possibly orochi or soha (for more faimon hell farming) I have spent a few bucks on this game (more than I should have) and still havn't found any nat 5, but I like how the game is still very much playable if you are F2P.
I haven't read this entire thread, any higher level guilds with TLers in it? I was thinking of waiting til i hit lvl 40 (im 10% into lvl 39 now so not too long) but I'd be down for a guild that involves some awesome people.
Anyways i'll be frequenting this thread because im pretty addicted to this game. How is everyones HoH going? I got Aria first day, not gunna farm more as i got too bored lol. Im at 70 cakes for the even too, ran out of time doing other farming
so happy theres a thread for this now lol
EDIT: I saw the spoiler in the OP now lol, my ID is NeverExpo and my rep is lvl 40 tyron
Awesome, I knew there must be plenty of SW players hiding out there on TL lol
There's not a TL guild yet but if we get the minimum (10 people) I can start one. In the meantime, you should really join a random guild to start collecting guild points, weekly rainbowmons and ifrit pieces will help your progression. It's easy to quit and join another guild at anytime. Look for guilds on reddit.com/r/swguilds
If I were you I would start working on the Veromos (Dark Ifrit) fusion... it's a huge grind but well worth it as Veromos is a game changer and you'll use him everywhere. Once you get him you should also 6* him asap. Other than him, Bella is another monster worthy of being your one of your first 6*'s, as he's used everywhere as well.
For HoH I went with Aria and only farmed enough for 1, I don't think she's that great anymore since there are tons of other options for ToA now (i.e. taoists). I did a lot of exp farming this week so it helped me get a bunch of cakes, got to 100 a few days ago.
Good to know TL's always one step ahead of me when I pick up new games, I came across this last week and it's pretty safe to say I'm hooked. Got wind warbear and wind pixie pretty early on and got them to 4* lvl 30, just working on fodder and farming for the wind griffon while I wait for Thursday to swing around to awaken them.
One problem I'm running into is that my collection is almost all wind/water, which is problematic in Vrofagus with its Fire/Wind mix. What fire monsters should I keep an eye out for?
I'll jump in on the ID train too. My ID is Rogglific and my rep is currently lvl 30 Teon.

Unfortunately, no. Your best bet is to hang out in a public channel, waiting for someone to get the SD, and immediately trying to add them as a friend. GL on the bella hunt today!

You don't really have to have monsters of each element early on, I personally didn't use any fire monsters until way past level 40. Getting through the scenarios is a really small part of the game that it's not worth investing in a specific monsters just to get past it. If you're stuck, level up/evolve your monsters in earlier scenarios, or use stronger friend reps to help.
If you really want a fire monster though, the best and most easily acquirable monster at that stage is Colleen (Fire Harpu). She's actually a top tier monster for Raids and Necro (late game dungeons), so investing in her early game will never really be a waste.
Rsvp you have motivated me to work on vero I already have light vamp and water undine, working on succ and gunna have to wait until dark day for yeti. I think the most difficult part will be awakening these guys, I can only farm b7 comfortably on all essence dungeons. If I'm really committed I might be able to fuse in one week.
Yea the essence farming for vero is definitely the hardest part. Luckily there's 2 events that should help - free unlimited energy hours this weekend (consider even farming B4 just because it's faster), and then potentially a double essence event next weekend (speculated, not confirmed yet).

Isn't there an all dungeon event coming up too? Upon further review I feel like a week might be a little optimistic lol, might be closer to two but I'll still try.
Yea every last weekend of each month all the elemental dungeons are open at the same time. It's a cool convenience thing, especially great for newer players, but doesn't really save you on any energy/time.
I'm pretty annoyed I think I've gotten rid of 10+ fire beast masters and now I realized I need it for vero :s any way to farm him other than scrolls? :s

nope! welcome to the club, I've fed away 2 of them aswell, and now I don't have any.. :D
I would never bother with trying to farm a specific SD myself, the odds are way too low. Just stick around in public channels and friend someone else who gets it, it takes some patience but its far easier and cost effective.
There's another event starting tomorrow, here's a tip: at least for global server, events start at 12 midnight PST but they refresh at 8 AM PST. So in effect, the first "day" of the event only lasts 8 hours. A lot of events (including this one) have daily check-ins/objectives, so if possible see what you can during those first 8 hours to maximize the rewards you get from the event.
Grabbed a premium pack with some saved-up crystals just now for the EXPRESS PURPOSE of just having some easy 3* fodder, as I'm finally working on making some six stars.
Wow, nice. I grabbed a pack yesterday as well. Highlights were Julie, Michelle, and Rebecca. Rest of the 3* ones seemed pretty underwhelming when I looked them up and/or are farmable.
Also broke through to Faimon normal once I improved Lapis's runes. Not sure now whether I should 5* her or Ramagos first.
Julie can be a decent water damage dealer later on. Michelle can be used as reviver, but she is one of the weaker ones and people typically only use her as food to skill up her sisters. Rebecca isn't too useful either, she's also just mostly food for her sister Megan.
For deciding Lapis vs Ramagos:
- Do you often run out of energy and still have time/want to keep farming? - Does your schedule allow you to check your phone constantly throughout the day? - Are you a min/maxer that wants to get the most out of every energy you spend? > then go with Ramagos
- Do you just want to sit down for short periods of time, actively play and quickly blow through your energy, then forget about the game for a few hours/rest of the day? - Do you value your time greatly, and/or are willing to spend some money to get things done? - Do you not really care about optimizing everything? > then go with Lapis

So then I guess the highlight was Julie, rest meh.

Yeah, the schedule's where I'm having a hard time deciding, because during the week I really only have a couple times a day where I can sit down and play so Lapis would make more sense to quickly run out my energy during those times, but on the weekends I have more time and like to play more, so Ramagos would be more efficient there. I think maybe I'll go Ramagos first since I'll awaken him Thursday, then use him to farm up awakening mats for Lapis while I work to 5* her
Hey guys, I think I will start a TL guild this Sunday. We currently have about 8 people who have posted in this thread and are playing, but we need at least 10 members in order to participate in guild battles (which is the whole point of guilds). So help spread the word, get your friends to start playing! There aren't any requirements at all to joining.
For those of you currently in a guild, you should leave on Sunday. right after they give out the week's rewards at the end of Saturday. There will be a 12 hour period after leaving a guild where you cannot join a new one, but as long as you join up by the end of Sunday night then you'll be good to go.
Any suggestions for a guild name? Not sure if we can/should use TL since TL is a pro team now.. (damn I'm old)
I'm down for this havnt been in a guild in a long time lol, I left my newbie guild pretty soon after joining, I'm sitting at 50/100 ifrit pieces. I think we can use liquid or tl I'm sure it wouldn't matter lol, that way we could possibly attract other liquidians! I will try to volunteer my time and limited social skills to get more members
Edit: we should also chose a channel to hang out in!
Didn't realize this game had grown to the point we'd have TL people play it.
My short contribution to this. For a farming monster, I initially went with Ramagos, partially due to having a few 6 star energy runes drop with %HP. The nice thing about Ramagos is you can even use him in some PvP by having him soak the damage from fire nukers (of which there are plenty) and the counter-attacking with a huge nuke, can often destroy even tanky teams if done right.
Now for some long run tips.
1st Don't spend all your mana all at once What I personally did was learn to discipline myself to only attempt 3 rune level ups per day. This way you save a good chunk of mana which you can later use on on power stone events or when you get the really juicy 6 star runes. You can also use the saved up mana to buy mystic scrolls and better runes once they appear in the shop.
2nd Save up your crystals Early game you'll save up crystals until you have 750 to buy the pack with 11 scrolls, mana and angelmoons, do this until you have a good pool of monsters to work with. Mid to late game you'll save these up to do energy refills and buy XP boosters and you'll need tons of XP to level up mobs or tons of mats to awaken.
3rd Pick a dummy arena defense Like a 1 star level 1 monster. The reason for this is, you won't have the monsters or runes to do arena vs some of the stronger teams out there, and this will allow you to farm up arena points by killing people while not advancing you too far. I also recommend you focus on clearing a entire page of enemies so you can get the extra 2 arena invitations and more points.
4th Invest into devilmoons and buildings early This'll be a pain early but will pay dividents later. The first buildings you want to max are your energy regen > energy storage > mana regen > mana storage buildings. This'll give you the sustain to farm for a while. Next up you'll want to invest into your speed building, level that 5 then focus on HP, Def and attack% buildings to 5 and then go back to energy. This'll keep your power levels increasing at a good rate.
5th Save your reward energy Just like with all other sources of resources you'll want to make the most of these, save them up for a big event or a XP booster and get the most bang for your buck.
6th Join a guild and war! Guilds are the best source of 4 star rainbowmoons which will be critical in your evolution of mobs, they also provide access to some monsters needed for fusion as well as a natural 5 star, in the Ifrits.
Your goals for this game should be, in the following order. 6 star and level to 40 a farmer > 6 Star a team of monsters that can do Giants B10 > Clear TOA Normal 100 or go as deep as possible > Clear Dragons B10 > Start investing more heavily in PvP > Clear Necro 10 > Clear Raid Tier 5 > Clear ToA Hard 100 > Go all out on PvP.
For Giants, to get them on farm status the best comp I've found to work early was Vero (L), Bernard, Shannon, Bella, Ahman. This works because your main source of damage will come from DoTs and Vero provides enough of that, your double healer comp heals any damage back up and your double support mitigate all the damage. You can substitute Ahman with another healer that may drop for you like Chasun or another support like Briand, or even another DPS like Orochi or Sigmarus later on, but the safest is to start with 2 healers, 2 support and Vero.
That should be enough to get you guys started, good luck and have fun!
I'm definitely in for the guild thing. I recommend the name Teamliquid community (if the game allows such a long name)
thereby we should still pop up if someone searches for "teamliquid" ; but we're not really taking the TL. Then again - Just doing "teamliquid" shouldn't be anything special cause SW doesn't have pro teams, lol.
Thanks for the offer, I already have a guild on EU with my friends though, I would love however to join a guild with more communication. Summoners is lacking in that regard and a forum helps a ton.
What is discord im at work right now with little time lol, is it voice chat or just chat room type thing? I'll Check it out later! I have all pieces for veromos just have to lvl and awaken lol
It's both - private servers/persistent chat rooms, with voice chat (not that we'd use voice chat for this game, but it's there). You can go offline and still get all messages that were sent when you log back in. It's basically an alternative to Skype or Teamspeak, and it's completely free with no ads. Best of all, there's nothing you have to download - just click the link and you can jump right in to using the browser version. There's mobile apps available for android and iOS as well.

So a lot of you have replied showing interest in the TL guild - that's great! If you haven't already done so, please shoot a quick reply here or drop in on our Discord chat to confirm that you will join our guild this Sunday. We need a minimum of 10 people in order to participate in guild battles, and if we can't get those 10 people, then there's really no point in having the guild. A lot of us are already in other guilds and we won't be willing to join a new one if we won't be able to do battles for guild points.
Again, there are no requirements at all to join, we will be a farming guild which means everyone will set weak defenses (such as a 1* level 1 monster), and we'll be matched up with mostly other similar farming guilds so even if you just started you'll still be able to win a lot of battles.

So I've been auto-farming most dungeons at the B7 level for aaages. I realized suddenly this week that I'm entirely capable of doing MOST of them on B10 with manual battle and with friend's reps... Lots of crystals and scrolls flowing in from first-clear rewards, this week.
I'm up for starting a guild whenever really. This guild does fight often but nobody ever talks (or it's just my timezones kicking in again) and we've only won 1 war during this entire week of fighting nonstop..
any chance you want to move to global? That's where most of us are, and starting a new account would be the best time ever atm, as so many of us are just starting out

Thanks, so it sounds like most people are starting out? For me I've complete scenario, can farm Giants B6 and B7 on the magic halls. Need 4 more monsters for Veromos - Dark Yet, Fire Beast Hunter, Fire Living Armor and Wind Minotauros.
So over all I'm pretty new too. Hopefully we all stick to this, I would really like to try the raids out sometime.
I'll join. I have never played the game nor in fact, installed it yet. However, if there's a TL guild to be a part of, you can count me in. Just give me the basic relevant details so I don't mess up, such as server name, etc.

Awesome! We're on the Global server. The guild won't be created until this Sunday, so at that time I'll post more details on how to join.

I'm same kinda level as you, 75% into lvl 39, have all pieces for vero just farming essences, farming Giants b7 and essence b7, drags and necro b6. Just recently finished my first successful raid but I only have 1 6* (Tyron). Very much looking forward to getting this guild off the ground, I have experience with organizing and recruiting so i don't think we'll have a problem

I have an EU account lvl 35. If I want to to play on Global at the TL guild do I have to start over? If yes is the other accout still existant or is the data deleted? I would not mind a fresh start. Noticing all the stuff I did wrong but since I got my first two nat 5* monster just weeks ago I would be a bit sad.

This is a great question, I'm not sue if your data gets deleted I'll do some research on that topic for you, you got 2 nat 5 by lvl 35 that's really insanely lucky haha. We would love to have u in our guild on global but it would be a shame if it meant U lost all that stuff. Let me see what I can find out for you
Unfortunately there is no way to transfer servers. You'd have to start over by creating a new account on Global. However, the other account on EU will still exist, and you can actually still play both at the same time if you want to.

Well there ya go, keep your eu account but join our guild on global too!
Ok, thanks you two :D I will try to get some level/monster today to be any help at all. Will take some time. I'll add the ones from the OP a bit later today/tonight. Probably won't use that Discord, not a fan of voicechats since WoW hope that is ok.
We don't use the voice chat part of discord, just the regular chat part. The in game chat sucks and there's no PMs either so otherwise there's no way to communicate with everyone. I really like Discord because it's free/no ads, easy to use (no d/l or installing anything), and a synced mobile app is available. I'm not going to force anyone to use it but if you have any particular alternatives in mind then let me know!
I recently started this. how do i see what server i am on? got a load of monsters but no idea if any of them are useful. is there a list where the 2,3,4 star are all ranked against each other? only found ones where they are separated here is what i have. any of them good? or what would u level? https://swarfarm.com/profile/wtvar/ mei (fire martial cat evolved) 4* sky dancer fire 4* assassin water 4* epikon priest wind 3* magical archer fire 3* elven ranger light 3* bunch of 3* but all the lists say they are just food (f.e. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Zhikm2Kix1tBNPLV6XuWrYyUkM5z9KRGUuwgQfrVpQw/edit#gid=618751162)
You can see what server you are in Account Settings - tap your name/profile on the top left corner of the screen to see.
For what monsters to work on at the start of the game, check the long post I made on the first page of this thread. There's not really any good ranking list, feel free to ask here or on discord about specifics on what you should keep or feed. Water Assassin and Fire Sky Dancer aren't too great at first, but are useful for certain areas later on.
Anyone plays on asia server? I been playing for 1 year now and got like 20 6star including theomars, chasun etc. I only have 1 nat5 summon tho which is charlotte (wind occult girl).

Hi artunit I remember u from bw seems like most of us playing in global at the moment, you can make a new account on global and join us if you want it's possible to keep your Asian server account while doing that
I should have mentioned this earlier but after joining the guild, you also need to set up a defense. Go to Guild battle > Defense on the bottom menu, and set 1 monster on each of the 2 defense teams.

We've hard really good participation this week (first week hype!). So we'll hold the fort down while you get your wifi sorted out.

Tomorrow's Sunday, so I can register more people for guild war that weren't included this week since they joined mid week. Hop onto discord if you're interested, there's no requirements to participate and you don't want to miss out on the rainbowmons and ifrit pieces!
Switched out a lot of runes on free removal day. Most of my major mons (Vero, Amir, Theo, Bella, Eladriel) got an upgrade, switched Mav to violent (beat ToA 90 with him), runed Colleen (my next planned 6*). Also attempted to make a crit dmg Woosa, which is still testing, but should be okay for PvP.
Good day overall. Now I popped a exp boost, time to grind out my Colleen fodder. :D

Damn I'm jelly, I did 6 star my vero this weekend but unfortunately I don't have any xp boosters, during this whole dice event I've only got 1 xp booster using like 4 dice a day.
Fire assassin, seems to be a meh unit but the other version (especially water) seem to like skill ups. I guess I'll farm a few just in case I pull one down the line.
khm, I have a water assassin too. Not sure I'll ever really use her again though. Seemed kinda underwhelming. Granted - I do have shitty runes on her though
Stella is only used to speed run dungeons and raids in late game so yea this is a skippable HoH for most people. I still wouldn't fodder away any non-dupe nat 4's though no matter how useless they currently are.
I was really hoping for it to be Pierret or Horus (my Q needs skill-ups). But oh well. I believe next month should be a light monster. I don't care even if it's a sucky one since those things are rare and I'm a collector lol.
HoH rarely provides good monsters itself but usually does provide skill ups for a good monster. The last 4 (not counting anniversary HoH) HoH were skill ups for a top tier monster (conrad -> briand/dias/fedora, tilasha -> delphoi, olivia -> lisa/emma, rigel -> fuco/grego). None of the assassins are that great, stella has niche uses at best.
I'm working on necro too now, going to see if I can keep Adrian at 5* though at first.
is delphoi really that good? I have her on my alt (like level 15 or something) but she seems pretty meh compared to the fire undine for example then again her 3rd skill is pretty sweet for cairos, but her AI is so stupid
She's more of a late game monster, excellent in raids and PvP, where cleanse and immunity are highly valued. Her 2nd skill makes her a great counter to Theo and Perna. One of the strongest/most easily accessible GW comps in the game is Delphoi/Talc/Copper.

... =D I have a delphoi on my alt and a talc+2 coppers on my main.
It involved using a level 35 Hwa, and Colleen, manually controlling a few dozen tries and then lucking my way into the kill. My final comp was Barreta (L), Veromos, Verdehile, Colleen and Hwa. This feels so awesome after playing the game for probably 1 year already and not spending a dime on it.

Gratz yo, having that verde really helps, something I havnt been able to grab yet. Now all you have to is move to global
Have Adrian and Colleen 6*'d now! Thinking about what to run in my last slot for necro. Currently have Bella/Colleen/Adrian/Fei. Thinking maybe water Lich, but he's not anywhere close to being developed.

You need a leader skill. Do you have a swarfarm so we can see your box?
I don't think anyone in my storage is worth building for necro
On second thought, a water mon probably won't synergize too well with colleen/adrian. Maybe zibrolta would be better with 2 other fire mons? Accuracy leader isn't great though
I do have all the materials for Fire Panda, which would be ideal probably, but I'm not actively pursuing the fusion right now. Having him, I could replace Bella and add zibrolta for more multi-hit.
I'm very surprised there aren't more tlers playing this, it's by far the best mobile game I've played. If you're worried about being new, don't be. We will welcome you in with open arms and teach you the ways of the summoner.
On a side note I've summoned Camilla, taor and Amir since last posting, my luck has surely come around

I agree, this game is a little bit like Diablo with the grind, but more time gated (due to F2P mechanics). So you end up with a fair amount of time to talk about loot and rng lol.
annnnnnnnd KillerSOS rolled a Verdehile. Seriously, to catch up to you guys in the luck department I'd need to roll all of the archangels and dragons in a single roll.

Anyone clear TOAH 56? Could use some comp advice if you used a nonstandard team
You mean the floor with 1 dark ww and 4 dark yetis ? Haha such a pain in the ass There's a trick to beat it, level up a light fairy she has an invincible shield and she will get targeted because she is light even if she's invincible. You may or may not need michelle to make the shield last longer.
I have Julie as well so should be a fun weekend xd Wonder what the second part of the 2-year anniversary event will be!
@RouaF: I reruned my Neal last FRR so gonna give it a go, need to speed tune it a little bit so she doesn't die before she gets her shield off though lol
Thanks I'll come by in a while, last exam on thursday, then leaving for new york for 10 days, so can't play supermuch. But in the meanwhile, should I just keep lvling up as many monsters as possible, to get my water knight to 5 star?
Atm I have
Using: - 4 star waterknight, lvl 26 - 4 star water faerie healer, lvl 6 (just upgraded to 4star) - 3 star level 25 light archer lady - 3 star lvl 22 wind grim reaper
Lvling: - 3 star fire hellhound lvl 15ish (upgraded to 3star) - 3 star wind vagabond at lvl 5 (upgraded to 3star) - 3 star light lvl 12 Garuda
^ you can feed the wind vagabond if ever you wish to 5 star the water knight.
but i think you should keep the fire hellhound as it will give you crit rate and damage when awakened.
the light garuda you should keep too.
just keep in mind that while the water knight is a good farmer, it is a pain to awaken especially during the early game. that is why in my case i used a wind warbear as a farmer and as my first 5 star because it is easier to awaken. but if you are lucky with awakening materials then by all means go with the water knight because you can farm faster with it.
New players progressing well, guild wars going good, discord active. Feel free to join in so we can make TL a well known guild in SW together! /end propaganda
Just started a weeks time ago, the game really is great, much deeper than one would think, and the TL clan is very nice and helpful, answering all my newbie questions, and will totally answer all of yours!
Welcome to the club!! Join us in discord and ask anything you want, we will do our best to help out with our "experience" and the high level member's actual experience :D
So I'm looking at my light garuda and his awakening skill seems pretty good. Guy is like level 20 atm. Got most of the awakening items ready.
But then I also want to level up the resurge skill (lowering the cooldown). So that makes me question a bunch of stuff: Can I level the resurge skill whenever I get another garuda to feed him, or just when evolving? Can I level the resurge skill after awakening? And if so, does it becomes much harder?
Skill-ups are rolled randomly each time you feed a skill-up monster, so you can't choose which skill to level each time. It can be done at any time though, whether awakened or not, even if at 6* max level. The only thing that often changes about awakened monsters (like it does for Teon) is that many gain a third skill which requires more skill-ups. If you want to focus one of the first two it can be more efficient to level them first and then awaken rather than the other way around.
That said, Teon's third skill is a little unreliable on auto. Since it's both a heal and a revive he has a tendency to blow the cooldown early for the heal, leaving you without a revive when you need it. It's really useful on manual for things like arena/guild wars/toa but not so much on auto for PvE.
Ban seems interesting, as well as unique mons per fight. Will mean kingpin mons (Galleon, Tiana, etc.) will have way less impact. For people with only a few mons though it'll be rough
Kinda hope they keep some form of AI PvP in the game, if nothing but to farm glory
When I first heard about this I automatically assumed it would be an additional PvP mode. It doesn't make a lot of sense to take away the static defense Arena, but we'll see...

Ya, it's got a surprising amount of depth for a mobile game. I think the Samurai (depending on the element) is going to carry you for a while btw.
Funny story - my MOM started playing and got the fire samurai fairly early on. After helping her rune him with her best fatal runes, he one-shot most of what she has come up against in the early game. Good pull!

i believe fairy leader is resist? resistance is basically prevention from debuffs being placed on you. So the higher your resist the lower the chances are of you getting attack or def debuff, or any other negative status. Its not TOO important in the early stages, obviously as you progress it gets immensely important and improves when you get better mons.

Thanks I will send a request~ (aerensianic). I am enjoying it so far definitely as a good change of pace from pad.
BTW, a little tip on leader skills. Sometimes it's not clear if it'll apply to the current area you're in. Leader skills in white do not apply to where you are, when it's in yellow/orange then it does apply.
Real time arena (real-time PvP) has been added to the game on a sort of testing basis! They have actually added an event to incentivize trying it out. At first glance it looks pretty cool, a bit slower paced but there's a draft/ban sequence at the start which kinda adds to it. Game is definitely taking forward strides.
I wonder if they will add some matchmaking for real time. Maybe similar to the pvp rating currently?
This Ran HoH has forced me to tinker with my comp a little bit. Swapped Theo for Amir to help soak damage on the Hwa stage, as well as switching Eladriel to Hp/hp/def instead of def/hp/def. There was a nice rune I could give him but seems like I just forgot about it during FRR. Oh well, just 50k mana

Hey guys, I need some advice from anyone doing Necro 10. So a few days ago I finished my Panda fusion and managed to 6 star both the Panda and Lanett. Now I'm having a hard time deciding on my last slot monster for Necro.
My choices are Fire Elven Ranger, Fire Kobold Bomber, Fire Kung Fu Girl, Wind Barbaric King, Wind Jack O-Lantern, Yen, maybe Emma, Wind Fairy King. https://swarfarm.com/profile/Destructinok/
Have you tried with Adrian yet? Is he fully skill Upped? Lots of people use him, but that might be because he's easier to get. Im not that far yet tho so just going off what I see/hear.
What are the other 2 members of your team right now? Even if you aren't in our guild/server you should still come hang out with us to chat! https://discord.gg/0xokWb1hqeRL6uZF
Hello, sorry for being vague on composition. Right now I'm running Panda (leader), Colleen, Lanett, Wayne.
I managed to clear Necro 10 using a friend's rep monster, but I'm undecided on what my last member should be. One small issue that has arisen so far is that, Lanett + Panda don't deal nearly enough damage to Wayne if he gets stolen, thats why I was considering a Wind monster.
Also, thank you for the offer, I shall check out discord once I get home.
From the monsters you listed, I would definitely choose Yen for your last slot. She does great damage, has multi hits, built in vio, and a S1 slow that is very important for necro. She also has a better leader skill, damage is preferred over defense - easier to release stolen monsters, and necro boss gets stronger over time so you don't want the battle to drag on.
Also, I don't like Wayne that much, you should consider replacing him with Adrian. Adrian is like Wayne except he does more damage, has more multi hits, has additional debuffs, buffs crit rate as well, and has elemental advantage. The only advantage Wayne has over Adrian is.... nothing.
You do have a point that Adrian has more multi-hit on 1st than Wayne, however Wayne has ignore def on 1st for when shield is down and has the potential to deal a ton more multi-hits than Adrian with a higher ATK multiplier on his 2nd skill.
I'll probably try Yen since she is the closest to maxing. Thanks for the advises, I'll post back once I have some results in.
Wayne was actually my 2nd 6* monster, back when I didn't know any better. Back then he didn't have multi-hit on his 1st skill nor def ignore, and I knew he wouldn't fit in a dungeon comp so I planned to use him as a niche Arena and GW nuker. I used him a ton for his leader skill in GW by pairing him with Copper.
I only got the idea to use him in Necro about 2-3 months ago since I figured his multi-hit would be really strong and he has a speed buff. I haven't used him anywhere else, but to be honest, he has had crap runes till now, so that's probably another reason why I ignored him.
I'll try him in some Arenas, GW again and tell you how he does once his runes are maxed.
Wayne has the potential to do more damage and multi hit more but Adrian will do more damage and multi hits on average. For example, accounting for Wayne's built in vio on S2, he'll average 2.9 hits a turn on S2 compared to Adrian's guaranteed 4 hits a turn. If you want to compare multipliers, that's a total of 700% for Wayne and 800% for Adrian. This isn't even factoring in Wayne's elemental disadvantage and Adrian's elemental advantage. Wayne's S2 does have shorter cooldown but I'd argue Adrian's S1 is better too - again, averaging more hits and more damage. Ignore def does not make a huge difference because the boss should be def broken most of the time.
That being said, I'm always a big fan of monsters being used in multiple places, so if you can make Wayne work in GW as well then it makes sense to not have to build an Adrian.

After the last patch I saw chatter on reddit about people pairing Susano and Wayne together in GWO. Not sure who they use in the 3rd slot, maybe Kona to resurge Susano?

3rd slot has to be galleon, def break is still required in order to do any reliable damage.
Second testing phase of Live Arena just came out today, which added matchmaking to PvP. It's actually really fun, I'm constantly impressed by the quality of this game and the constant stream of new features and updates. And there's still more to come with the new raids that were mentioned a month ago.
I've played a lot of mobile games and this is definitely the best I've seen. I'm surprised more people aren't playing!
New dev note, crafting + new rune sets + rebalanced dungeon drops + higher max level/energy
Yay! Thoughts?
The new rune sets are going to be craft only, and require rift materials... that means that these will probably be more mid/end-game focused sets. Any ideas on what they'll be?
If you want to join in and feed the addiction play the game, feel free to join up and post here and you'll be added to both the guild and the discord. Have very experienced members who can help with advice for all stages of the game. End goal is of course to become the #1 guild on the global server and take TL's name to maximum glory
You'll have to join the Global server to play with us. It shouldn't be an issue though, events are spread out to be friendly for most time zones, and we have EU players in our guild to keep you company while the Americans are sleeping :p
To start, you can look at post 3 in this thread. It's a pretty good idea of how to optimally approach the early game. Wind Pixie, Wind Gryphon, Water Garuda, Fire Harpu are some early, easily acquired monsters to look for. Light Inugami is found in "Secret Dungeons", which pop up from time to time in the elemental dungeons, at random. Most likely you'll need to ask around to get that dungeon. It's their way of promoting some interaction in the game.
Keep fusion monsters, as you want to work towards Veromos, the most important fusion in the game, and perhaps the others if you find the time/effort.
When you start summoning more monsters 3*+, feel free to ask us their viability. Chug through the story, and add some of our guild as friends, as we have developed friend rep monsters that can solo through a bunch of the scenario content. I'll add you now, and there are other names on the first post

Anyone got any good starter tips?
Several.
1st Don't spend all your mana on upgrading runes, I suggest 3 upgrades per day tops. 2nd Pool your crystals to regularly buy the 11 mystic scroll pack until you have a good number of 3 and 4 star monsters. 3rd Decide on a 3 or 4 star monster to be your dedicated farmer (a monster strong enough to clear a scenario map on his own, so you can carry fodder monsters to level up). 4th Pool your mana over time. 5th Only upgrade 1-3 star runes to level 6, 4 star runes to level 9, 5 star runes to level 12 and 6 star runes to level 15. 6th Spend your initial glory points on maxing your energy/mana regen and storage buildings, once maxed work on level 5 speed, atk% and crit damage% buildings till level 5 then again till level 10. 7th Participate in the regular events as they give strong rewards. 8th Pool the energy you get from events that provide you with lots of energy, there will usually be a event right afterwards that requires lots of farm/energy. 9th Regularly check the shop and use your stored mana to buy mystic scrolls, 5 and 6 star runes. 10th Be patient, it takes a long time to make any meaningful progress without forking up money upfront.
A priority of things to do should be. Get a strong group of 3 and 4 star monsters > Awaken and 5 star 4-5 of these reliable monsters > settle on a monster to be your farmer (a easy to get 2 star monster is Ramagos, the wind warbear) and 6 star him > Use your farmer to 6 star the rest of your monsters > Build a Giants B10 team > Build a ToAN team > Build a Dragons team > Build a Necro team > Build a Raid team > Build a unstoppable pool of Arena monsters.
And Smokey it is. Not a great monster, but not as garbage as some people would say. I've had one for a while too and will probably grab a couple for skill-ups just because.
On another note, our guild has merged with Kindred, so our members have dispersed into a few different guilds. However, if anyone is interested in playing and wants some advice, please feel free to join our discord (o:
Hey guys anyone still playing? I went MIA really hard after some stuff came up which was preventing me from putting much time into it but I'm back now and enjoying it again just checking for signs of life
