woot go white-ra! and qxc got a lucky break all because morrow had a 2 game streak.
yea i guess the points for breaking the streak was a little bit too much. Maybe make the points correspond to the streak is being broken. So breaking a 5 win streak is much more valuable than breaking a 2 win streak.
Cool event though. Will definitely tune in for next time.

Some people might find it odd that qxc recieves more 'points' than WhiteRa here. Note though that as the ladder system is still new, I might be making the reward for breaking a streak lower or have a stepped system where you get more bonus points the longer your opponent's streak to make it more accurately represent the feat. Ladder positionings are subject to change because of this. (If you are wondering what ladder points mean, they count towards invites towards offline FXOpen events scheduled for later in the year but so far unannounced. The ladder points aren't the ONLY thing that goes towards your invite as there are things like total wins, etc. but of course it should reflect your performance in the events).
VODs I believe will be up for the tournament, and if not then replays will be released.
The reward for streak breaking really doesn't make sense. The more games the opponent wins the harder it is for him to keep winning. It's mentally and physically very demanding to keep playing like that versus top level players.
Rewarding a single victory after 5 victories with the same amount of ladder points just doesn't make sense if you're going to use the ladder system at all because it is inherently flawed. Getting more than 2-3 victories is an incredibly difficult task, one that is probably not going to happen very much. This system actually hurts the player who wins more. Winning a streak should simply be the same as winning two games or something, making it equivalent to the superhuman feet of 5 consecutive victories over top level players seems mindless to me.
Have to give you and the rest of FXO + the casters (especially unstable) huge props, very entertaining games the casting was great, the stream quality was great, no lame commercials (at least for me). Thanks for all the hard work!

lol how ridiculous that qxc gets more points for 1 win than WhiteRA for 5 LOL
the system of this is pretty fail

why did qxc get 30 points and whitera only 25? dont know even after dels post.

Seriously guys... White-Ra wins FIVE games in a row, he's the last man standing, but qxc gets more points because he won ONE (1) game and ended a TWO (2) game streak.
How.The. Hell.Is.This.Fair.

lol wtf this point system is wrong.
ra's ownage :<

I dont agree with the point system, koth should award winning streaks not breaking a streak.

Not some people, all people.
You wouldn't find a single person on the entire planet who thinks it's a good idea to give more points to the guy who won 1 game (breaking a streak of 2) than the one who won 5, had the biggest streak and ended as the king of the hill.

Good games from White-Ra and completely broken points system.
1st of all winning a lot games in a row versus different opponent is not easy task at all, and must be rewarded. For example: winning one game awards 5 points, winning second game in the row awards 6 points, third 7 and so on.
2nd, streak breaker score must be based on broken streak length. For example: if player break streak of 3, then he awarded 5 points for the win + 3 points for streak break (streak length = points received).
Sorry for broken English.

big props to FXO, loved the event and all these top players in it. yea got to agree with everyone else here, point system needs to be reworked.
pretty sure after looking at the feedback deL will make changes soon, so dont worry guys.

White-Ra so beastly.
Yeah, point system still needs some work. If you want to keep the breaking streak award (there's an argument to be had for simply leaving it out), you have to increase each game value to 10 and make breaking a streak award half the points than attaining that streak nets a player.
Like this:
In todays case, that'd mean White-ra getting 50 points, Morrow 20, qxc 20, and the other players who won one game 10 points.
That said, thanks for putting on all these events, del and FXO! :D High profile players and good games, we appreciate it. Can't wait for the Opens!

unfortunately I missed this but I'm very happy this thing is happening in Europe now white-ra such a beast. and yeah agree with nirvana the rating system is obviously terrible but its gonna get fixed soon I'm sure

But the problem is that this then has to be balanced with the points you earn from the FXOpen Invitational Series events where ladder points are also assigned. A KOTH streak of Bo1 wins against similar opponents shouldn't be worth a lot more ladder points than similar or more difficult feats in the FXOIS.
BTW remember there are two ladders for this event, wins AND points so WhiteRa gets a lot of points and will top the win ladder too.
Will use this for now, so that breaking a streak is like getting +1 win than you really did. It's not ideal (like 2 x 2 in a row is as good as 5 in a row) but it will do for now, and getting two in a row twice means you were probably last man standing or the streak winner from the previous month for a re-invite anyway. Like I said it doesn't have to be perfect it's not the be all and end all, it's just a guide used in conjunction with the total wins to get an idea of overall performance at this stage. It introduces this ladder idea that we will be implementing more thoroughly later.
