As always, don't ask or provide illegal restreams. Oh, and no balance whining either. I can't believe we still have to post that.

MVP tries to make up for this, and makes a very greedy expand on the low ground from his only late rax, hoping DRG will capitalize on his mistake by taking a fast third instead of pushing it. But DRG doesn't fall for that, and a horde of lings is enough to force a GG. Game 2 on close pos Terminus : macro openings, then MVP tries the marine hellion elevator play, denied by 3 queens and some lings. Then we get some more perfect muta harass (like yesterday DRG on bel'shir vs Happy in GSTL if you saw that) Both on 3 bases, MVP finally gets 2 thors and take his nat 4th with a horde of marine tanks. DRG dive into it with mutalings and trades pretty well, losing all his army (mutas included) for the 2 thors, all the tanks minus 2, and 3 quarters of the marines. During this DRG takes his 4th and 5th, and 2 minutes later remaxes with ultralisks lings/blings/festors, and dive again in the tank line, this time killing the planetary 4th and everything else, he manages to push into the main while a big drop from MVP is killing stuff, but too little too late, MVP gg. A great game.

I never understand this argument, ever. Why the fuck would any player play lower than their ability in a publicised tournament with prize money? What do they possibly have to lose by playing their best? Why would MVP put his reputation on the line by losing to DRG? Basically, I'm not buying it, I don't even understand why anyone would think that.

There was no prize money at stake and some guys were just doing it for laughs while others were more serious.

Basically, I'm not buying it, I don't even understand why anyone would think that. Because these top players pretty much had a choice between practicing specifically for their AoL matchups (~$1800 for first place) or GSL matchups (~$50000 for first place) Given that the level of competition is actually higher in the AoL, and given that making the round of 16 in the GSL is more rewarding than winning the AoL, I can't fault any player who decided to practice explicitly for their GSL matchup and neglect their AoL ones. So while they're playing their best, they haven't practiced as hard for their AoL matches as they would for a GSL opponent.

It just means that they only care about the money. If Nestea's reason is to hide his strategies, then that's not a true champion in my book. A real champ should be confident enough that if his cards are out he can still win. I'm sure Nestea doesn't care about the GSTL and maybe AOL also. He cries when he loses in the GSL (even just losing one game and advancing), but he laughs when he loses in the GSTL.
