I can't aim for the life of me though lol Abuse of 3rd person camera and using sounds is so important. I think 1st person is better suited for this type of game, it doesn't seem right you should be able to see somebody over a wall you have no vision over or down stairs you're not even looking in the direction of. I guess it helps against pure camper playstyle though. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to 1st person in the future, it will definitely happen. I also think 3rd person is better for campers. With 1st person, campers will at least have to stick out their head to see someting, which allows you to shoot them 3rd person on the other hand really promotes the camping cancer, since they can camp and still see you through a window or over a wall without the risk of sticking out their heads. 1st person > 3rd person in every way I think. It just has to be done right, the 1st person mode available in custom games right now is not great. You can barely look over the gras and any small wall seems way too high.

The thing is, the movement is so... loose in this game (for lack of a better term) that it feels just terrible in first person. Especially some of the jumps required for some looting (hell even getting on top of shipping crates in georgopol/novo can be frustrating at times) 3rd person definitely has balance issues with campers and stuff like you say, but the game has really been built for the 3rd person model as-is.

Being able to "alt look" without your character turning (or at least their head moving) is a bit strong and unfair. At least make the head turn would be fine. When it comes to looking around corners/windows/etc, there's a few solutions, such as limiting the range you can set the camera at, or zooming it a bit when you are near edges/windows/etc. It wouldn't be super hard to code, bc it would pretty much have a trigger near trees/windows/doorways similar to a "cover" system in 3rd person FPS games. Make it so you "have" to enter "aiming mode" to look around the corner

Just knowing you can run past a wizard tower without somebody inside looking at you while being proned, will be so cool. If he wants to look at you he will have to show himself, so good .

You need a main character to care about and follow its story I think. Like in survival movies you usually have 1-2 main characters the story focuses on. Don't really see a reason to care for NBL_Boom when I see him for 20 seconds before they switch again. Actual people streaming their own gameplay seems more interesting. Maybe the team events will work better than the solo ones but I think I'll tune out.

Yeah I think the team events are a bit better only 25 groups to look at rather than 100 individuals

The observers are clearly still trying to find their marks, we're missing a lot of action on the map while we're being shown irrelevant stuff. There needs to be a good 5 or 6 obs for the early and midgame and a director that switches in between them, getting the best action on camera all the time. The scoring system is awful, the guy who won died to the blue twice, and I think killed a grand total of 3 people in those 3 games. There needs to be a bigger emphasis on kills as opposed to winning the round. The guy who won the first round won with 11 kills (which is pretty impressive in a tournament) and that barely counts for anything. At least the commentators were definitely on point and salvaged it. It's still a fairly fun watch but they definitely need to fix some things.
