I'm a (diamond) zerg player using TheCore (ZRM) for a bit more than a year now, and I would like to try a switch to Terran (not a complete switch, I still want to play zerg, but I would like to play Terran as well on a decent level).
I have downloaded the TRM version of TheCore to play Terran, but I have a hard time adapting to this layout (mainly due to the control groups & cameras being differents because of queens/injects of Zerg). I'm also not sure if switching between TRM and ZRM each time I switch race is a good idea.
Do you have any advice on which hotkey layout to use ? Should I play with the random hotkey layout ? Is it really different form ZRM ? Or is ZRM good enough to play Terran ?
Hi guys just an update on my keys issue the former seem to be working now but just went into a team game with some mates as I am still doing my drills to learn the core for 1v1 and my basic build, nexus, Zealot, Phenoix lift etc key which was bound to " ' " suddenly changed to " ` " why did it do that have any of you guys experienced this bug? I have had to manually rebind then all I'm just worried that it will revert back again when I'm playing a 1v1 or something any idea what might have caused this? also it set that key to select all army for some reason.
I just tried the layout and i am willing to learn it, but i have a really strange bug.
I downloaded the latest version from github (ZLM), but i actually can't use the set control group hotkey with the number keys. Ctrl + Shift + 3 /4 /5 are not working for some strange reason. First i thought maybe it's because of my german keyboard layout and did rebind them via the gui to the same key, but didn't change anything. Then i changed a group to Ctrl + Shift + 6 didn't work either. But Ctrl + Shift + 7 and 8 works great.
It's no keyboard matrix issue, too i got n keyrollover and checked via Aqua Key, everythings fine.
@Bold Elf: Sometimes SC2 messes up the hotkey file. No idea why, it just happens. Keep a back up at all times. But it might be something different, as you experiences strange problems with your keyboard already. But I do not know what might be causing them.
@dye464: Can you use them, if you create a new hotkey profile in game with the standard layout as reference and then bind set CG to Ctrl+Shift+3/4/5? There is a known problem with ctrl+shift+0, that is described in the FAQ. Maybe you want to check, if this somehow applies also for your problem, although it is unlikely.

I remember reading about that but never heard about it changing in the middle of a game and no never had issues with my keyboard before I had a look in my hotkeys folder and I still had a copy of PLM in there when I use PRM so they might have interfered with each other for some reason. I have removed that now so I will keep an eye out if it happens again.
I was trying to find an answer to this before posting here but I couldn't easily sort through all the pages. I have just started using "TheCore" a few days ago and am loving it so far. I play zerg and am finding it pretty easy to understand why most things are binded the way they are. The only thing I am struggling to understand is why 'o' is select larva and build drone. I see that this is the quickest way and doesn't tie up another button but I would like to hear more. In early/mid game I find myself spamming the keyboard and accidentally building drones instead of other units or initiating upgrades from the hatchery accidentally. Can somebody elaborate why this key binding was set and maybe suggest some common alternates?
it allows you to build the fastest worker possible by holding the button down at the start of the game, and whenever you have enough money to build a drone.
As far as alternates go, its a bit of a process, you'd optimally keep select larva and move all the units down by 1 key, using the keyscores in the spreadsheet.
Hey guys i am searching advice:i am a gold league terran player who started using the core 1.0 a week ago and i memorised all the terran hotkeys (except control groups) using the arcade suggested by JaKaTaK. I can't use the control groups well,do you know a fast method of learning them beside mass ladder game?
Hi, New to using the core. Using TRM layout and trying to figure out how to have my SCV build several Supply depots in a row. With standard layout i would hold shift and click. How do I do it with Core?
@Dadapatata Have a look at this link its (thats the Terran tutorial playlist) Jacks tutorial channel I'm currently trying to learn them while doing warp in drills but you cant exactly do that. if that playlist does not help there is on about control groups in the Protoss one it might help. also look at the resources section of the front page of this thread there is a micro trainer game name in there you might be able to do it via that with deliberate practice.
@Ancient Mariner 101 you do the same thing but your shift should be under your thumb now Shift for queing commands cant be altered at all hence why they layout out either on the left or right side and not somewhere in the middle etc that and the other reasons he explains in his vid
Is there a way to cycle through production buildings that are on the same hotkey? I think there used to be but I can't find it. If not I would have to put factories, barracks and starports on different hotkeys, that would be less efficient, right?
Its called next and previous subgroup. In hotkeys>global>unit management. TheCore has it as the 2 side mouse buttons to start with but if you watch the video on customization in the OP it goes over the most common rebinds that people who use TheCore do
Im having a problem when using the Core, whit "backspace" inject method.
Im using RRM, and by default i dont have Alternate binding key for base camera (the video has). Its only binded to F9. Im confuse cause the inject video says i don't need to click while injecting whit "backspace method" but it dosent work whitout click for me.
Is the file for RRM medium wrong or am i doing something wrong? Also thanks again for Jakatak for best and also free hotkeys on market :D

I seem to have a problem where this doesn't work if I start holding the key too early on the loading screen, any experience with that issue?
downloaded both TLM and RLM (German) hotkey files. Upgrade vehicle and ship and ship weapons is unbound. When I bind it to G (to keep it in line with infantry upgrading), my E button for control group 2 unbinds. If I then rebind that, G for vehicle and ship weapons unbinds. Any idea what's causing conflicting hotkeys?
EDIT: downloaded again, it's working now...no idea why didn't change a thing.
Is it possible to change the keys for Ctrl + LeftMouseButton for select every same unit on the screen? Having it be MiddleMouseButton would be glorious in my position.
