I personally try to practice an aggressive build for matchups I don't like to play. Benefits are that you pratice timings and micro while you focus on macro in the other matchups and also that games wouldn't last that long. If a build starts working for you, the matchup can suddenly become fun to play

I get the feeling that the changes made many people play zerg who played other races before, but that's just a guess from my experiences on ladder. If a build starts working for you, the matchup can suddenly become fun to play Ive tried a mix of cheese/aggro/macro builds in TvT, and i just hate them all, to the point where i just want to f10-n every tvt, i just dont find the matchup fun regardless of the build im using. Yeah i guess im a baby for not wanting to deal with tvt, but i play the game for fun, and tvt is no fun. Thinking of switching to P since there's probably less chance of getting a mirror that way lol. Either way, i feel like a peice of garbage for hating tvt and even thinking about switching races because of it haha.

I totally agree with you, TvT was my favourite MU during HOTS, I liked it and it was very fun to play, now, TvT opening is a pure gamble, and TvT mid and late game is so unforgiving, you can be far ahaead and lose everything in a couple of seconds.

I'm struggling to find an effective timing in ZvT that hits before the bio/tank push arrives at my 3rd. What is an effective way to pressure before this happens?

I was messing around in the LOTV unit test map from the arcade, and just tried to kill a hydra with 5 phoenixes, one lifting up and the other 4 shooting at once. Hydralisks having no armor and 80hp, and the phoenixes dealing 10x2 damage to light units per shots, i expected the hydralisk to die. NOPE, it survived with 1 hp. Now you're gonna tell me that the zerg regen let him survive, but simple testing like shooting once at the hydra shows that it doesn't start to regen until around 2 seconds after first being damaged. So why would a full health hydralisk have time to regenerate 1hp if all the phoenixes shoot instantly? I've had the same result with every other zerg units that should have taken exact lethal damage, like 4 immortals vs a hydra, or 5 vikings with +2 vs viper (granted that roaches and mutalisk regen faster). The only constant thing is that the zerg unit gets shot by more than one unit but i don't see why that would matter. Am i missing something very obvious? On an unrelated note, the last patch updated some icons like the resonating glaves upgrade or the reaper grenade, but does anybody see any difference with the pre-patch and the new burrow icon? I don't see any for some reason.

If you're a mech player, suscribe to HTOmario, he's offering his replays quite often. I think demuslim does too, not sure tho

So unless you one shot the zerg unit, it will essentially have +1 hp as soon as it get damaged.

But i just explained that they actually don't start regenerating hit points right away, and that in situations where i should one shot them, they survive anyway... Try hitting a drone once with an scv, you'll see it only starts gaining hp back like 2 seconds later... After further testing i found out that SOMETIMES 4 immortals will actually one shot the hydra, and sometimes it will survive with 1hp...seems like theres some kind of rng in starcraft 2 after all -_-

Its just weird that no protoss player realized this considering all the phoenix vs hydra in PvZ recently. I guess they just assume the zerg units regenerate instantly. The most used example of this is storm vs hydras leaving them at 1hp, except storm takes 4 seconds, leaving the hydras enough time to start regenerate.

Weird, i didn't notice many players using that on the streams i usually watch. The only reason i heard was that it helped seeing how many units were killed. For example in ling baneling wars, if you weren't watching and come back to the action, you could still see the xp for each unit that just died by a baneling, giving a better idea on how far ahead you are.
